Smoking Baby = 2nd coming of Nostradamus

Brenham doesn't look like the usual Brenham.  We have a long way for to go, and lots of work to do.  We looked a lot better in the second half Friday, but you can tell that this team is Missing JD badly.

If I remember correctly both Lion TD's were on long runs. Brenham looked like a different team in the second half though.

Pre-game show starts at 7:00 on KWHI.com Kickoff at 7:30, from Cub Stadium. The Cubs try to bounce back after an upset loss last week.

Big game.....  Still taking Navasota by 2 TD's though.

[/quote] I sure hope you're right.  Thanks for keeping JD in your prayers.  He's a really good kid and his family is very thankful for all of the support and prayers. I have noticed a few crickets have started chirping already, about how we are always overrated.  The funny thing is, I didn't hear them when we're dominating over the past few years.  All of a sudden we're off to a rare slow start and dealing with an issue that most teams are fortunate enough to avoid, so now a few people wanna take shots at us.  It's only a matter of time before we get things together, so I hope they are enjoying this while they can.

This is just what we need after the horrible performance our offense showed Friday.  With so many sophs & juniors starting and losing mainly because of turnovers, in our first game of the season that has been dedicated to JD.  Will this be a major upset, or will Brenham get back to being Brenham before district starts next week with Magnolia West.  IMO, this is a much needed tune up game, where our young players get much needed reps & experience.  Usually I prefer a tough non-district schedule, but with all we lost & the unfortunate situation we have been placed in, this is just what we need, especially after having our regular season 20 game winning streak snapped.  My guess is we open up the play book and see what will & won't work in district.
