  1. Yes sir. One day off and I get to watch some ball. #TigerNation
  2. I came away with an unbelievable feeling about our pitching depth. How can we actually add depth!! Sweet! Good to see the hitting and baserunning by the tigers. I could be wrong, maybe I was tired, but yes sir. Speed on the bases!! It's early but I'm pumped. #TigerNation
  3. Silsbee takes the win tonight. Good job padres!! Shout out to Jr. Forward Crystal Guitierrez with 4 goals tonight.
  4. Unbelievable. Hard to defend the undependable. But by all means.... Keep giving these kids all the examples they need to be irresponsible and unaccountable. Only a few places to rest your head down this road. Neither one desirable.
  5. Thanks for this post. So tired of the "Silsbee Fans" remark.
  6. One more thing..... I don't like where any of this is headed in reference to the basketball players focus. If it was me, I would make it a point to my team that my actions were wrong and in no way should be defended. Don't make it about defending me for the punishment received. Focus should be on team. Not individuals. Jmo
  7. The only way to learn from poor decision making, bad sportsmanship and immature behavior is to create a lasting image. As bad as I feel for our community and school, a change has to happen. Silsbee AD has committed to that change, hopefully we embrace it. As parents, we must adhere to morally sound behavior. Check your emotions, make good decisions and be responsible for those decisions. Good or bad. Take time to reflect and heal #TigerNation.
  8. Been there done that. Enjoyed it tremendously and to be fair.. In my experience, It was usually the grandparents and mothers who required the hook. Happy hunting.
  9. Not really. In baseball, Each move is initiated by the same person on one side and a move by the opponent is required before said person can initiate another move. Basketball has no such requirements. Can be anyone of five to initiate move. The only stretch would be to say basketball was even close to being checkers. How's that...?
  10. Its probably going to cause a stir but here goes... True feeder program success example: West Orange-Stark Nothing changes from birth to graduation. One key ingredient is that is looks like EVERY athlete from that community dreams or strives to play football. No division. True, other sports seem to suffer the consequences of such a system. If BISD setup their school athletics in that fashion, what would be the results? There has to be an unknown depth of talent both athletically and academically. Better education? Better athletic facilities and programs? Curious as to the opinions.
  11. If that don't get there attention then batting .400+ again will.
  12. At first I was like, another one. Then I was like, OK... Weird but OK. Finally, I was like.... Lol! (The Aunt Thing..)
  13. We live in a society where rules, regulations, guidelines...Whatever haven't applied to the masses in a very long time. While I'm an old school (raised with promises, not threats) mentality, most "sensitive" situations are routinely settled based on political/financial clout first and then towards exposure/popularity benefits. I reserve the right to go "nuclear" in any given situation where "nuclear" tactics have been applied. Of course, it's a break glass in an emergency one time use only decision. But it'll get noticed.
  14. Nice post. While I agree wholeheartedly and have plenty of times spoken with people/players from those communities who have said the same. Way better team at the end than the beginning. O-Line and defense improved leaps and bounds. Hoping for this trend to continue.
  15. #22 Wilbert was a beast. Don't know how many he scored but was clutch all game. Had to hit 5-6 threes, including the one, from beyond the top arc (off the glass mind you) with a hand in his face, that put them ahead with 18 sec.
  16. get better Mike. We can manage for one game.
  17. Team is immensely talented. Need their seniors, specifically two, who were there last year to remain consistent. Control their passion, let it benefit them, not distract them. The addition of Jones is gonna be big, as well as the coming of age for Bush. I see that young man being a stabilizing player when Devon is not on the court. Jmo
  18. I'm no expert. Pitched maybe twice in High School, never played at a higher level so take the following for what it's worth. "In one particular 8-year stretch". ... "-from 1991-98 – the Braves split 6 Cy Young Awards, between Maddux (3), Glavine (2), and Smoltz (1). The Braves also won 7 National League East titles, and advanced to 7 National League Championship Series and 4 World Series, winning one, in that same stretch." I left out a sentence in between the quotes above. It is the common denominator between those three Hall of Fame pitchers. I will agree rest is needed, after the season, for 3-4 months. Not in season or leading up as well. Someone once said this... "I have talent. I can't explain it. You either have it, or you don't." I believe that to be the ultimate reason. Everyone else is just trying to keep up. Jmo
  19. Trajan has to be 0-5 beyond the arc since halftime. Missed opportunities this game. They'll look back and realize how this wasn't their best.
