It might be because they had a horrible season--after all Dayton swept the district and had only two

Henry Dugat starts for Baylor and as of last week was the leading scorer on the team.

Ozen by 12 or more

It will take a lot more than Mathews. I really wish you folks would get that program up and running--the competition would be nice.

4A Standings? How Does This District Pan Out?
JS replied to NoWeakness's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Dayton will be competitive this year. We do have two good pitchers and a mature team. Our future pitchers look very good---two freshmen and one sophomore. The sophomore will pitch for varsity this year. He is young but will contribute. The biggest change is a new coach with a new attitude. The team looks to respond very well under the direction of Coach Craus. The baseball people in Dayton are looking forward to the season. -
You and the entire media are wrong----the game film clearly shows Ford Smesny blocked the PAT----it hit him right in the chest!
-
Ford Smesny from Dayton--all district and all region in 2005 as a sophomore--this year 6 picks, several fumbles forced and recovered and the biggest play in 22 4A--blocked the Central PAT to secure the win and the District Championship for Dayton
-
Excuses.......every team has its woulda, coulda, and shoulda-----a loss is a loss
-
Coach Craus took the job in June. The teams key players are: D. J. Massey-Catcher Andy Dewey-SS/P Jacob Pickle-1st/P Travis Smesny-OF Soph to watch; Frank Smesny-P/3rd
-
Coach Craus was the former assistant baseball and is the current football reciever coach in Dayton. He was promoted when Coach Deberry took the job in Huffman. Coach Craus will work extremly hard and brings a fresh attitude to the Broncos. We expect to do very well under his direction.

Derek Massey-catcher--Dayton Broncos -
A great game with ONE great team.
-
QB's name is Cody Green. He had a really good year but made a few "rookie" mistakes. His years to shine will be next year and 2008. Dayton's offense was pretty good---but after WOS took us to the woodshed the defense was revamped with Smesny and Dewey having a much more significant role and allowed only 48 points in district play.
-
I would not argue with any of those picks. I would have to give strong consideration to both Dayton FS--Ford Smesny and Andy Dewey---both had very good years and were instrumental in the type of defense that Dayton played.
-
I predict that Lumberton goes undefeated with all 8th graders on the varsity squad. They will win state and play the Dallas Cowboys in an exibition game to prove they are for real. Lumberton wins it 128-0.

I hope this site does not ignore Dayton like it did in football. Top Players: Andy Dewey--Senior-SS/pitcher D.J. Massey--Senior-catcher Players to watch: Frank Smesny--Sophmore-pitcher Andy Broyles--Junior-pitcher -
I would nominate the entire Dayton defense--what a great year!
-
This L-town guy is STUUUUUPID!

Dayton did not come to 22-4A by choice. It is w/o question some of the best, if not THE best football in the state of Texas. While some folks resented us comimg to "their" district, most people were very gracious and welcomed us in. To those people I say "thank you". Dayon along with Central and Nederland will carry the district into the playoffs. We PROUDLY represent ALL teams in 22-4A and hope we have your support as well.

Central vs. Barber's Hill Predictions?
JS replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The ONLY way BH wins this game is for them to win the turnover battle by at least 3. If Central controls the ball they win it easily. The weaker district will show itself-Central 49-13 -
Nederland vs. Galena Park Predictions?
JS replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Dayton is the only team that held Mosely under a hundred yards--GP is not Dayton--Mosely will have over 250 yards and Nederland will win handily 42-21 -
Whats your greatest coach's quote?

Coach Stewart on being moved into Golden Triangle " It's the 'Big 12' of high school football but we are going there to play- we didn't ride into town on the onion truck-we will compete" AND COMPETE HE DID!
