I seem to recall the same type of comments a few years ago when another 19-4A team was moved to 20-4A and then, and then.....................................................................then the butt kicking by the Broncos began
 2. I picked Crosby to win handily---wrong, wrong, wrong---congrats to Vidor, the Pirates are for real!!!
 3. Crosby will put a "beat down" on Vidor---winning by at least 17 points
 4. BH wins by 14 or more---Crosby has talent but is not in the ballpark with BH

 6. Champions are built on defense and in that area the Hill is definitely for real---BH takes this one easily by 14 or more.

Were not going to blow teams out this year by 40 points . We have a potent offense and the skills postions are loaded and guided by the best QB in the leage. Our line is young on both sides of the ball I think maybe some of the bigger players on offense need to go both ways to help shore up our small D line. Lee had some studs in the backfield and they had great game. All in all I think we will be just fine . Folwer has a sprang ankle and recovering from a horse collar tackle from the BH game Delisbore #1 is looking beter all the time the coaches are bringing him on slow .
Good post Jay. My thoughts exactly. Defense came up big when they needed to. Ironically enough, this is one of the best secondarys I've seen over the last few years, as far as INT's and knockdowns are concerned. Just that they're having to make too many tackles on run plays. Also agree with someone earlier, we need big #12 back. He's a beast!
"one of the best secondarys  I've seen "????? you might need to view some game films of Bronco teams for the last few years
2007 secondary was by far the best.  In the last three years, this might be one of our best.  Last year St. Andre playedas a freshmen in the secondary and had a great game last night.  We need #12 back.
I stand by my statement. There have been more physical groups yes, but against the pass (which is what I was referring), this team seems to have more of a nose for the ball. Maybe the scheme has changed a bit, I don't know. Seems like they're reading the QB better nowadays. I saw some of those previous great squads get burned over and over by a good passing attack.
And I stand by mine 06, 07, and 08 were all much better in the secondary. Opposing teams had no choice but to pass more as Dayton always had a beast in the nose guard spot and the run was stopped cold. They would then try to pass and.....game over.

This freshmen team has a very good chance of being a special group--both sides of the ball

Glalena Park had some some athletes their front line was pushing us around like teddy bears. With our QB & reciever core we would be State bound with their linemen. Intensity was up with some young players on defense breaking out the wood. Got to give the game ball to our QB for fending off pressure all night and making some great passes , not to mention great catches by our recievers .
I would have to give it to Sullivan (#2) 2 picks - 1 for a TD and a fumble recovery - and for layin the wood all night! Great game son!
I am with you Hawkeye--Sullivan had a game that he will remember the rest of his life---great job!
 14.
Man, you guys are hard.  That game was likely the district championship game, even though it was week one.  Even with without crosby getting beat by Lee, no BH or Dayton fan expected Crosby to sweep the district.  I don't want to look ahead (yes I do) but barring some strange circumstances (poor play or injuries), BH should be able to win the remainder of their district games.  That being said, BH just put a big bulls-eye on their back and everyone, especially Crosby, will come gunning with nothing to lose.
BH goes the rest of the way w/o a loss---no question about it.
 15.
Bronx D better step it up, all I'm going to say, I can see where a team might celebrate after beating Dayton in a district game, I can remember Dayton doing a little celebrating after beating Jasper..... way back in 98 I think it was.
That was a big win for us---Jasper had owned most of the state in those days and Dayton had been nothing short of pathetic for a few years before Jerry Stewart came here---That game was when most of the town realized that we had someone special leading the Broncos.
 16.
Print the t-shirts! It sounds like this race is over. The rest of us are chasing our tails.
Not just yet but without question they are now the favorite.
 17. Congrats to the Eagles. They beat Dayton in all aspects of the game--offense--defense, Dayton was out hustled and out played. BH offense played their ball control style and had the Dayton D exhausted by mid-way in the 4th. BH defense was even more impressive--# 32 is a BEAST. When Dayton got a gift late in the 4th on a turnover, all we needed was a couple of first downs to kick a game winning field goal and steal the game with no time on the clock, the BH defense was having none of it. In all likelihood the Eagles won the District Title last night and I look for them to make a deep run in the play-offs. Congrats again. I love my Broncos but it is gut-check time now---we will see what we are made of. And that is how I see it.
You are right.  Price did a great job of mentoring those kids over there, but that was not good enough for you all.  Winning, putting kids in school, having a complete athletic program.  Man, it is hard to work for the Hill when you do a great job with what you are given... Gage has proved nothing yet at the Hill.  He has graduated one class and that class was raised by Coach Price.  The jury is still out on Gage and his impact on Barbers Hill.
Not taking cheap shots at kids! These kids have since graduated and are men now 8) The comment was made about the coaches teaching by example at BH. Well I'm just saying our football players are not turning into Criminals or lack the eductaion to pass a college course! Our coaches and staff and community at BH do lead by example which would explain why we compete in everything that the UIL can offer and then some. Don't care if you like Gage, BH or not just stating the facts 8) walking away from soap box while mooning ;D

Mr. Prices' mortal sin was that he could not compete with the Broncos---Mr. Gage will eventually suffer the same fate.
