1. I know we all talk and smack is smack......but SC is playing some pretty good ball right now. Should be quite an exciting district race. I like BH but I worry about our athleticism when we are spread out and made to play in space. Crosby and Ozen took advantage of that last year. I do not think we got any faster this year.
 2. Lee and Sterling was a great rivalry at one time.......I hate that even though it is still played it is nothing anymore. Lee also had a great rivalry with Port Arthur TJ for a very long time.......some good games in that history
 3. I ate at the one by Fina.....it was good.
 4. They run a triple option Rob.......a grind it out run the clock offense.....their fullback is a tough kid that can outrun alot of people if he gets into the defensive backfield but he does most his damage between the tackles.
 5. This board is not for personnal vendetta's. Again, I doubt any poster here wants crap from another board drug over here. As for whether you or anyone else can believe he is a moderator does not matter here. It appears all you are here for is to antagonize Buddy and not discuss Southeast Texas Sports
 6. I do not care what goes on over there......I am not on that site nor will i ever be. I do not always agree with Mr. Garrity and I doubt he always agrees with me. Personally, I wish you would take your fight with Buddy back over there. And if posts from another site start being plastered all over here........staff please remove them Back to the topic at hand.......I thought 21 points for SH was kind of high against LP
 7.
I think it is very hard to compare 2 teams so early in the season.  But isn't that what makes message boards!  I had heard on this board that Sante Fe and Clear Brook were competitive in their scrimmage.  From what I was able to see, that was not the case.  Clear Brook was clearly the better team.  And while I know that it is only a scrimmage, I would expect a much better team than Sante Fe on Friday night. One other thing to take away from the scrimmage was that the offense and the defense wore different colors for Clear Brook.  And for most of the night (and even then with rare exception), the players only played on Offense or Defense.  This is a big difference for a 5A team vs Vidor.  Vidor will have a number of players seeing significant time on both sides of the ball.  This may be a big difference come crunch time. Clear Brook almost beat LP.  CB attempted a 50 yd FG at the end of regulation.  And from the best I could tell it was just short a few yards.  CB did a good job of containing the LP offense.  And the LP offense used a lot of misdirection which could bode well for CB against Vidor.  In fact, of the 2 TDs that I saw CB give up in regulation, one of them was about a 40 yard, Half Back pass to a wide open WR (and I do not think that Vidor has that one in the playbook).  CB attempted their own HB pass with less success.  But LP moved the ball seemingly throughout the night.  CB came up big in the Red Zone with key stops and Takeaways.  I have not seen any of the Seven Lakes game. I think CB will be the fastest team that we have played so far this year and probably a little bit bigger.  They have 2 good RBs and from what I could tell multiple QBs that play as well.  There defense is big, fast and aggressive.  I thought #8, a defensive end, was quite the player.  It seemed like LP ran away from him more and more as the night went on.  But I would not count Vidor out, at all.  Neither of Vidor's game have been even as close as the score indicates.  CB is better than SF or BC, but CB needs to be about 40 points better than both of them for this to be close.  Vidor is healthy.  And they have not played as good as they can play yet.  So far, the turnovers and mistakes have been easily overcome.  That may not be the case on Friday.  If I had to make a prediction, I would say that both Kickers will be involved in the game on Friday.  And that both Kickers will have 2 or 3 FGs.  I think Vidor will be able to eek out 1 more TD than CB, and so I will say Vidor will win 27-23.
That was me that said that but I thought I prefaced it by saying I only saw about 15 plays before I left. CB ended up wearing them out. Believe me, I will not discount Vidor at all but this will not be Santa Fe either
 8. I agree with Buddy here......this is a great forum.......this Blake kid is a tool that just wants to down other programs. Personally I could care less what LP or PAM do this year.....as long as they hammer Katy if and when they meet
 9.
To answer ones earlier question...Yes PNG before Faircloth did take a knee, but that was a coaching regime that was from this area. When asked about it Faircloth was a little suprised.  Having coached in West Texas, CenTex and Dallas he stated this was the only area that he had ever seen do that. He explained that having athletes kneel then get right back up and go full speed can lead to injury. Anybody who has goten down on one knee for any length of time then got back up can attest to that. His rule is not out of any disrespect. Spend five minutes with the Gentleman and you will realize that he holds every young man on that field, be it friend or foe, in high regards for the efforts they put in to the game they love. Also, when a PNG player gets hurt, we don't get down on a knee either.  My daughter plays Softball year round and when a player gets hurt, no one takes a knee. I have been to a bunch of basketball games at the HS and college levels and never have I seen anyone take a knee when a player gets injured! And this includes the very schools that some of you that are pointing the finger at PNG are from. So if it's OK in all other HS sports then why do local yocals make a big deal about it each year on Friday Nights? My take is it's just another chance for some to point the finger this way and say we think we are better than everyone else...Well glass houses!!!
I am with you badndn.....I don't think anyone that does not "kneel down" is being disrespectful. I think there are things that should stop (bands playing etc....). I just fan the flames on here from time to time......LOL
 10. OK.....I couldn't remember.....Larry's is good as I recall......I worked at the BASF plant years ago and we ate there often
 11.

Looking foward to the trip. Want to witness the PNG atmosphere I've heard about on this site. Also here there's a good seafood restaurant at 69 and 365.
That's the Schooner. Great restaurant. If you get there and decide you don't want seafood, they also grill a great steak. They make some great au gratin as well. Larry's on 366 in Groves is also good for seafood and cajun food and if you get hungry for Mexican food, Tequila's on Gulfway in Port Arthur (not the one on 69) isn't too far out of the way and is definitely worth the detour. If you want BBQ, it's hard to go wrong with Billy Joe's on 366 in Port Neches and a favorite for hamburgers (as mentioned on this site) is Hambuger Depot on Nederland Avenue in (obviously) Nederland. Living so far away has made me put together a list of all the places I want to eat at when in town. ;D
Isn't there a place down by the Fina plant......Judices?

The first day of school he came home and said guess what I learned today at school? I was thinking couty, spelling, etc.. He said they taught us "Cherokee". The next day he comes home with a feather, and I asked where he got it from. The response "Indian Spirit". I told him to throw it away before he gets the swine flu. The next day he comes home and he's wearing a beaded necklace and I'm like what the heck is going on at school. Response was it's Wampum beads! After 14 years there, I've finally got the purple cloud out of my head and kids. Eagle Pride!  ;D
PNG......aTm........it is a cultish thang Like I said, it borders on indoctrination. They start 'em young. I'll say this though. If PN-G and BH play again anytime soon, I bet y'all will feel the urge to stand for Cherokee.
15.
I predict a very short game with both teams running the ball 95% of the time. District Stadium is the same as Veterans Memorial Stadium. It was renamed a couple of years ago. It is a fun environment. Fans are right on the action. There is no track so it is only about 10 yards from sideline to the stands.
Sorry, I thought he was referring to Memorial stadium in Pasadena
 16. The taking a knee thing is over rated.......just like PNG was
 17.
I think the Pirates are on track but BC did show where we need work.  Our offense looked great, averaging over 9 yds per carry, but defensively our secondary had some holes in it and we sure didnt tackle very well this past week.  Clear Brook will be a real test to see if we can tackle better.  I know we didnt even attempt a pass Friday night, but I didnt expect us to show some of the wrinkles that are being worked on, at least until district play rolls around.  Overall, I like the team that we have and those kids are progressing.  Lets see how we do against a 5A opponent.
Against Brook you will need to tackle well.......should be a good game
 18.
Veterans Memorial Stadium...thanks
I thought this game was at District Stadium.......it is listed as a home game on CB's schedule
 19. Summer creek by many
 20. CB has athletes and #22 running back can go........their pass defense is horrible
 21. Was at the Clear Brook/Seven Lakes game last night. Brook had it won.........blocked an extra point in OT but the ball was still live as Brooks team ran on the field to celebrate. SL got a rekick and tied it again
 22. Back to the topic at hand.......Brook played em tough....it will be interesting to see how LP comes back this week. Who cares about Katy
 23.
Surely we will all be watching the DNC and our presidents acceptance speech. To do otherwise would be un-american.
