Huntsville @ Humble/Huntsville wins 39-7
Very, very surprising score for anyone who watched Coldspring absolutely dismantle Huntsville a couple weeks ago in both schools first scrimmage. Humble must be really bad or Huntsville improved alot.
IMO, it was both. Huntsville looked alright, other than the 9 fumbles and no passing 1-3 for 9yds between 4 QB's. Every time they ran, they got 6-8yds, it really didn't matter. Now Humble was just awful..... 51yds of total offense. C'mon man! -
The Falcons return 12 starters, with most of them being on defense. The Cubs are rebuilding, with only 5 starters now since JD's stroke. Foster's strength is a fast, experienced defense. The bad news fo us is only only 1 starter back on our o-line. Those 2 things could be a very unfortunate situation for my Cubs. Very big game to start the season this year. A lot of emotion at the stadium tonight. Go Cubs!
WOW, had they used all 5 QB's it could have been 70 points.
They did use 4, but 3 & 4 each only took one snap each. -
Chronicle says Humble had a total of 51 yards and 5 firstdowns. :o
They got sacked all night. -
Just got a tweet about 6-Man Throckmorton winning tonight and extending its win streak to 15 straight games. Is that the longest streak going in the state right now or something?
All together or regular season? If it's regular we have a 20 game win streak going, and will be looking to make it 21 tomorrow. Watch out North Shore.... 53 more games and we break your record! ;)

You guys make it seem like Trinity is a bunch of scrubs or something. ::)
IMO if you compare Trinity to Bellevue it was an upset
Very mild upset.... Two teams that are nationally ranked should play a close game. In fact the higher ranked team won, so it looks like the rankings were right on. Most of the time, the better ranked team wins, so I'd say they do matter.
Imma tell ya from living on the somewhat West Coast (Alaska) and being able to watch Washington State HS Football every weekend on TV, when out of state teams enter the better team normally does not win. ;) if you get what im saying. If you've watched the replacement refs in the NFL then you know exactly what im getting at.
Well overall the higher ranked team wins more often than not.
Lots of Hornet doubters before this one, thanks to Coldspring. Huntsville will be in the playoff hunt in 18-4A
They will fight for the 4th spot, or possibly even the 3rd. Huntsville had a lot of speed, and would not hesitate to lower their shoulder and plow through a few guys. They were very physical on both sides of the ball. They did have trouble holding on to the ball though. I think I counted 6 fumbles. They were very one deminsional, with running plays on just about every snap. Passing plays were about 5%-10% of there offense. On defense they blitzed alot and stayed in the backfield all night. They swarmed the ball on every tackle, and caused 5 fumbles. Humbles only TD came thanks to offensive pass interference that wasn't called. The Hornet defense was by far the best part of the game. The Huntville kicking game was absolutely atrocious though, with 2 missed PAT's and 1 blocked PAT. They also had a chance to go for a 26yd FG and a 22yd FG, but they ran the ball on 4th down every time except for 2. (Even when it was 4th and long) -
