  1. Pretty good feeling that PNG is gonna share some of that with everyone. Ill take it non-district every time.
  2. Always a pleasure dealing with Orange/Jefferson County.
  3. Im not sure what was the issue last night. It almost looked like Jones was not comfortable with setting his feet to throw. The only other thing would be that it wasn't in the game plan and I have no answer for that if that is the case.
  4. 67% not counting the cancellations. Got destroyed on the 2A teams. Will have to pay more attention..... to what I don't know but Im looking! LOL.
  5. 6 hours ago, class-99 Indians said: im not scared to post what i think,no one is right about every thing,if im wrong,i will admit it,thats what this board is for,fun and to get opinions from people to see what they think,so i have spoken doesnt make me right every thing i say, lol, theres some really smart people on here, and know there stuff Takes me twice as long to read your posts. Kill the commas, please.
  6. Hardly anybody is mentioning the facts. Silsbee threw the ball..... 6 Times. 4-6 with two pass interferences. Defense was real good from PNG but only two things keep the QB from throwing the ball when there are 8 in the box all night. jmo
  7. Lol. The slight would be that I did not get it.
  8. All things being said it was a solid performance by PNG. Coaches scouting the scrimmage against Lumberton put that in play nicely. All 11 defensive players within ten yards of the ball, all night long, with first read on the run. Kept the edges sealed for most of the night, and with the lack of push from Silsbee O-Line and even worse blocking by outside receivers left Tyler/Thomas with little room to maneuver. Though I believe Thomas left an impression, and if he spends less time on defense, you will see more of him in backfield. The Preston Duo was highly effective with downfield running and great hands, Roshon made some great passes and solid reads. They ALL followed their blockers and ate up big chunks of yardage. Real hard for the Tiger secondary to get off blocks last night. It was how it was drawn up (Guessing Here), the defense did what they were supposed to do against the Tigers Offense. As for Silsbee. I still came away with an OK feeling. Young O-Line playing against a stacked box learned hard lessons about getting a push and sealing their blocks. Tyler/Thomas did a fantastic job creating what yardage they gained. As for the lack of diversity in the offense, my only opinion is that the backbone of this offense will be the run (36 Carries by RBs), and Coach Smith wants it done right. Plenty of chances to throw the ball but I wasn't convinced of Coach Smith's confidence in O-Line to have Jones set himself and make a throw based on timing or downfield routes. (Coach Smith did make some subs on O-Line which generated much better results, but they cant play both ways all night. Just cant do it. Could just be me, Im sure someone on here will tell me I am an idiot. Defense was just plain outmatched. PNG's 5 O-Line on Silsbee's 3 D-Lineman had tremendous blocking into the second level LB's. No blitzing from Silsbee, soft coverage (only 6 in the box) and a lack of key defensive players did not help. Still have to tackle. Lots of growing pains here but contrary to the "experts", none of this was a secret. No excuses but that's my insight on what I saw last night. I wanted to see a stabilized defense from Silsbee, left me wanting, I have no issues with the offense. I like it. The better it gets, the more rest the defense will get and hopefully that will allow them to play better. I believe in my gut that this is the plan and that this plan takes faith, patience, execution and then results. In that order. On to Newton.
  9. Probably could have led with that the first time.
  10. Maybe so. Every tough game allows for improvement. If the Tigers weren't interested in improving they would schedule powder puff teams, run their non-district to 4-0 and then get beat by district foes. Im fine with the hard games. The players need to learn to take these losses and improve. One of the things we have lacked in the past. jmo
  11. Small birds. Food for any old tomcat.
  12. Spot on analysis. Must be a football coach. Those things were hard to notice.
  13. Wow. Guess I should expect it. On the game though... PNG has a good squad. Played very well on the oline. Silsbee has some things to clean up defensively but I like the ground and pound though. Good luck PNG.
  14. Let's go fellas. Keep working out the kinks and stop the penalties.
  15. Apps 15 min to go. PNG fans making a fashion entrance?
  16. No McCain or Lowe this game. Two key players.
  17. You know Silsbee has at least one fan that is not going anywhere. No matter which end of the convo he is on.
  18. Always a good matchup. Lady Rebs come to play everytime. Don't let up Lady Tigers. Still gotta rep the colors, even if the cuz is in town.
  19. Twelve pages before the snap..... This one hits thirty easy.
  20. Well start cooking the crows now then.
  21. Nope. Three early turnovers by Gilmer (INTs) from the write up I read.
