Dayton vs. Kingwood Park Game Thread/Dayton Wins/Comments

This seems very familiar. Unnecessary turnovers and referees that will call any penalty imagineable unless it's on Kingwood Park. Broncs go ahead 14-0, but they will need to stay far ahead because these refs are letting KP get away with a lot of facemasks, horsecollars and late hits. -
You know where I'll be! They're not really my homer ref badgering....I repeat what Wadzeck throws out there. He really notices when the ball changes position on an incomplete pass. I never looked at that before but watch real close and watch how many incomplete passes turn into 2 & 9.
You can joke about that, but if the ref crew is the same as last week for KP you better watch out. Especially how they handle the time clock. Hopefully Dayton takes them to the woodshed so it isn't necessary to worry about the refs.

*DAYTON vs. LIVINGSTON Broadcast/ DAYTON WINS 28-24!!!!!

Dang! Dayton missed a field goal????? That kid from Dayton ALWAYS makes his kicks. Best kicker I've seen. That's a shocker. -
There is no clear favorite in the region 3 Division II bracket so I'll just take it 1 game at a time. The obvious 2 favs were taken down and it's pretty much a toss up now. Speculation is easy to say however it is just that...speculation. I prefer not to have crow thrown in my face so I'll sit back and watch others get theirs! One question though...why would you consider Dayton the clear favorite coming from a district who's teams overall records is 36-44?Furthermore, Dayton lost a close one to Angleton while Dawson wiped the floor with with Angleton on their home field 47-13.
Well I believe Dayton to be the strongest in the region based off of only one thing, Jerry Stewart. In my opinion a great coach goes a long way and even though I'm a homer for the Brenham Cubs, you just HAVE to respect Jerry Stewart. I tend to think that Dayton will outcoach the other teams in the region, plus their D is pretty strong. But hey, I predicted Brenham to win the region so what do I know LOL:)

As far as Division I goes, I think Humble probably has the best athletes in the region, although Dobbins from Montgomery is a monster.

While it was pretty clear the refs were either ignorant or there was some home cooking going on, it does not matter. The Cubs should have never let the game get close enough to be decided by a few seconds here and there. You cannot win games when you fumble 4 times within your own 30. I said this last week, that the Cubs were not playing up to snuff and if they played the way they did against Stratford against a team like Dayton, they would go down. Well turns out, it didn't even take a strong team like Dayton to capitalize on their mistakes. At this point, Dayton now becomes the strongest team in the region IMO.

If PNG v. Manvel takes place, who wins it?
Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Lets take it one game at a time.
Hence the word "if" in the title. -
La Marque vs. El Campo webcast...LM WINS 28-21!
ricko replied to xLmCoog88's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Is this vid or just audio? I click the link and get nothing so far. -
I was VERY impressed by PNG last night, not so impressed with Manvel barely hanging on to beat Terry. I assumed that Manvel would probably be the team to beat on that end of the bracket, but assuming Manvel beats Washington and PNG beats Willis/Mag West, who wins a PNG v. Manvel clash and why?

Bring home the W! I will be checking in for updates.
Thanks, I'll have them posted. Congrats on yalls win. After the game this afternoon, i'll be attending the Willis vs Magnolia West game and i'll be posting updates on it as well.
Cool. We get the winner of that game. Do some scouting for us! ;)
We've played Magnolia West already, so i've seen them.
Wasn't Mag West the school whose coach said Brenham would have to hang 38 on them to beat Mag West bc we couldn't contain their offense? Then they came to Cub Stadium and lost 55-0 lol.
Hey Ricko Livingston a soft touch well tell that to Hunstville,Jasper,PNG,and Nederland and ask coach Stewart and the rest his troops about the last time they took on soft touch Livingston? Broncs had to hang on and revcover a late onside kick to advance. So keep on running ya'lls mouth, if the Lions taker care of business Friday night the Broncos may well get a chance to feel the soft touch of Livingston let's hope so.
Hey Lionfan, I don't mean any disrespect toward Livingston's program. When I said "soft touch" I meant someone that was about on the level of the teams in Dayton's district (Crosby, Galena Park, Barbers Hill). I have actually picked Livingston to get that runner up spot in division II for a while now. I just don't think Livingston is on the level of a Brenham or El Campo. But we shall see, any team can be beaten on any given day.
Hey Ricko if Dayton beats Brenham this year I will get you a purple Bronco T shirt for our State run !
Right on! I actually have a Dayton T-Shirt somewhere lol. I have a Hardin Hornet shirt too lol. I can't hate on Dayton, I love that place. I remember eating at the Branding Iron and Los Compadres when I was there. Are those places still around?

And before I get jumped on, let me say, I love Dayton. I actually love all of Liberty County, it is such a homey and peaceful place. If I was able I'd move back there in a heartbeat, I have many friends and family there. But as far as Dayton this season, I just don't think they are as good as last year. I know that they have made strides since the first three games, but I think that's mainly due to a lack of competition. I mean, there are only two other teams in the whole district that even have a winning record. The combined record of all the teams in your district other than Dayton is 25-38. And I can understand early season issues, but when the big games came, Elkins, Ike and Angleton, Dayton didn't win any of them. Maybe the team has come together and can be a beast. But my fear is that they are going to get another soft touch in round 1 with someone like Livingston and then run into a buzzsaw when they play Brenham. Lucky for me, I live in Brenham, so no matter who wins the Brenham v. Dayton game I'll have someone to root for!
rickedra i am sorry ricko. after the brenham game we will not have room on our wagon for you. sorry. we definately want allow a D rider back in liberty county. SORRY
Nah, you can like more than one team. You can bet if Dayton and Brenham play in round two and Dayton wins, there will be more than one Brenham fan rooting you guys on in round 3. I'm sure it will be the same on the other side as well.
