i love the excitement Bluedove brings to the board with talk of Jr. High basketball.  I agree with him that there is a special kid in HF, could end up being one of the best atheletes in SETX.  Let's assume he is the best athelete in SETX in 3 years, what else will he have around him?  HJ does not have the best atheletes.  Look at Navasota, Cleveland, and Silsbee (i did not see KTZ play).  They all had better atheletes as a whole, but lack a higher level of coaching.  As i have grown older, i have come to realize coaches play a bigger role in the game vs the athelete.  My piont is HF is a lot more than an athelete from a district title.  It will be nice to see them competitive.  Hang in there Blue.

I agree with Fan.  I want to start by saying i am not a Silsbee hater.  I was at the game Saturday and was not impressed by the play of either team.  Silsbee had the better atheletes by far, but appear to lack good discipline.  Some of the coaching moves left me wandering what they were thinking.  Speaking of coaching, that is the only reason HJ was in the game Saturday.  Coaching can make a big difference.  I would like for Silsbee to win and show the strength of district 21-3A.  Good Luck Tigers.

i wasn't trying to down play the impact of Donahoe or other HJ players that have come and gone.  I watched RR and played with RR in high school.  Overall, one heck of an athelete.  To average 30+ points a game, w/o the 3 point line, was sick.  I remember a game in Lumberton where he took the ball on a 2 on 1 fast break and this poor kid from Lumberton stood in the lane to take a charge, which he did, but he also got a face full of RR shorts, dunked on and his picture on the BE or Hardin CO news sports page.  Not exactly the way you want to be seen in the paper.

sorry SETXSLAM, no offense intended towards you or Donahoe, but Donahoe couldn't carry his jock.  I don't think anyone out of Sour Lake was on the same level.  There have been some good players too. The car accident was unfortunate.  Coach Breithaupt (now UIL BIG CHEESE, Dr. Breithaupt) spoke at the service.

No contest.  Rocky Rocquemore.  Lead the state in scoring (84-85?) average 30+ points a game. 

AAW, I hope you took care of those golden pipes last night after the game.  Nothing like a cold frosty beverage to help out.  Whiskey and Honey will also work. i will bet that LAZEEK finds a way to refrence Tim Tebow or WWE.  I don't think he will drop any profanity, but i guess the fans of the airwaves will have to patrol that.  

danm those are two big kids.  i predict lots of out side shooting tonight for HJ.  Ricosa (?) just doesn't have the mass to bang with these two.  Run and gun and wear them out.

Thanks for the heads up.  That just adds to the reasons as to why i will watch it in person vs on line. 

I think i will make the drive from Kingwood and check out the Tigers.  I can only listen to so many AAW broadcast.  No offense AAW, i appreciate the hard work and all your efforts, but the home town analisis is a bit much.  Almost as bad as LAZEEK calling a Hawks game.  :)

sleepy must be asleep and dreaming.  No way anyone wins this game by 20.  I watched the first game (the second half) and was not impressed by either team.  Sloppy ball handling, terrible press defense, and lack of movement away from the ball were just a few things that stood out.  With that being said, i have to live by the words of the school song, "for ever loyal to old HJ".

I would agree w/ Buddy09. I just about spit my coffee up when I saw that.  I would assume they are talking about the girls team or the BHISD.  Both are rich in history.  The boys have had their moments, but I wouldn't throw them in the "rich" history class.

[/quote] As i said in my post, i'm not trying to bash HF, but facts are facts.  HF has not been known as a traditional basketball powerhouse.  I'm glad there were a couple of years of playoffs for the HF basketball program, but HJ has made the playoffs a few times in Football, but by no means would i consinder them a contender or the birth of a dynasty.

I would have to agree with AAW.  Not to bash HF, but they have never been known as a BBall power house.  That is same would be said about HJ Football.  HF has always had a better than average Football program, but has always lacked in BBall.  I don't know a thing about the coach, and i am not trying to bad mouth the coach at HF, but I think they (powers that be) focus more on a quality Football coach and program vs BBall.
