Get real. Unless YOU are (a) a member of the LISD school board or ( the LISD superintendent, YOU cannot be “POSITIVE†of the affects on the AD decision. And until that school board socio-economic mix matches that of the school population (which it does NOT with 6 WASP males and 1 B female), no one can be absolutely certain that this decision was made with the best interest of all the students and community in mind. ;D And it’s my opinion, if all else is equal, a hometown guy will be the better choice, especially if he’s one that can introduce “drastic change†and a “good disciplined foundationâ€, while at the same time having established relationships within the community and relating well to the kids. Let me understand this: The Board members are stupid, cowards, and racists yet at the same time all are successful in life and respected enough to get elected to one of the more difficult jobs there can be with no pay at all---what an ignorant post!

Budgets-Athletic in this case-can be shuffled around regardless of what the site-based committee does--it is approved by the board after the fact. This appears to be someone with an ax to grind or just plain incompetence--whatever the case it is disgraceful

After reading some of this it is no wonder the board had trouble finding someone---with supporters like this......... even if it is not your guy that got the job--for crying out loud give the man a chance

I'm with you Diamond-J...strategy on every pitch. I guess you have to know the game to love the game. Even though the strike zone is the same, I would much rather throw to the 8 foot tall guy than the three foot. ;D Baseball= ho-hum. I was an all-star first baseman in Houston as a teenager, so I knew a little about the game. My interest led me to focus more on basketball= exciting, challenging, and more girls came to basketball games............enough said! WOW an All-Star player as a teenager--you must really know your stuff--I did not realize that you were an expert----GO BACK AND READ AND YOU WILL FIND THAT IT WAS NOT THE BASEBALL GUYS THAT BROUGHT UP THE SUBJECT ON THIS BOARD--- IT WAS YOU!

I agree. But, until we start getting more participation in athletics, I dont think anything will change. I think we should just cut the football program, invest the old football budget into gold bonds. Then we could wait until the Euro surpases the dollar by another $1.50. Then we can all have new chemistry books and maybe even soap in the boys bathrooms. Maybe the schoolboard could just get this over with that way they could worry about all the other problems L.I.S.D. has....because I can promise you that FOOTBALL COACH shouldnt be at the top of their agenda.. yeah I agree with PantherPlaya09 I do not know anything about the rest of their staff---Admin, Prin, Teachers, etc or the condition of the schools----but I would assume that if Athletic Dept-from AD on down to the track is in such dissarray then the district needs some serious help

It is a common misconception but the size of the batter has nothing to do with the strike zone---it is defined to the size of an average player but it is the same if you are 3 feet tall or 8 feet tall

Joe is really something with his feet. I have seen the video and you can actually see him stop, turn around, kick the door shut, and resume running and it is simply amazing. Of course you must be able to freeze frame it between the 1278 and 1279 frame to see it. The kid is amazing!
