CARTHAGE VS. SILSBEE BROADCAST/Carthage wins 50-21

Should be 42 - 7. Carthage expanding playbook every series. Defense playing their hearts out but cant get off the field. Apparently we have nobody to carry the ball. Embarassing. -

ORANGEFIELD VS. SILSBEE BROADCAST/SILSBEE WINS 15-7!!!
Facemask penalty against orangefield was huge, still believe they missed that one!!! it changed the game!
It was a ball control game. Solid game plan because Orangefield was selling out on blitz packages. I counted 7 to 8 in the box ALL night, except for the max protect they dropped into occassionally. This made it almost impossible to break long runs for Silsbee and when they rolled out or play faked to pass Orangefield had 3 defenders in backfield as well as coverage. I was impressed by coaches from Orangefield. Glad to see it taking hold there. Once Silsbee stopped playing basic defense and started shooting gaps to disrupt misdirection it was over. Passing game for Orangefield was shutdown. Over half of passing yards came on one or two plays with busted coverage that went for 30+ each time. Silsbee had to abandon pass because of poor throwing on Reed's part. Has to improve accuracy. Must is a better word. In part, after 90 yard fumble return it was a matter of time for Silsbee's size and strength to take its toll. Great game Bobcats. Enjoyed football for first time on Homecoming for many a year. Thanks for that. Now take it to your Orange County brethren and "disrupt" the playoff picture. Go Tigers!! -

I thouroughly enjoyed watching this young man play in High School and at Lamar. Congrats to Collin and his family. Keep up the good work and god speed on the injury.

AAW, JJ has never played a collegiate game, you don't know what he will do. Silsbee high school and the competition in Class 3A are not even close to Lamar football and the SLC. Just because he was successful in HS doesn't mean it will translate to success on the field in college.
Come on.. Really People. ??? I seem to remember him being one of the top dual threat QBs in the country... Guess all those Div I teams scouting him as an athlete were completely wrong about his playmaking ability. ;) You could also say that West Virginia had no idea what they were doing when they brought him in either. Please... ::) I watched this young man do things on the field that will transfer to this level anyday. He man not be able to outrun every player on the field or make 5 -7 defensive players look like fools, but I am betting that if you put him on the field with other "talented" players who were stars themselves it will be interesting to watch. Of course I could be biased about the whole thing... ::)

Good to Silsbee developing some lineman. Loved the days of pounding the ground. Congrats to this young man and good luck. -
PAT KNIGHT to accept Lamar job!!

In listening to the opinionated, here is a phrase my father used to tell me... I am sure it was told to him at some point in his impressively productive life. "If you want to hear god laugh then tell him about your plans." Making the difference in young mens lives is what the goal should be. Winning is just one of the rewards in character development. And, unfortunately it is the only one people remember. Good Luck Coach Knight. -
the umps were terrible BC had worse calls on bases go against them Silsbee has a good team and the team to beat but when blue takes the inner half of plate away it a long night for pitcher that relies on that pitch I hope the umps will better next time
Pretty sure they are taking applications for new umpires. Plenty of room. I can make a call if you are interested or anyone else......
