  1. Little late but here ya go. Lady Tiger's sweep the Lionettes. 3-0 Off to a great start.
  2. Has a couple years where he was injured. Transferred to UH as a walk on and then finished up his collegiate career at UC. 2015 Season Stats Starting ( QB) 138 COMPLETED PASSES 240 ATTEMPTS THREW FOR 2,170 YARDS THREW 17 TOUCHDOWNS RUSHED FOR 577 YARDS ON 106 CARRIES 8 RUSHING TDS
  3. Right side tackle was busy as it seemed most running plays came their way. Either by design or cutbacks. The oline improved significantly the next series and if it's any indication, then experience is the mother of teachers. As it has always been.
  4. That's a nice point but I wasn't gonna mention it. Tyler had already made three guys miss and had another one on his back when the cleanup came in.
  5. Not to argue but BOTH passes hit Silsbee in hands first. One was a little high but you know the rule....
  6. Defensive Opinions: I'm still not to clear on the full picture but here goes. Silsbee played 3-4 for whole scrimmage, I believe. Lots of new faces on this defense. Don't have all the names for sure so just bear with. I'm almost positive that Hagen, McCain & Newton are only returning starters, Most people didn't know that. Two new safeties, one being Tyler. New outside corner with Newton, Thomas playing weak side LB and Dillon playing the Mike LB. Lots of changes in personnel and we'll... only way is up compared to last year. No blitzing and played straight zone, of course I could have missed a change. It was an uneventful defensive performance that left much to the imagination as McCain didn't crash or rush up field much due to offensive sets of lumberton. No down field passing other than typical in and out patterns, middle screens and straight down field rushing with a bootleg here and there. Won't speculate on reason for no defensive changes, just noticed that Coach Allen didn't berate or change styles so can only say he expected what was happening. Kicker is Soph Brady Carter and yes, it's a work in progress. One other change, since Mackey is gone punting duties went to Jones III. Jmo
  7. Sorry about the lack of updates. Was dealing with an unexpected visitor.... my 4 year old. Lol. Quick opinion after looking at my written notes and replaying it over in my head. Silsbee focused on run/pass from under center for the most part. Mixing runs and passes from I formation. From what i was told afterwards is that this scrimmage was the O-Line film day. Lumberton played a 4-3 defense (or something similar), 8 in the box was a regular thing and Silsbee took 0 shots down field in the first series, NO outside runs or stretch plays to utilize speed. Coach Smith was not concerned with testing the offense so much as watching the O-Line. Now, when Silsbee mixed in the stretch plays, boot legs and went deep (1 Time = TD) there was a remarkable improvement. Lumberton had no answer for AT up the middle. A beast. It will be interesting to see how the roles play out. Receiving core was a mix. Mike J out wide was a surprise. That with no Mackey and no Lowe makes sense on the timing issues. Overall, I think speed at which oline makes improvements and how Tyler adjusts to the line will be the key. I believe it's fine and was a change for sure in the speed at which Silsbee runs offense. Lumberton was a good opponent to start out with. They played a well executed run/screen offense. Stay tuned for defensive opinions. Lol.
  8. Lol. So. Today's scrimmage is exactly what they needed. Lots of hitting. It'll be fine. Lumberton has some pretty good size on the line. Really good job running their offense.
  9. Scatright..... You'll be back. lol. You are never out of a topic.
  10. Nash.... Political Forum activity was an understatement. LoL.
  11. You'll prob get one set of plays (15). Be surprised if he goes more than that. Ill say no more because this thread will go south quick if I stay on it.
  12. lol. Planned on going just to see PNG. No sense in judging offense against that JV defense of WOS.
  13. I hear ya... No secret with O-Line depth. If you watch closely though... Coach Smith doesn't just have the #1 O-line going. Mixing up everything experience wise. Teaching the more experienced lineman how to work with different personnel is what I see. Rarely do I see the #1 O-Line all together. More than just spread blocking scheme going on here now. Of course, as always. jmo
  14. The outside receivers are great targets with hands and speed. They will have their big plays, no doubt. But the damage will be done out of the backfield. Two highly capable backs with hands and speed to burn is where the true danger lies. Only the best defenses can cover two backs, two receivers AND.... Not even going to mention the QB's running capability.
  15. Was looking forward to watching this scrimmage on Lumberton's new turf. Oh Well.....Home Field Advantage now. lol.
  16. No idea what you are referring to...? Might be a reply on another topic or forum but definitely wasn't mentioned here by me. As far as criticizing your running attack? Don't think I have, could be wrong. But to be plain about one thing... Silsbee still runs the spread. Haven't abandoned anything from what I've witnessed, just added two back sets due to coaching style. Also....pretty confident that our poor defense (play & penalties) aided dramatically in most teams success against us. Hopefully, and I do say hopefully, the defense improves even a marginal amount.
  17. Plenty of tackling drills. Coach Allen and others not pulling punches either. Looking forward to Friday. Between the fired up style of Babin (Raiders) and Allen (Tigers) this ought to be interesting.
  18. hence the hesitation by the player. Absoutely Hilarious!! I think he was truly shocked by the request, especially after who Coach Allen put across from him!! Though for the record....neither player shied away from the contact. It was a beautiful thing to see.
  19. please. Nothing to stay quiet about. No drama. No coaching tension. No secret.
