  1. Current stadium for Rutgers (1st Picture) was built in 1994 for $30 Million Proposed project (2nd Picture) is $100 Million Just gives you an idea that for $30 million or so we could expand our stadium to the likes or similiar to Rutgers current stadium. I do not think ANYONE would have a problem with that stadium. Would bring the house down in my opinion. See Ya
  2. I know I haven't posted on this board in a while and especially have been quiet on this topic but what do you guys think of this stadium? It is similiar to what we now have except for the bowl effect which could be put into Lamar's Stadium quite nicely. I can imagine the seating to be perfect for our football atmosphere here in SETX. The colors are great and I get goose bumps just thinking about it. I have also included the new expansion project for this stadium to show our community what a $100 Million would get us today. This stadium cost $30 Million to build in 1994. I for one cannot wait for football to come back. I was 15 when the last game was held here and I remember going to games with my cousin as he was a senior at Lamar and I loved it. Have faith fellow football fans. We are ready for this and will have plenty of fans going. Here are the photos and the links to the website. I can't figure out how you guys paste the photos into the actual post and if COOP or one of the other moderators don't mind maybe they can edit this post and do it for me. Thanks. A new discussion begins. Current Scarlet Nights Stadium New Scarlet Nights Stadium
  3. I am with you here. Might be biased but this game sets the district tone early on.
  4. I remember this game. Game was horrible. K/O for TD, P/R for TD, 1 Fumble inside the 10 for TD. Silsbee played probably their worst game of the year after routing BC 55 -0 and HF showed up for their best game. Be glad you didn't run into them during their last 4 games. WOS 17 - Silsbee 6 WOS 34 - HF 7 HJ 7 - Silsbee 36 HJ 6 - HF 36 KV 29 - Silsbee 28 KV 68 - HF 29 JAS 40 - Silsbee 34 JAS 37 - HF 16 RED Teams are Playoff Teams. You won that game but do not count on that kind of game again. You lost to Orangefield who I still believe played their best season in a while, just unlucky.
  5. shoulda, coulda, woulda Sounds a little spiteful to me, but then again I am from Silsbee and I might feel bad for our guys right now. Check with me later and see if I still feel that way.
  6. I am glad and proud of our Tigers but I am even more grateful to the HJ team and Fans who have been a part of bringing to life a heated and storied rivalry game every year. Here is to the future of HJ and Silsbee Basketball!! Bring it Home Tigers!!
  7. How do you know all this stuff? Showing my age. I was around to see it. I went to the game. That was 71/72 The 1976 team with David Brown's younger brother Anthony, Artie Shankle, Larry Taylor and others went to the state tourney, as well as the 1983 team with Delton Harper and Darrell McArthur. Not totally sure but I believe Silsbee went undefeated all the way to the title game in '92 and lost. I could be wrong might be '91 or '93?
  8. Great game and a great win for them Tigers!! Now you guys go and get the respect you deserve from all the naysayers and pundits. It is your time. Silsbee is ready for a State Basketball Championship Team!!! Bring it home!!! Go Tigers.
  9. Are they still playing or what? I am at work need some updates, please.....
  10. I totally agree with you on the season ticket holders as well. I love how 1/2 the parking lot is empty because of the season ticket holders AND their reserved parking NOT showing up to the game. I don't know who decides how much of the parking lot to reserve but it should be about 1/4th of the amount they currently reserve. As far as big name colleges. I GUARANTEE you that Roc would schedule a home and home game any day of the week with Texas or ATM or even Duke or North Carolina. Possibly even a Big East school like Georgetown or Connecticutt but they wouldn't do it. For starters they don't have anything to gain. Secondly, the last Big East team that came here was Villanova the year after they won the national championship. We beat them by around 20 points so those Big East schools are too scared to come here. ATM and Texas have had the nads to come here in the past but they want us to schedule 2 games at their place to one at ours. After the way we've played as of late they probably don't want to come here and play. We would probably have to schedule 3 games at their place to one game at ours. The bottom line is that UT, ATM, Duke, NC, etc are a bunch of prima donna woosies that are too scared to come play here. And I would venture to say that there is NO WAY on earth that a Texas Tech or OU would come here because we could definitely beat them. Man, someone is fired up. Calm down big'en.....
  11. Regardless, this will come down again (Most Likely) to the Regional Finals. Give respect to both teams and enjoy the success that this district has every year in the playoffs. When, and I DO BELIEVE when, Silsbee wins state, the polls will start favoring them like they do these other programs. Silsbee has been so close many times and has never brought it home. They are due. Of course, once again, this is only my opinion. Chew on it. hahah.....ok so yall beat us by 2 at YALLS place with out 2 players that don't make a big difference (watching them play after they came back)....but we beat yall by 18 at are place and AGAIN at a NEUTRAL site by 22.....yall can't win state getting beat like that and yall cant be ranked getting beat like that ether I was referring to the rankings only moron. Silsbee doesn't need you're respect to perform, only their own confidence. Which by the way builds every year that they play deep into the playoffs. Enjoy you're run... and when the tides turn and those boots start hitting you're ribs then I will be laughing.
  12. Is this really gonna be allowed. This is an insulting and disgraceful statement to ascertain that the people who post here and reserve their opinion on this matter to be different than yours is a racist. Keep your hate to yourself. Don't try and spread it.
  13. Never seems to end with you, does it? Good game HJ. Benard was unbelievable. 30+ with at least 7 3's. Nasty. My biggest problem with the game consists of two things: 1) Who is the Head Coach for Silsbee? I sure hope he is working for peanuts. I only saw one play that resembled an offense. The rest of it looked like 8th street hoops on ESPN. 2) I enjoy the HJ hecklers, but, when they turn their back on the visiting team during announcements seems a little disrespectful to everyone. Not just the players but to those of us who still appreciate sportsmanship. JMO As I have said before If you want the respect you have to win the big games and the coaching did not have these guys prepared for HJ. Not even the slightest bit. Good Luck in the playoffs.
  14. Team from 92' was the best that I remember. Pee-Wee and all of them went undefeated to the championship game and lost a heartbreaker. Those playoff losses when they are that good are the reason there is no respect in the rankings. Like I said earlier. Win state and start building those championship bloodlines and then the respect comes.

  16. 5 Years Minimum.
  17. Who is this guy??? East Texas??? Do they even have a school that can compete down here in Football, Baseball and basketball? Matter of fact name one??? Give me a break. Toughest district in the state. Except our big brothers in 22-4A. Hands down.
  18. I will have to keep my eyes open. Didn't see anyone from 21-3A getting close to 90 last year. Of course, it looks a lot different from behind the plate.
  19. Rookie. Nobody coasts in this district. Silsbee 28 Jasper 27 I like the irony mentioned earlier but nothing will match up to that game. 8)
  20. It i a racquet no matter what town you live in over in Orange County. 20,000 people (give or take a few) and you have 4 schools all within 5-10 miles of each other, and 3 of them are 3A. Everyone knows that WOS benfits from their rich football history by bringing in some of the best talent in football as well as LCM, BC bringing in some of the best Baseball talent. Get over it. It is what it is. I for one agree with the idea that the student is responsible for their studies with the ultimate responsibility belonging to the parents. We won't even begin to discuss the PNG and Nederland arrangement. For pete's sake they have a drainage ditch seperating them. : Of course, this is just my opinion. Feel free to try and change it.
  21. Ouch!!!! Wish we would have caught them on a down week. The moon and stars were aligned the night we played them. Everything went there way.
  22. Battle of the Cats' in the bowl!!!! 8)
  23. What's Up Fellas... Seen all of the teams play now this year. One fact is sure. Rhodes will get his touches and touchdowns. If anything else happens in this game that will. Intangibles?? Sounds like K-Ville does not handle the spread very well. Orangefield 42 Points - They are getting better at it though. Silsbee is running it better every week and Jeremy is starting to make better decisions with the ball (Though there are still mistakes) as well as both RB's (C. Castle and C. Barnes) recognizing the holes being made. If Silsbee can avoid the mistakes like they did against WOS then it will be lights out. Calf rope as they say. Silsbee at home by 14. Enough said.
