  1. How'd it go over there in bear country??
  2. Silsbee Lady Tigers continue their District Title quest with another 3-0 victory over the Hardin-Jefferson Lady Hawks. (25-9, 25-16, 25-15) Outstanding perfomances once again from JRs E. Carmenar & M. Brooks!! Silsbee is now (6-1) in district, (21-6) overall, can maybe catch the TGCA pollsters attention and shed a little light on the highly competitive 24-4A. Side note: Silsbee JV 2-0 over HJ Freshman 2-0 over HJ
  3. I do not think so. Pretty sure the team captain(s) discuss any issues with refs.
  4. 24-4A is entering the second half of district play and with only one game left against their district opponents, there is much still to be decided. With a key matchup in store tonight there are a few teams looking to improve their district standing as well their playoff viability. Key 24-4A Matchup: (3-3) Little Cypress-Mauriceville vs (3-3) West Orange-Stark LC-M overcame HJ to add a much needed win to their side in order to stay within striking distance of (4-2) Orangefield and district front-runner (5-1) Silsbee. WO-S welcomed back the talents of their OH A. Teel and got back into the win column as a result of their victory over a game (3-3) HF team. WO-S is sporting the only win over (5-1) Silsbee and needs a win over (3-3) LC-M in order to close the gap towards a district title. Keep the Pace in 24-4A: (3-3) Bridge City vs (4-2) Orangefield Bridge City looking to bounce back against a loss to (3-3) WO-S and re-gain lost ground in the 24-4A race. Can they pull off another win against a tough Orangefield team and at the same time throw their hat back in the ring for a potential district title?? Orangefield lost to Bridge City way back on Sept 8 in their first district match of the season. Since then their only loss has been to a strong Silsbee team and after a key win against (3-3) HF, Orangefield is looking for payback on the road and also a chance to cement their spot in the playoffs. Avoid the upset at Home!! (5-1) Silsbee vs (0-6) Hardin-Jefferson Silsbee, after a bye week, is looking to keep paving their way towards a District Title since......yep, that long. With strong team play and only one loss to (3-3) WO-S in their first district game of the year, the Lady Tigers are riding a five game district win streak in to the second half of play. This is a sneaky game as all the Tigers remaining games are on the road. Hardin-Jefferson looking to get off the snod and log their first district win against a tough Tiger team. This has all the makings of an upset special and could turn this district head over heels and allow these Hawks to fly again.
  5. As of : 10/2/15 24-4A 1. (5-1) Silsbee (Lost to WO-S 3-2) 2. (4-2) Orangefield (Lost to Silsbee 3-0, BC 3-2) 3. (3-3) Hamshire-Fannett (Lost to Bridge City 3-2, Silsbee 3-1, Orangefield 3-0) 4. (3-3) Little Cypress-Mauriceville (Lost to Orangefield 3-0, HF 3-2, Silsbee 3-0) 5. (3-3) West Orange-Stark (Lost to LC-M 3-1, Orangefield 3-1, HF 3-0) 6. (3-3) Bridge City (Lost to Silsbee 3-0, LC-M 3-0, WO-S 3-1) 7. (0-6) Hardin Jefferson I believe this is correct. Did my best to try and see the tiebreakers up to this point. If I got it wrong, my bad.
  6. They have cracked the Top 15 as of the 5 Oct poll. TGCA Girls Volleyball Top 25 Poll
  7. Update your local teams results here!! Spread the word. Some great matchups throughout the area this week.
  8. This weekend was SMU, Midwestern & North Texas. Already visited TCU, Texas. Next up is Baylor and Texas State. Spent Sat at the TCU vs Texas game. That prob was a deal closer. 80-20 now..
  9. Per KOGT website: WO-S over BC 3-1 Orangefield over HF 3-0 LC-M over HJ 3-0 Deweyville over Buna 3-0
  10. Sorry. In Dallas on college visits. Silsbee has a bye so we took a trip. Good luck to all the teams this week!!
  11. 24-4A 1. (5-1) Silsbee (Lost to WO-S 3-2) 2. (3-2) Bridge City (Lost to Silsbee 3-0, LC-M 3-0) 3. (3-2) Orangefield (Lost to Silsbee 3-0, BC 3-2) 4. (3-2) Hamshire-Fannett (Lost to Bridge City 3-2, Silsbee 3-1) 5. (2-3) Little Cypress-Mauriceville (Lost to Orangefield 3-0, HF 3-2, Silsbee 3-0) 6. (2-3) West Orange-Stark (Lost to LC-M 3-1, Orangefield 3-1, HF 3-0) 7. (0-5) Hardin Jefferson I believe this is correct. Don't hold me to it.
  12. It wasn't anything really...just poking fun. We had one fan who was upset. You know how it is being a ref/umpire....50% Wrong or 50% Right. Depending on the homefield.
  13. Heard about that injury and that she was getting better each day. God Speed on her recovery. Power player for that team, but she'll be back and knowing her style, with a vengeance.
  14. Wanted to post this now since we are almost halfway thru District matchups. Maybe some of this will change by the time playoffs start. Top 25 TGCA State Volleyball Poll as of 9/28/15 TGCA Top 25 Volleyball Poll 2A #23 High Island (12-5) 3A #10 Hardin (25-3) / #12 Deweyville (26-4) / #17 Woodville (17-4) 4A #24 Huffman Hargrave (18-7) 5A #23 Goose Creek Memorial (18-6) / #30t Beaumont Ozen (22-7) Congrats to these schools and keep up the hard work.
  15. Anybody heard anything from the WO-S vs HF game? curious.
  16. Evadale's Hollyfield Victory Milestone Not much mentioned as a whole. Figured it needed to be posted for the rest to see. Congrats again Coach Hollyfield.
  17. Good job Lady Rebels. One more step towards the playoffs.
  18. Nice job Deweyville. Buddy told me that Kennedy Willis has been cleared for full smack down mode. Still recovering but no permanent damage.
  19. Silsbee Individual Game Scores (25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 25-21) Silsbee moves to 5-1 in District and should be in 1st all alone. According to my sources...
  20. Doesn't shock me much. Ozen has a few good hitters and played solid back row defense during the YMBL. Good win for Ozen against a fundamentally sound PNG team.
  21. Heard there were some "ref" issues in Silsbee..... lol.
  22. Those Lady Tigers play well together. Fantastic group who are super smart. Two seniors who are fighting to be valedictorian off the court. Great group of juniors, two more top 10% kids, one a possible valedictorian, two others have a great shot at college level ball. Had the pleasure watching most of them grow up. They start slow sometimes, may have cost them the WO-S match, but the stangs played tough. Its been tough learning the flow of this game. Stick with it. Only 32 rules.
