Port Neches-Groves vs Montgomery
Eagle11 replied to adminbaberuth's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
BH can't win it because they aren't from 17-4A and that is against the rules -
So beating PNG twice, no matter how early in the year does not speak anything? That is interesting.

People need a gold ole fashioned politician who absolutely means business and all that fancy stuff is not needed! A real politician that knows what's going on anywhere and everywhere!
::) And would your first order of business be the banning of flip flops?
Only in church.....LOL

That or future aggy yell leaders

That looks like daytons offensive line

also replacing 3 out of 4 linebackers I believe.......you have to have the next group prepared but it makes it tough

Flip flops should only be for wearing around the house, the beach, or the pool! I can't believe that parents think it's OK to let their children dress whatever they feel like dressing to church on Sunday mornings! More than 50 years ago, the majority of the men wore slacks, dress shirts, and ties as well as dress shoes to church and women wore hats and gloves as well! Now, they wear like sports jerseys, shorts, and sneakers! That would be acceptable on Sunday evening services when most pastors wear like khakis and a button-down or polo shirt on those nights! I was taught to wear my modest Sunday best! I respect that the times have changed since them but those who are Catholic and Mormon never thought it's acceptable to dress like they do to Sunday morning services! We should go back to the tradition of dressing up for church as well as eating out?
So we go from a coach leaving players on a road trip to what people dress like? What's wrong with flip flops? I wear them almost everyday, does that make me a bad person? Does that mean I think I am owed something? Come on wow. I am sorry this isn't the 50s anymore, I am sorry I didn't have to walk a mile to school uphill both ways. Does it really matter what they are wearing? They are still going to church. Is changing the way people dress going to somehow make them better people, is it going to make them better christians? I don't think so.
It is respect. As an 11 year old through high school I did not like the dress up thing or see its relevance but I did not dare argue with dad. I would never wear flip flops to church. Very disrespectful. Also.....not aimed at you falcon........pull those dang pants up and stop trying to be some thug you aren't.
I agree with the pulling up your pants thing, but he was talking about wearing shorts and tennis shoes to church. Doesn't seem that drastic to me.
It is with many because it was just something we did not do. I do not think it makes one better than the other and church is not a fashion show but out of respect for the place you are in and the people who are there I still like a little higher dress code. But here we go with age differences again. When I was a kid and the preacher saw me talking in church in our little group away from parents, he shut down the sermon and had my dad come get me and take me back to his seat. This was a church of 300 so it took a minute with everyone watching. I hated that man for a week or so but you know what? It never happened again. He would have been run out of town today for embarrassing little Johnny or Susie

Tongue in cheek falcon.......nothing intended. I also do not expect you to agree with me. You are 22 and see the world through different eyes. It would be interesting to be on here when I am 73, you are 47 and see how perceptions may change. When I was 14 - 20 my dad, rest his soul, was the dumbest man I knew. When I turned 40 and my kids were teenagers I thought he was a genius.
KIDS today......one word......UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! They are cruel!!! And they will destroy anyone at any cost, doesn't matter who you are - heck that's the mentality of parents these days.....Parents need to go back to parenting and Administrator/teacher/coach needs to break out the paddle..... I dont' feel these kids were put in harms way either and if that was my kid that had been left at the store, the COACH would be the last person i'd be looking for.....This generation needs to be taught RESPECT!!!!
I agree 100% sir........but........respect starts at home. The child must respect him/herself and their family first and that is where the problem originates.
-
We will leave it at that and just disagree I guess........but there is a huge since of entitlement now. I have to work now, no government checks here.
-
Lots of positions to fill this next year. Lost a ton of experience.
-
I do not think O-lineGuru is narrowing it down to just this incident. Overall kids are very different today than in the 80's. We were different than kids in the 50's and 60's. I am 48 and kids today, in general, have a since of entitlement. I have many teachers in my family and I am engaged to a teacher. They all will tell you that kids, behaviors and the way the school can deal with both are very different than when I was in school.
-
Kids in this generation are very different than we were in my generation. Sure, we did stupid crap and acted like kids but never treated a teacher/coach the way they are allowed to treat them today. First would have been the whoopin from coach then the worse whoopin at home.......that is what these kids today are missing. Now back to the discussion.......leave their butt and call their mommy

Whatever his role is for this team, his mom and I are very proud and are looking forward to a bright future. GIGEM
notblu, I agree completely. Grayson has a very bright future ahead of him. Good player and a great kid. However, you blew it with me with the GIGEM part... ;) HOOK EM HORNS ! Seriously, Kendall and I wish him the best.
Saw em' off! Whoop!
Gotta come up with a new phrase too there Brenham guy.........no sawing off anymore.....not that the ags ever got to saw much anyways...... ;D

UIL Baseball Districts for 2012-13 and 2013-14

Sometimes you can just shake your head on what UIL does, but that is the way it is. Enjoy those long drives south
You can thank REL for that. They were the furthest school south that the UIL could attach to the Galveston schools. Of course, they cannot split GCM and REL. If the shifting popultion trend keeps up in Baytown, REL will be 3A in two years.
If they even continue to exist at all.......I think Baytown is headed back to a 2 school system. -
I personally think they are too far apart even though the schools may not be far the people who go to Hardin and daisetta don't exactly live in the city. So this would make it very hard to combine and even if the distance wasn't a problem they never would combine
Hardin's school district runs over 20 miles north of the school...Liberty's runs west to the trinity river and south to the county line...Daisetta runs east to pretty much the Hardin county line... Combining these schools would mean that there would pretty much be 1 school taking up almost the whole county. I doubt that will happen....but I have been wrong before
A combination of Liberty, Hardin, and Daisetta would be a terrible idea when considering football, you'd have the same 22 starters from Liberty but your bench would grow and we would move up to 4A with this same team that finished 7-3 and didn't make the playoffs in 22-3A...Terrible idea
Very True LP
I'll help too, I have nice trailer and will pay for gas.
Haha. ;D If they really want to move, I can see if Blue Bell CAN find an opening for their parents. ;)
Well Brenhamfan, it isn't the Oil and Gas connection that Permian and PNG enjoyed in the 60's and 70's but you have to use what is available..... ;D
