Who is being recruited on your team?
Silsbee92 replied to EDBLU's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
From what I know: QB Billy Chavis Westbrook Baylor DT Jacody Coleman Westbrook Baylor DT Ahmad Jones Silsbee Oklahoma State OG Jerrod Gooch Vidor Texas CB Earl Thomas Wo-S Texas CB Ben Wells Ozen Texas QB Brandon Williams Central Texas A&M WR Jacoby Franks Wo-S Texas Tech Don't know about anyone else or anyone being recruited by smaller schools but will be checking around. Congrats to all these guys. Job well done. Oh, I know that 2 players from #1 Gilmer going Division 1 also. -
Overrated?? Against who??? WOS??? Everyone knows WOS is the team to beat. As far as being overrated... 20 Fumbles - 13 Lost Fumbles = Close Games. If you can win with that many fumbles in this district then you are definitely not overrated. Lazy with the football maybe but not overrated. Silsbee definitely has athletic ability. Lets see if they can put it all together Friday night. If they do, look out. Game will go by fast and score will be close. Give WOS the ball alot and they will beat you by a large margin. Keep them off the field and you have a matchup.

Central cracked the Top 40, BH. You guys are right behind them in the regional rankings @ #13. (Central #11) Good job, Central. (Sorry BH)

Hilarious. Sound pretty frustrated huh?? Here's hoping for a good game. Silsbee players deserve one. They play hard and never give up. Good luck Tigers. I'll still be there.

If your team doesn't make the playoffs......

I do not follow other teams though I hope that a team from Southeast Texas represents in the Championship. Selfish, I Know. Just the way I am. I still wish the teams have great success. -

WOS At Silsbee Predictions..SETXsports Game Of The Week
Silsbee92 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Somebody wake up Kville and tell them an experiment got loose from one of their labs. -
The veer is a run defense killing machine. IF it is ran properly, saying that there are actually pitches, options and dives mixed in then ALL defensive players are forced to react the SAME way. This is what makes the veer offective. IF ran right game is close because of time usage. IF not, which in Silsbee's case is most likely, you guys will probably light up Harper and force him to pitch it out of fear. (hopefully) We have three good backs, power with speed mixed amongst them. They just need the ball. But, man what a balanced offense you guys carry. Should be smash mouth football. Can you keep up??
-
That is so great!!! The friggin' fans even know what kind of offense we run. The QB's name is Harper. If he can read a defense then I am Mary Poppins. He holds the ball to long when making the read on the DE, this causes alot of the fumbles. Trying to pull the ball back out way to late, pitch man already out of pitch sequence and then he is forced to take it himself, which I am sure doesn'thurt his feelings. Now.... He is an excellent athlete with great instincts in the open field, but he cannot out fight three guys when they get on him. More fumbles. We do not run the veer correct, there should be OPTIONS!!!!!! Pitch, sweep dive, tight end passes, slants, draws, etc... ALl this was in the veer option 30 years ago and somehow Silsbee coaches have forgot how to run them. If the fast QB cannot runt he veer, then put a slow QB in who can recognize the reads..... Pathetic. WOS has got to be loving this.....

Best bet is at the wooden bridge. Lots of fans from both teams will be going in at the ticket gate there. You will cover probably 2/3 ds of the fans that way. Will be looking for the T-Shirt myself.

WOS, Apologize for the misquote, but in agreeing with the previous post, states you have the same opinion of the district. Personnally, I think the district is great, lots of competition between 7 of the 8 schools. Enjoy the district if it is so weak because you are "guaranteed a playoff spot while the rest of us will take pride in our wins and losses. -

WOS92. Real classy talk. Complaining about having such a good team. You and kvilleballa must have each other on speed dial. Post was: Were you satisfied with your teams performance? I enjoy watching WOS represent this district in the playoffs. Would hate to start rooting for the other districts just so you can be humbled. Don't speak for the team. -
WOS At Silsbee Predictions..SETXsports Game Of The Week
Silsbee92 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The only problem in Silsbee is preparation. No imagination when it comes to playcalling. It has to be scary for WOS to game plan because it is to good to be true, dive left, dive right, dive left, who couldn't plan against that. IF the players don't overpower the other team by talent alone then it is a close game (HF). Defense is good enough to win games (HF) but against caliber teams (WOS) the coaching has to step up and help give these players a chance. Teach them to spot weakness and then exploit it. Every team has them. I hope we plan well for this game as we are losing many fans because of poor decisions not because of losing. Talent isn't on same level as WOS but it is way above the rest of the district as a whole (no offense intended). If the coaches can't win with this team then it will be a long time before anything positive happens in SIlsbee. Time for a change in coaching? I don't know. But I am sure it is a time for change when it comes for preparation. Disappointed in Silsbee. Disheartening to watch this team struggle. WOS 35 Silsbee 10 :| :| -
I called my date for homecoming and cancelled. Going to the movies instead. HA HA Hoping for a good Silsbee Team to show up prepared.
-
Silsbee showed nothing tonight. I give a lot of props to HF, they played hard and never quit. 13 -7 at half and that is how it ended. I was very dissapointed in Silsbee's offense. No sense in running the option if your quarterback doesn't know what to do. Horrible decisions led to 2 fumbles lost inside the 20. two more scores gone. If not for the defense ( 2 Ints, 3 Fumble recoveries) we would have lost. May not go next week if coaches do not prepare this team better. Could have been my fault for getting so excited about next week.

Post 9th and JV Scores Here
Silsbee92 replied to SETXsports Broadcaster's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
HF JV 14 Silsbee JV 12 (Silsbee 4 Fumbles , 2 Lost, 1 Interception, missed 2 two-point conversions) Looks like ball handling techniques extend through to the JV.... -
If the people on this forum would be so kind as to pick the game they will be attending. Which is the most intriging?? I personnally will start out at the Silsbee - HF game, but I have a ticket for the K-Ville @ Orangefield game. Will want to see the outcome of this one. I believe it to be the game to watch in our district race. Hope it lives up to the hype. Plus I believe I can pick out Kvilleballa in the stands. (Looking for the guy throwing a fit!) Enjoy your Friday night. Game On!!! 8) 8)

Craig Martin Kid practices religiously after school. Warms up @ 35 yards, pretty accurate @ 40 yards and can kick it farther than 50 yards regularly if he wants to. Still perfecting technique. Gets very few chances though because of fumbles. Silsbee either scores or fumbles this year.

Silsbee at Hamshire-Fannett Predictions
Silsbee92 replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Silsbee will run relentlessly for 4 quarters. And I mean relentlessly. HF will have at least 7 possesions, maybe less, depends on Silsbee rushing game. You can count on 35 - 50 rushes with some passing, as their confidence is gaining in that area. That equals a pounding physically. Game may be close early in the first half but look for Silsbee to start to pull away quickly after halftime. Prediction (w/ no fumbles) : Silsbee 52 HF 17 Prediction (w/ fumbles) : Silsbee 38 HF 28 -
Moye Speaks On His College Choices
Silsbee92 replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Moye has excellent size and speed. Played him in Jasper in 2004 and watched him almost beat us mercifully by himself. If the Jasper coaches wouldn't have cganged game plans to prepare for the playoffs he would have had a monster game. remember him about 6' 2" and around 190 lbs. Could be wrong though. Excellent athlete. -
Kirbyville at Orangefield Predictions
Silsbee92 replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Orangefield by 7 over K-Ville. 21 - 13. OF is technically sound making up for size and speed. Will run pass plays to perfection and then stuff that Captain of theirs at Fullback down your throat. Very few mistakes being made by that team. You better have some talent to overcome their coaching. OF came ready to play against Silsbee. We kept fumbling in the redzone and they kept capitalizing. It took a quarter to adjust and then barely stay ahead of them. No mistakes and you win, but of course that will not happen. OF goes to 4-2, and takes K-Ville's playoff spot.
