here are the Google directions...through Houston, up 45...if y'all see an alternate route, post it...but no "turn left at the sleepin' dog, get off the paved road" way to get there... [Hidden Content] I just checked the link, and it goes to the generic US map... so type in "from" 7327 Highway 87 North, Orange, Texas 77632 and "to" 22351 Imperial Valley Drive Houston, Texas 77073

Huffman travel directions to LC-M
elhector1 replied to elhector1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
okay, I was retarded, and should have looked at a map first... take 1960 to 90, head east. when you get to Beaumont, get on I-10 East, and follow the directions that I posted before for getting to LC-M. -
I am going to take you all on I-10, from Houston... take I-10 East, all the way past Beaumont and Vidor. When you get to exit 876 (16th street exit), exit on the right. Stay in the left hand lane, as you will be turning left on 16th street/Highway 87 (it's the same thing). After you turn left, go under the freeway, and go north on Highway 87, about 5 miles. You will be passing 5 signal lights, after the 5th one at Bear Path, you will go to the north of the high school, and the entrance there, across from the Bear Wash car wash. Project Safe Graduation Car Show is that day also, so if oyu want to have a little free time there, welcome, and come on in...!
-
for our Huffman guests... park on the north side of the high school... Saturday is the LC-M project Safe Graduation Car Show...so the main parking lot will be full with that. but we have parking on the north side of the school, by the main entrance of the school. the entrance is across the street from the LC-M Bear Wash car wash... Welcome! so if you want to come out early, and get some good eats, and see some cool cars

Well, our Bears are in the post season by the slimmest of margins... so this means I get a few more games to watch... remembering that kid (mine) as a Miner, Power Ranger, Diamondback, Astro (a lot of times), a Longhorn, and then, finally, a Bear. screaming my fool head off at every game I could get to...watching him pitch, play first base, outfield, wherever, whatever. Sometimes, I was coaching and yelling...but never at blue... ;D dealing with silly parents as a league official, because I knew that if I didn't do it, there might be some kids who had nowhere else to go, but really, doing it because my son loved the game, and, even though I never played, so did I. watching elation and disappointment, sometimes at the very same game. doing dog "yelping" sounds when we played our Nederland friends, since they had a "dog bark", and my "bear growl" sounded more like Yoda with a hangover... going to Friday games during Lent...wishing Domino's had a fish pizza...lol...lotta love Randy and Cathy, lotta love... our "dancin' mommas" tradition at LC-M...you go ladies! hoping out boys would make the playoffs...and when they did, hoping for one more game...or one more series... that kid has decided that his 12th year of baseball will be his last...so I hope that whatever the outcome, this will be a cherished memory... so...1 deep, or all the way to state...it'll be up to the boys...and I will be there...cheerin' and yellin' thanks for the memories folks...

still waiting to hear on location of LC-M versus Huffman... heard that Huffman's coach wanted 30% of the gate, Evian bottled water chilled at exactly 50 degrees, a fireworks show after every game, and at the very least 2 Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders in the dugout... LC-M countered, wanting 40% of the gate, an endless supply of Gatorade in any color but yellow or orange, agreed on the fireworks shows, and didn't need no steenkeen' Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders...cause we have the Diamond girls who are much better... HINT: read this post with tongue firmly planted in cheek... ;D -
I won't say this is a typical lack of class, "sour grapes" post, simply because I know too many Nederland fans that have wished us well, just the same as we would do if Nederland was representing 22-4A. It is obvious by your post that you, b-DoG fan, are the runt of the litter. LMAO !!! Good one elhector ! ;D ;D ;D thanks CC! nothin' but love, baby, nothin' but love... ;D

I would hazard to guess that it was because the first place team gets a bye, so pitcher rotation strategy was in play. If Big Ned and the Bears had split, AND they had the same records after tonight's game, then we would have a play in game. This is just a reinforcement of the rule that every game in this district is important.

There will be a playoff. No playoff if LCM sweeps the series. This according to the ruling cited by Coop. LCM loss still results in playoff berth for LCM, but I don't think that either team will rest on their "clinch".

so, if I'm understanding this correctly, LCM has clinched a playoff spot also? Regardless, there is still one more game to play, one more reason to get out there with the fire and intensity our Bears have shown. Friday is going to be a GREAT game! -

All right, gents...you got this one done...way to come back after some hiccups in the 2nd inning. Regardless of the outcome of the Vidor/Ozen game, there will be a bunch of angry Pirates coming into your house on Friday. They will be wanting to take home a Bear hide...question is, will you let them? Are they going to come into your house, and hand you a loss? Will you let them mar this special night for your seniors? As always, it's up to you...YOU DECIDE! -

best jv pitchers in 22 4A

;D ;D ;D must have been a couple of base runners that went 3rd base, 2nd base, 1st base, home to achieve that "under 0" ERA. If you truly mean "under 0" then that involves negative numbers, like a -0.13 ERA, which, as my friends above have stated, is...impossible. If you are gonna toot a kid's horn, at least get the statistical mathematics right. I sure hope you're not Jacob's dad, cause if you are...NEVER, EVER, help him with his math homework... ???...Nothin' but love, man, nothin' but love... ;D -
Tommy John surgery prevalent among high school pitchers

And a frontal lobotomy for all those parents who ride their under 13 year old kid, saying..."that's a bunch of bull! It can't happen to my kid". -

Don't you know though, that there is going to be someone on here that is going to try to justify a pitcher's overuse as "leaving it all on the field", and "the kid knows if he's feeling bad". To me, leaving it all on the field is a whole team effort, a team working hard, making next to impossible catches, stretching that extra inch, giving that extra effort...it does not mean relying on one guy so much that you take the chance of physically damaging him because he carries the whole team. I was a local Little League official, and a Junior League coach. I realized early on that relying on one good pitcher was not enough, and damaging to the kids, both the pitcher physically, and the others that wanted to give it a shot mentally. As an official, I saw so many coaches try to figure out days off to get their hoss to pitch again as soon as possible. Little League recently went to the maximum pitch count method versus the innings pitched method. That is an improvement. As a coach, I tried to find kids who would pitch and play other posistions, that way, I wasn't putting only one kid on the mound constantly. A good cach develops kids, doesn't just rely on the raw talent of one to bring him glory. -

my sunburn from the game seconds that motion! I thought my hair was going to screen out the harmful sun's rays...I was wrong. Maybe it's because I don't have as much hair on my head as I thought I did. And I tried out my "new game, new face" clean shaven look just in time to get sunburned there too! Pitches weren't crazy outside the zone. The umpire just had a VERY tight zone, and it showed. There were no "kind rolls" for either team. -

I don't think you can look at 1 game's amount of walks and make a determination as to the strength or weaknesses of a pitcher. In another thread with MrUmp1, we discussed the way a strike zone is called by an umpire, and that affects the amount of walks in a game. If both teams issue a lot of walks in a game, I woudl probably see that as being influenced by the way the strike zone is being called. But, if you see a consistent amount of walks in a game from one team, you woudl be correct...hard to go anywhere with that. -

Congratulations Bears, you were challenged, and you responded. YOU DECIDED! 2 more games to go, and the same attitude has to come out, the same passion they showed in today's game. Next stop...the Lumberton Raiders, who can be spoilers and game winners with anybody. One game at a time gentelemen, one game at a time. In today's game, at no time at all was I able to rest, and say that we had won. It was a battle the whole game, and the Bulldogs never quit. You, my Bears, should be proud of this win! GO OSOS! (and a side order of jalapenos with that. )
