They will lose
Anyone that knows ANYTHING about LT is that they take no one lightly. The come prepared, they execute, and they have depth times three at all positions. As bad as I'd like to see them taken down, realistically it's just not going to happen at the hands of Dawson. Dawson makes too many mistakes on a regular basis, and their scheme is not liquid enough to adjust to what LT is going to throw at them both defensively and offensively. LT can beat most JC's and lower tier colleges. Their athletes are just that good. It's not fantasy, it's just fact, and just to be truthful, I have seen many LT games and their kids are fired up, but the are humble in victory, and play clean ball. Their coaching staff demands a lot from their players, and one of the biggest demands is discipline. They don't tolerate nonsense, or anything that distracts, deters, or deviates them from their mission. And their mission is simple, win State, PERIOD. Like it or not, it's a fact. Not saying they can't be beat, just haven't seen a high school team yet that can do it this year. Someone said that this is a very different Dawson team than they saw a few years ago, well this is a very different LT team, the best I've seen on this run of state titles. And that schedule they play in over their just ramps them up for a run every year. Tough neck of the woods.....
Well I guess that is why the games are played on the field and not on paper haha... This seems like the Pearland Trinity game last year. alot of people counted Pearland out because Trinity was bigger faster etc but I know Coach Wells has a few tricks up his sleeves that he hasn't done this year that he has been saving for this game
And Pearland/Trinty 2010 has what to do with LT? Neither of those teams are even in the same spectrim talent wise. This Dawson team is almost the same as the Dawson team that was suppose to roll over Montgomery last year in the third round, and got sent home. It was a great game, and was one with less that two minutes left on the clock. 1:43 if I remember, and we drove the ball 81 yards on the ground in 5 plays for the winning TD, leaving 41 seconds on the clock. It's also the same team that was stonewalled on the goal line with two first and goals from inside the five, and was stopped in four downs both times. So if you are going to talk about last season, at least talk about the team in question, not two totally different schools. LT by 28 points or more.

6. Vidor Pirates, you have no reason to hang your head, walk through the halls of your school, with your chin up and a smile on your face, because you have won a game much more complex and difficult, and that's the game of life. In this world where respect is a rare commodity, and hard to come by, you have won. Hands down you have won. Matt is smiling down on his team, knowing they gave 110% on and off the field. Your peers are still talking about what a great thing you've done, and you did it with pride, dignity, and self respect, that would make anyone proud to be associated with, and any team proud to know they stepped on the field of play, with the Vidor Pirates. The downside of this season to most of your opponents, is the fact that most of your starters will be returning, and I guarantee that every coach has you on their radar, and their chalk boards bear your names. Good luck to your graduating Seniors, and walk proud boys, walk proud.......
7. I said it before and I will say it again, Vidor Pirates, you have no reason to hang your head, walk through the halls of your school, with your chin up and a smile on your face, because you have won a game much more complex and difficult, and that's the game of life. In this world where respect is a rare commodity, and hard to come by, you have won. Hands down you have won. Matt is smiling down on his team, knowing they gave 110% on and off the field. 8. If Vidor plays next week like they did Friday, and does something completely out of their norm again playwise, Angleton is in deep dung. Because I don't think anyone can out physical them.
9. We debriefed after the game yesterday, and everyone of our kids, said that the Vidors boys were very cool and respectful, throughout the game, had nothing but respect for them. There are a lot of teams that don't show that after a game, more than we'd really like to see. That shows just how great those kids really are. Because in an era of an outbreak of total disrespect for your nation, your family and your fellow man. Those kids were able to stand above all of that. Vidor Pirates you boys are a class act. My boys came home hating the loss, but knew they had been beaten by the better team that Friday night. To quote "Dad they came to play, they played hard, but they weren't cheap about it. They confused us at first with that wheel route, and when we finally adjusted, they came right at us with their bread and butter and challenged us to stop it. By the time we got to firing on all cylinders, we ran out of time. As bad as it hurt, I felt good knowing I lost to a good team, that had as much respect for us as we had for them, it left me feeling kinda good, even though I felt bad." After hearing that from my boys, I had a sense of pride in our system, and a sense of pride their are more out their like them. Because there is one thing we push in my household, and that's respect, without that, we have nothing. And the Montgomery program pushes that as well. If you noticed if one of our boys was called for a personal foul, involving unsportsman like conduct, he is immediately bench for that series. It a penalty that we just don't stand for. Coach Bolfing even benched his son, the starting QB last year in the playoffs for a series, because Tyler made a bone headed move and drew a flag for it. It's just not acceptable play in our book. Once again Good Luck Vidor, we're definately a fan.....
10. Y'all all just really have to know Justin, to really appreciate him to the fullest, He is a dyed in the wool sports fan, through and through. He drives all over the Area to see games and root for his favorite. And like myself he is a fan of Region 3. We get overlooked so much at the 4A level, all anyone ever wants to talk about is the DFW teams and the teams in the San Antonio/Austin Area. If a person really looks into the history of HS Football, Region 3 has produced a lot of great teams, and great players that have gone all the way to the NFL. Now we all habe to rally behind our Region 3 brethren and go kick the crap outta Lake Travis, because their deal is getting old. LT has a great team, the best money can buy. Do a little research and it's easy to see that they aren't on top by accident, only design. 90% of those kids parents, relocated there just prior to their freshman year in HS, I think it's a lot more than a coincidence. But they work the rules as they are written, it's not anything new. They were doing it out in West Texas for years, and it's done by many schools. Rarely do you see these huse long term successful programs, that have homegrown stars. There is big money for districts in HS Football, and those that want it bad enough, figure out a way to make it happen. Roll On Region 3 and Justin you know you are always my boy, win or lose. We have been through some battles, between two district rivals, that actually once a year, grow a temporary rabid hatred for just that one Friday Night, but then pull for each other to remain loyal to our district, our Area, and our Region, to try and get one of us to hoist that State Trophy. The thinning of the herd is getting down to the elite few, here's hoping Vidor can pull off a victory agsain and make that ride to Kyle field to face the beast LT. If they play next week like they did friday, and do something completely out of their norm again playwise, Angleton is in deep dung. Because I don't think anyone can out physical them.
11. Congrats to Ozen. They flat out out played Brenham. No excuses only execution.
12. [IMG][Hidden Content]] No need to hang your heads boys, you fought it to the end. Hope to see you at Jerry's world Pirates. Congrats again....
13. Vidor came to play ball, and took full advantage of every mistake. Hats off to a really really good Vidor team.  Represent Region 3 well. Angleton will be a handful, but if they play like they are tonight, Angleton is in trouble.
