  1. Shouldnt his coaches be helping him? I would bet that they are helping--you just have to find they right "fit"
  2. IMO--a better idea would be to let the board do their job---if they blow then sign up and enter the arena
  3. I am sorry this happened to the BH kid. The fact is that all kids need guidance and some just do not get it at home or anywhere else. It does not mean we give up on the kid as our prisons are full enough. It does mean that discipline from his school or coach should be swift and severe.
  4. We will have to see what L-towns' Superintendent has to say about it
  5. Ozen is in a class by itself. They will win this one by 12 or more.
  6. I agree--Lumberton resumes its rightful place---with the bottomfeeders. This prediction coming from the person who guaranteed a Dayton victory over Lake Travis. The Raiders will be in the mix. Dayton better hope that they have something else coming in. The JV and Freshman squads didn't look like world beaters last year. You are mistaken---I NEVER guaranteed anything---this comes from a guy who justs looks at the evidence and makes a prediction. The evidence is that there are a lot of seniors on your Cinderella squad and not much else-----with Dayton gone and four teams going to the playoffs you MIGHT sneak in--but I doubt it
  7. I agree--Lumberton resumes its rightful place---with the bottomfeeders.
  8. very well said---
  9. Coaches should call the pitches most of the time---but is does add an element of excitement to the game when the catcher does it---especially if the catcher is a "student of the game". It is also valuable training if the kid intends to play at the next level.
  10. I agree completely----if proven they should be fired
  11. after all of this arguing the point is still the same---Vidor gets whipped by Ozen this time around
  12. DickV has this one right---ain't gonna happen
  13. soulja---Why was the crowd so small and the gym so quiet last night? The last time Dayton played at Central the place was very loud
  14. I was shocked as well but Dayton finally decide to play defense---maybe it is not to late
  15. Jags have to be a big favorite--Dayton has a couple of key players that just cannot bring themselves to play defense--has killed us all year long and probably will again tonight
  16. and he is humble as well
  17. I agree. This has to be a parent/son/coach decision with the parent and son making the ultimate call. Any parent that would not do what is best for his child is not worth his salt---regardless of what the community at large thinks about it.
  18. I appolgize to Trad---the "Dick Theory" is much more appropriate--in fact it is perfect
  19. You asked the question "why"---the above is my answer to YOUR question--now that I have answered it that is all that I have to say---enjoy your day
  20. According to your "Lumberton Theory" then Dayton should have beaten the crap out of Vidor---but Vidor beat the crap out of Dayton---AND the reason you are getting called out is that this kind of thinking is obsolete and grotesque--leave it in the past where it belongs
  21. According to DickV--as I remember it---Vidor has the same problem as Lumberton---I guess his theory is now debunked--has been for a while Central should win this one but if Vidor plays with extreme discipline they could pull off the upset--I'm going with Vidor at home by 2---with freethrows being the difference
  22. The AD at Dayton has been here for 12 years--most of his staff as well--------no doubt it is a tremendous benefit
  23. Congrats to Vidor--you played a great game last night ----good luck in the playof hunt and beyond
  24. Dayton is in trouble this year--no doubt about that---however Frank Smesny was overlooked--8-0 last season as Varsity pitcher--winningest 4A pitcher in Greater Houston and good enough to be a top pitcher on an elite select team--Kyle Chapman \ I agree that Smesny was overlooked...I missed him myself...I would've had him at honorable mention. However, in Greater Houston 4AAAA, Hales (BH) and Thamm (BH) were both near the top in wins (11 & 10 ) , ERA (.69 & 1.59 ) , and strikeouts ( 123 & 113 ). Both were also named Honorable Mention All-State. That's not to take anything away from Smesny, kid's a good pitcher. And yes, I admit it...I'm BH biased. ;D With that said, great work guys on the list. We appreciate your effoerts. Smesny did not have the most wins--but he and another kid had identical 8-0 records---Hales and Thamm are more seasoned and surely have a better defense behind them-BH probably has the best pitching staff in the area--Smesny's time to shine will be in 2009
  25. The OC at Dayton is Coach Nations--Liberty would be very lucky to get him-----may have to raise their pay scale
