  1. Dayton fans do not travel well--they listen to the game on 99.9 in Liberty. The fact is that Dayton fans are spoiled. Some of us do not remember the 4-41 record before the Jerry Stewart era. We have forgotten that we used to be EVERYONE'S HOMECOMING. Dayton has made the playoffs for 12 consecutive years and it is now somehow expected......welcome to Dayton PNG fans but the game will be decided on the field and we appreciate you folks spending money at the concession stands.
  2. John Gable AND Fred Hynson---both were starting linebackers. These two from Dayton and Depaulrick Garret from WOS were ejected---Gable was thrown out right before halftime and the refs notified Dayton that Hynson was gone during the halftime break. All three were ejected for fighting.
  3. What do you base "the better defense" on????
  4. For the record there were TWO ejected right before the half.
  5. Cody Green, Evan Brown, Dylan Bethea, and Gregory Charles---3 full time and 1 sometime starter---I would call that a ton---Everyone is back now except Green
  6. It sounded "that" way to me as well---it is a shame but there are still a few of those still among us. If you want a glimpse of James "wisdom" just check out a few of his most recent posts.
  7. It appeared to me that SOME of Ned's players quit on the rest of them. I saw one player leave in the 3rd with what appeared to not be a serious injury and a UT commit made to look weak by a kid six inches shorter and 80 lbs lighter-----IF the real Ned Dogs get up off the floor and play like their tradition demands of them then they can win this game---If not then they will they beaten by 35 or more----time will tell--I predict that Ned's players and coaches reach back to that tradition and play "Bulldog" football and win a squeaker 14-13.
  8. When constructing the stadium Dayton had to decide on a reasonable amount of seating---somewhere between the 125 fans that Central brings and the expected 125,000 that PNG will bring. We settled on about 3000-3500
  9. Offense-- Ronnie Powell--Dayton Broncos Powell was 9 for 9 on PATS and consistently kicked the ball inside the 5 yard line to pin the return man in the corner--he also caught the fourth and goal pass---sticking it at the pylon to make the score 14-0
  10. I gave the kid-Ford Smesny- his first and last name 18 years ago as of Friday night----it has been screwed up many times to the point where now it is a family joke of sorts just to see how many different ways it can be mangled--I assure you we do not get upset about it anymore.
  11. If Dayton beats PNG then it is a 3-way tie and goes to the point spread. If Dayton wins by more than one point then Dayton is the Champ---I do not know of any scenario with Lumberton being District Champ----someone correct me if i am wrong.
  12. I guess I had it wrong all year---I did not know Dayton beat Lumberton---Lumberton beat Dayton 8-7 with 14 ticks on the clock--a loss is a loss is a loss. With that being said the Broncos did have 4 starters out with injuries then---we are now healthy and it shows. The Dayton coaching staff made the changes needed and hats off to them for doing a great job------There is no question the Broncos are a heck of a lot better now.
  13. BH will be fine. They have a great program and coaching staff. The competition should not get to cocky--they will remember it.
  14. It was not a brag---just a statement. After all Hall was just the latest in a string of victims. All Lumberton did was hit the short, underneath routes which Dayton was giving--and that is NOT a reflection on the DBs but it was enough for the tightest of victories but a win nonetheless. The Dayton team Lumberton squeaked by is not the same team which will face Nederland---I hope to see you folks in the third round.
  15. It was one of the corners--but that has been rectified---for a better look at this particular DB get the game film and check out his individual coverage of Derrick Hall last week
  16. He has started in 22-4A for two years and in 19-4A for one---nobody has had anywhere close to a big game on him and I would bet he has seen as good as you have to offer.
  17. After reconsidering I don't think Dayton has any "worthy" DBs---perhaps the O-line needs to go both ways and handle the secondary
  18. Another interesting stat is thru 5 district games Dayton has only trailed for 14 seconds--the final 14 seconds of the Lumberton game resulting in a loss---
  19. I did not know anybody said we had to cover only one reciever and unless I counted incorrectly there will be more than one DB on the field. Your passing game will not be effective--your only chance is to run the ball....Dayton wins 26-13---and that includes us being hosed by at least 7 pts.
  20. Maybe Kelly should play ALTO----you people from Kelly are dreaming
  21. This has to be a joke--right? 22-4A would destroy Kelly
  22. He can not cover everyone--but he has shut down everyone's number one receiver--Barnes, Dugat and Fontenot will take care of the rest of them--This will be a Defensive battle--despite all the talk of of the mighty offense.
  23. Does a Texas High School Football ALL STATE DB count?--Nobody has successfully thrown on Dayton all year--Ned will be no exception.
  24. Central will not roll over--expect a hard fought game with Central being within a TD at the end of 3 qtrs. Dayton pulls away at the end to win by 17.
