last year we ran the slot t extremely well we averaged more than 300 yrds a game. this year is a little different im afraid. the offence needs to be changed to something that can be run by the kids this year. last year we had HUGE line, and the 3 out of the 5 top backs in the district! thats why we ended up in the playoffs last year. with only 3 returning starters, they are trying to run the same way we did last year and im afriad it aint gonna work. idk i might be wrong but thats just what i think

[/quote] why are you blaming the refs for a Vidor loss? they weren't playing. as a fan you usually only notice what happened to your team and not what your team is doing. if the refs were missing some calls you would be safe to say that its going both ways. Pirates have always been a 4th quarter team. If Pirates would come out in the start as the same pirates with the fire under em and the emotion that we play with in the 4th, we would be undefeated!

wow...........from what ive heard..............BC is gonna be over flowing with vidorians. a bunch of pirates are coming back from college to catch tonights game...including me.  :) And i do believe Mathews has our boys fired up. We have 5 offencive weapons and a solid defence, i feel sorry for anyone wearing red tonight.

I do believe Vidor is fired up, i expect a ton of ppl out there tonight. The Pirates are gonna have alotta fans cheering them off the feild after the Victory tonight.

Well after being in his program for four years i can say ive never met anyone who cared more about his players, other coaches, team and town!!!! I would nominate him every week if it were up to me. He installed soo many great features in all of us and im proud to say he was my coach.

well i havent checked up on bridge city lately but i do know that B Clark will have at least 2 tds (write it down ;) ) defence should be solid if tink and the other LBs read and make adjustments. Vidor offence is set up around the o line. And from what ive been hearing the big nastys are alot better than theyve been given credit. So as long as the o line holds up im giving the W to vidor by at least 7.  PIRATES AHOOO

as far as new helments go...........after what we put them through last year yea i might agree they need new ones. 3 (supposively) concussions arnt good at all

really guys.......as a former pirate football player (2010 grad) i know that the only thing that has held vidor back in the past is ingorant and selfish ppl who think about them selves. Coach always preached about that. Vidor has always had good players and only 85% of them were unified. All the things we did in offseason taught us to trust each other and to put aside our differences and put our full focous on the team as one unit. Now RC, i understand where your comming from i agree the defence needs to step up. Remember the Centrall game last year????????? 2OT 57 56. we dont need that happening this year. But this is a 80% different team than what we had last year. Adjustments are still being made. Ease up a bit and let it play out im sure as our young team gains experiance they will shape up. But what we DO not need is two (supposively) vidor fans agruing about players coaches stats ect. We need all the Positive support we can get. Pull it togather and stop bickering like freshman who never made 1st team...............................1 2 3 PIRATES AHOOO
