I have seen several small personnel changes after each scrimmage and each game so far. These small changes have made huge dividends in efficiency compared to the previous week. Jones did not look comfortable at all in the PNG game. Against Newton, 100% improvement in my eyes as far as recognizing how much time he has to throw. That's film and coaching at its best. Still sorting out the receiving core it seems. No T. Lowe yet and other than B. Newton, nobody has stepped up. Maybe nobody agrees with me here but I felt Silsbee controlled most of this game but four plays would changed this game. 1) Int Non Call (hmm) 2) Dropped TD before half. 3) Dropped Slant (Nobody would have caught him) 4) 1st and Goal - No TD Newton took the ball and scored directly after three of the four. All of these were emotional let downs in my opinion. Led to a lack of focus and the resulting scores. Fixable. It will come. Newton did their job. Capitalized on opportunities.

I reserve judgement till I see the second layer develop. They are young behind Carroll and if they cant recognize their assignments then .... well it will be a long district schedule.

horse manure. Inside position and the ball. Wasnt the game though. I like what the defensive line did tonight. Cant remember the last time I saw SIlsbee with 5 Down lineman. Played well. McCain made his presence known and they made adjustments, after that Hageon and the D-Line pretty much controlled the run game. A few Big Plays that resulted in touchdowns but both were superb plays and one had a devastating block on a LB to free the RB. Hats off. Football as it should be. Forced Newton to throw and then the secondary layer of defense was torched. Too many missed assignments but I expect Coach Allen to address it. Linebacker education coming next. This offense is sneaky close to being .... what are the words? Clock eating machine. WAY BETTER on controlling game, just didnt finish drives. In my opinion, WR core needs to block better on perimeter to help free up Tyler, and run ALL routes. Meaning, sell it like you getting the ball everytime. No team can outplay 8 in the box if you cant throw and catch. Hats off to the RBs. Taking a beating. Disclaimer: I am no coach. I'll sleep on the rest.

You're just being polite. Thanks. Lots of talent on the field. It's a shame they won't put it together consistently. Keep working Tigers. Keep getting better. Be ready for district. #TigerNation

Not all of SIlsbee. Got a question ask it. Post a serious or informative statement and you'll get the same back. Other than that, I usually avoid the baited statements. No sense in arguing with .... Quote the ones you are referring to and Im sure they will answer. Other than that, I let the coach call the game and watch the young men play.

Congrats Pirates. Build on it.

Look for K.B. to come back from UT with an offer as well. Hook 'em! -

Add another Tiger to the College Ranks. Congrats Bruce. Keep your passion high but dont let the opportunity slip by. #TigerNation -
Not sure why you quoted me.... and quite frankly I'm surprised at how many on this forum think that the lack of passing had anything to do with Barnes or Jones III. Threw 6 Passes (4 Completions and Two Pass Interference Calls) Probably called 10 Pass Plays (A guess), a few were broken due to poor line blocking which I personally think Coach Smith expected. Again, JMO. A Run Heavy Offense was in play at the Rez. Anybody paying attention to the game saw that. So If I felt the need to respond about the receiving core then I would say.....

Should be a great night for football across SeTX. I'm off for this game. Will be well rested and watching for the next phase in the Tiger Offense to emerge. It was plainly obvious to me last game that our O-Line was getting a crash course in run blocking. I applaud the coaches for sticking with this plan, even though it was painful to endure. Take the next step young men. Hard work has its own rewards and you shall soon receive them. #TigerNation

Here we go.

Thirty minutes south and you'll end up in a beautiful venue with Friday Night Football. All are welcome.

I believe they have a legitimate shot. Played a well balanced game against Silsbee but do not expect such a vanilla style of offense/defense up there in 5A.
-
Just making sure and as for the statements about the week 4 outcome, consider the sources. Almost impossible to have a serious discussion about football with some persons, from both sides of the 409.
-
And if your team lost its whole offensive line would you say the same? .....
-
Several players out but except maybe for some longer drives and a few more scores to make it interesting, the lack of receivers didn't seem to hurt since the run game was prevalent. Unless the lack of viable targets was the reason for the game plan.....

Pooch kicks all night except one. Kept it away from any playmakers. Smart move even if it was frustrating. Kalon Barnes, Calvin Tyler and Adonnis Thomas all threats to go to the house with it. Though the refs did short Silsbee the penalty spot EVERY time it went out of bounds. No sideline warning either. Straight to the penalty. Weird officiating crew.

and we all know that there is no room for doubt.

That would require.... nevermind. I agree Grad. -
Missed my mark. Have to remedy that next time. Newton coming to town next week. Another good test for our Tigers.

Nice job ladies. Keep it coming. Work hard.

I wouldn't count them out. Its never an easy thing to change leadership. Trust and faith have to be rebuilt. I feel you Rattlers.
