  1. Silsbee over Bridge City in 3. (25-17, 25-16, 25-18) Silsbee moves to 8-2 in District, 23-7 overall.
  2. Orangefield @ WO-S tonight. Important game for WO-S. Wi. And they keep pace with Silsbee, lose and Silsbee clinches at least a shared district title. HF needs a win over HJ to try and steal a spot in the playoffs. Bridge City vs Silsbee, playoff spot on the line for BC.
  3. not to be picky but.... 23-4A. Lol. Thanks for the update. Next weeks game against Tarkington is big matchup. Chance for them to take the district.
  4. thanks onechance. Just wish the news outlets would respond to requests. Of course if team admins would just update their score results on maxpreps it would be easy.
  5. 2015 High School Girls Volleyball Standings 24-4A (as of 10/13/15) District Overall Silsbee 7-2 22-8 West Orange-Stark 6-3 Orangefield 5-4 Little Cypress-Mauriceville 5-4 19-11 Hamshire-Fannett 4-4 Bridge City 3-5 11-15-1 Hardin Jefferson 0-8
  6. Silsbee Lady Tigers over Orangefield Lady Bobcats tonight in straight sets. (25-15, 25-20, 25-19) They had it all working tonight. Big time performance from Junior Mallory Brooks. Lady Tigers move to 7-2 in 24-4A District play, 22-7 overall this year.
  7. My opinion there is no excuse for not submitting stats. Simple thing to do, whether winning or losing. Also agree with onechance on the exposure. Get on a club, doesn't matter unless it's going to the big tourneys and you are playing. Kennidee will benefit big time for the Phenom invite. Kudos to whoever submitted her because it takes a recommendation.
  8. I have my opinions. Lol. WOS plays hard but just couldn't close them out. Had them on the ropes for both the early games we lost. Can't let them hang around.
  9. West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs wins in five games over Silsbee Lady Tigers. (13-25, 28-26, 26-24, 17-25, 15-12) Silsbee still figuring out ways not to close out the Lady Mustangs. Nice win Lady Mustangs. Keep it up.
  10. Big game tonight between (4-3) WO-S and (6-1) Silsbee. WO-S won a thriller first time around in Silsbee, 3-2 with the last game coming down to the wire. Teel had a big night then, and took advantage of a less than stellar effort at the net from the Tigers, pounding them with big hits all night. It will be interesting to see which team shows up tonight to take this match. Always tense when these two schools meet in any sport. Whats on the Line: WO-S needs another victory for a shot at district title because a well balanced Orangefield team is going nowhere. The Lady Tigers would like to stay one game ahead ahead of the Lady Bobcats with a win over WO-S and see if the next matchup with WO-S seals their district title.
  11. Update your local team volleyball results here.
  12. I am in the frame of mind that if your child has "true talent/skills" then their performance will garner some attention from somewhere. However, do not wait to get started or depend on anyone else to get you noticed!! Word of mouth can help in some cases but in the end it depends on the athlete to decide just how much they want to play at the next level. Once they have made that decision then the adults can start fulfilling their role. First off is educating yourself!! Don't take info as gospel. Trust, but verify!! A few links that might help get frame of mind set. [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
  13. In response to several offline conversations this year I have had with some parents about the availability of knowledgeable personnel with experience in the areas of the High School Volleyball recruiting process, I have posted this topic to get some input from those that have been through this process or even some coaches who might want to shed some light for some of the parents who probably just can not figure out where to start. Post some info, links, contacts or whatever. Any legit and useful info will at least point in the right direction. Lets assume that there is a lack of experience and time from the high school coaches themselves. Not every school has a pipeline to some form of college program. Lets have it. Share those experiences. Thanks to the members and moderators. * Moderators: Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum but I could not find one suitable. Maybe a College Recruiting Area?? Thanks in advance for all the good work you do.
  14. Congrats to the Deweyville Pirates Kennidee Willis for her invitation to the 2015 AVCA Phenom College Prep Program sponsored by Under Armour!! Best of luck to Kennidee in her drive to be the best!! [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content] Side Note: Rumor has it that Kennidee has also been invited to attend a tryout at the USVA High Performance Program in Colorado as well!! Nice!! [Hidden Content]
  15. The Silsbee Bee (10/7/15) By Scott Loar The Evadale Lady Rebels have completed the first half of district play and remain undefeated at 7-0. Coach Debbie Hollyfield and her team now they have their sights set on going 14-0 and leaving no doubt as to who the best team in the district could be. “We have completed the Lady Rebels remain undefeated 7-0 first half, but now we will have to make a second run through the district and every team will be looking to knock us off,” Hollyfield said. Last Tuesday, the Lady Rebels traveled to High Island and defeated the Lady Cardinals in three games, 2512, 25-8, 25-5. Torie Langston had 17 kills, Hanna Oldbury had nine kills, Savannah Richardson added six kills, and Michaela Terry had 25 assists. On Friday, the Lady Rebels hosted Goodrich and once again they dispatched their opponent in three games, 257, 25-12, 25-13. Lanston had 12 kills, Richardson had seven kills and Oldbury had five kills. Terry had 16 assists with Sarah Bruce adding nine assists. Evadale will host West Hardin on Tuesday before heading to Sabine Pass on Friday. The Lady Rebels have only seven more games during the regular season and will attempt to exceed 25 wins for the fifth season in a row. The Lady Rebels are currently 20-7 on the season and seeking to finish the season in style. “I have been proud of the team as they have been striving to get better each and every game,” Hollyfield said. “We know we will get every teams best and that will help us as we get closer we get to the playoffs. We will just take each game one at a time and take care of our business, that is our job from here on out.”
  16. Orangefield next week...Tigers got a handful this week as it is, no looking ahead allowed. ALWAYS tense when the Tigers visit Mustang land.
  17. per KOGT 10/7/15 [Hidden Content] This is gonna be interesting to see if Silsbee can hold of Orangefield & WO-S. Either way 24-4A is gonna have some pretty decent teams in playoffs.

  19. WO-S is a power hitting team. Have to be able to throw some blocks at Teel to come out on top. They can be streaky but never look past them. Bears have a good program, been a tough year but not down. Keep at it.
  20. Went as expected then. Except maybe the Lumberton game. Really had no idea who would come out on top. Congrats to all the teams.
