That is a very good post Burkeville all of it seems to be true except I find the 62 home runs incredibly hard to believe unless they play on a 200' field. Thats an average of 7 per starting 9 players. If it is true and they play on an average field this would be an awesome achievement and should be on sportscenter!

Final was 12-7 Lovelady. Lovelady scored 3 runs in the first, not 8,  after 3 2 out errors by the jackets. Should be a close game Friday.

There may be a lot of rooms opening up in austin saturday.....

Whats the final?

Man one loss and everyone quits giving Evadale the state title? I enjoy reading all the diffferent topics and comments on Evadale baseball. Dont let one loss let you stop talking. Im missing my daily chuckle. I heard there will be some big league scouts at thier first playoff game to look at 7 of their players. Should be fun...

Their 1A and their pretty stout. They were ranked in the top 5 early on and lost to some big schools. Evadale will have to walk over them also to make it to Austin. Ill post a final when it goes, should be this inning.

I hope evadale does make it I just think the northern part of the region is to tough. Evadale and Chester are both small local schools that if they play to potential they could meet each other. And not to start a fight but Ill bet my life savings right now that 4 players dont go D1 off a 1A squad. If this were the case they could walk backwards to the state title. Evadale will lose in the 3rd round. Jasper has a good chance as long as they play to their potential. They have had some down games this year and we all know those kill you in the playoffs.

I attended this game because it would really decide the district winner. I must say it has been awhile since Ive seen a coach or a team with less class than west sabine. Any coach that would let his players act the way they did shouldn't be in high school sports. Pathetic. I commend the chester kids for not stooping down to that level. Good ball game though. Chester has some freshmen that show good potential.

I agree Pocogrande. Its very obvious that a couple of parents with a little money in Warren are obviously hurting the teams chances. Im not even from Warren and have heard about this and witnessed last week. When a team has seniors and juniors in the outfield that cant catch a fly ball or stop a rolling ground ball that goes right beside them, it becomes apparent that politics have runined the coach and the team. In the coaches respect it is public that the superintendent has been in his ear and I understand he is just trying to protect his job but its just sad. In one way he needs to grow a pair and put the best players on the field and in the other he needs to bring home a paycheck. Its a bad situation all around, and a sad one.

For all of you who are saying Evadale will be in the state tournament you may want to think about the exit they had last year.... You may want to consider that Carlisle didnt lose a single player and that Maud lost 1 position player... If memory recalls the rebels didn't have too good of luck against Maud last year. But good luck on the state tournament..You'll need it.

The funny thing about your post is that they only won by 2 points thanks to a field goal. So in retrospect what does that say about East Chambers? If their district was such a power house they should have blew them out, would you not agree?
