Yep. Seems to have a real feel for finding those gaps inside and steps inside the linebacker coming down the line.

Martin stepping in to back fill Thomas as downhill power back has been tremendous. Love the single step move to hit the hole and then power forward with a sudden burst of speed to get 3-5 yds after contact. His ability to avoid or shake off the first tackler will play big dividends if the O-Line can learn to shift from run blocking to pass blocking within a set of downs. Side Note: Better quit carrying the ball with one hand outside his cradle though. Hes strong with it, but it will hurt them at the worst time. Defense just needs to keep improving. With Thomas and Herrington in the game now it adds some depth at the linebacker position. Some would say an improvement on the inside due to more instinct to attack the ball carrier than overthinking and getting blocked too deep into the secondary. Tiger Nation

Jeckyl and Hyde. 1st Half Defensive woes continue for Tigers.

Got some rain today at Tiger Stadium. You know the drill.

Jeckyl and Hyde. Lots going on in this little town. Needed some time to refocus priorities. O-Line just has to keep getting better. Lots of new faces this year even though there are a bunch of seniors.

Navasota has a pretty good passing offense. Silsbee played their normal defense with a blitz package. Forced the QB on the run all night. LCM ran the trap almost to perfection. Silsbee made adjustments too late and really just couldn't make up that much ground given up. 44 1st Half Points. 22 points came with less than two minutes to half. We'll see how they match up in the trenches.

Love Thomas. Have said it before but tonight shows that he is a dominant defensive force that can't be filled right now. The back position has been back filled nicely and with the experience the Young guns are getting it will be a nice move for future. I have mad respect for Thomas for taking it in stride and handling his business on defense. Team player and I hope he is one of the leaders emerging, and the young backs as well, I spoke of earlier. I think you'll see a different team rest of district. Defense played well. 3 Int & fumble recovery in second half. The stats will tell a story. The fumble going in to score hurt, Tigers have to finish off drives, too many drives ending inside the ten.

It's also the reason nobody wants to play them next year. Except us. Great team.
