1. Merka from Crosby is the best.  I'm a pretty staunch hater of all things Crosby but this kid deserves his props.  TCU commit, he has the size and skill to succeed.  If he was at Dayton, he'd be an All state prospect.  Unfortunately, he's at Crosby so he barely get's mentioned.

Good teams will beat us 3 rounds into the palyoffs if we are still turning the ball over. But yes, We are all around solid and probably will not loose in District.
Correction*  It would be round 2, not round 3.
You might be in for a surprise and find yourself on the bad side of 2 out of 3.  But by all means.....keep talking.
I'm just saying that the round 2 game, would likely be harder than the round 3 game for either team.  (not that were gonna dominate or anything) I will keep talking though, but i'm waiting till I see name Dayton next to ours in the playoff bracket.
You keep forgetting that you guys are going to go on a losing streak and end up on the other side of the bracket...How many times do I have to tell you this?
 3. How much longer until this one gets moved to classics?  I for one would like to see this go on for the entire season.  I can also promise that my first post next season will be starting a thread titled The Hill is Really for Real. We can, We will, Try to be for Real.

I like it. Seriously though, can anyone remember Stewart trying any fakes or trick plays of any kind? I can't remember any for the last several years, but considering my memory, that aint sayin much.
All I can think of is the one wher AJ would go in motion, take the pitch and throw it deep.... usually to Ronnie Powell.
Used to use it with Andrew Thomas as well, Green's Sophmore year. Effective but not usually necessary. Besides its early in the year, we are still in the front of the play book. I would like to address Dayton fanse questioning the play calling. Nations and Krause spend countless hours developing these game plans based on the opponents defensive scheme and every week it changes. I don't pretend to know or understand everything these coaches do, but please don't question the play calling when you don't even know the game plan. Have you ever questioned a play and then 2 plays later we are in the endzone. That questionable play may have been what set it up. There are plenty of other aspects of the game to complain about and discuss without questioning our coaches.
I'll bite on this one... Play calling is one of the first things questioned when things aren't going well and it's also one of the first things to be overlooked when you are winning big.  BUT, it's OK to question the play calling, that's one of the things that makes watching a game fun.  Just remember that this can be done without negativity and there is no need to run the coaching staff (or players) down.  With that said, players rarely play "perfect" games and coaches don't coach the "perfect" game.  Sometimes the playcalling will be botched because a human element will always exist.  Sometimes a bad play call will result in a touchdown and a great play call will result in a five yard loss. Here are a few observations I've had over the past few years from watching the Broncos: Short/Lateral sideline passes are not as effective against fast teams as they are against slow teams. A zone read run play doesn't work well when your o-line is getting blown up. If the opposing defense is blitzing, it's better to throw short or intermediate passes than long passes that depend on routes that take a long time to develop. If a team relies on these three options in adverse game conditions they are likely to lose. Sometimes these three options are the only options that you have and you have to dance with the one that brought you.
 6.

This will be a big game this week. Will have to see how Dayton does against the team in 19-4A that so far has the best record and best offensive stats of any team.
So guess we have the go ahead to get excited? Being Dayton beat the team in 19-4A that so far has the best record and best offensive stats of any team. 52-23 ;D
I'm all for the broncos, but we still don't have a winning record.  There's a lot of work to do if they want to make a deep run.  You know as well as I do that winning district or just getting to the playoffs doesn't make a season successful.  It might work that way for the rest of 19-4A, but I want to see the Broncos going deep in the playoffs.  If they want this, then they still have some areas that need to be dramatically improved upon.
 7. Pride comes before the fall.  I think Dayton should win, but getting a big head makes it easy to lose.  Besides, I'm saving all my really obnoxious smack talk for those pretenders over at Crosby.  I can't wait to see big red get treated like big blue.
 8. Okay you Barbers Hillarians<---that's a play on words BTW.  If you are so for real, how come you can't make school road smooth.  That road is terrible.  Yes, I've run out of things to make fun of about the BH fan base and I've moved on to tackling public works projects. So fix the road or you will not be for real anymore.
 9. I'm not doubting Dayton's chances in this one.  They should handle business.  I'm just saying that the broncos have a long way to go.  This team can prove something by going undefeated in district.
 10.

I know the saying  "IF, ifs and buts were candy and nuts we would all have a Merry Christmas" but I also know that IF the Hill would have taken care of the football in the first two games, they would be 3 and 0.  better tighten your jocks Broncos. BIG BLUE IS COMING TO TOWN!!!!!
I just thought it would be nice if all of us could take a moment and look back at how this beautiful thread started.  Thank you BHEagle1, Thank you.
I think I just found a new tag line....BIG BLUE IS COMING TO TOWN!!!!
 11. I can promise you that the smack will be twice as nasty when Dayton plays Crosby.  We don't like them and they don't like us.  That's why they are so much fun to beat.
 12. Right you are sir.  It's easy to take him for granted because he is so consistent. PLATINUM GAME BALL:  Juan Carranco for kicking the piss out of the ball and winning the field position battle for the Broncos. X Baldwin for special teams play Absolutely No Balls: The hill for being real.  I know it's unrelated but I couldn't resist. Cougars, i.e. goobers....just getting ready for the super smack showdown.  Get your stats ready.
 13. I think the Broncos are still below .500 and have a long way to go.  There are a lot of bright spots, but there are still a lot of areas that can be improved upon.  Beating GP is one thing, beating Crosby will be another, but if they want to be a top 10 team in the state they need to bring even more focus to each game and start limiting mistakes (i.e. mental breakdowns do to poor concentration or fatigue).   I know that the team is getting some of the kinks ironed out but it's easy to get excited about 2 convincing wins in a row only to lose focus.  Remember, this team has the potential to be playing in December, but right now, we look like a team that gets bumped in the second round. The players and coaches are doing a good job getting this season on the right track.  Now is the time to correct mistakes and start the process of tuning up the machine for another deep run.
 14. Game Balls:  Jakari Delasbour and Defense Getting 5 picks. GP's #11. No Balls:  Turnovers. That is all.
 15.
The Hill Is Back And Real
WOW
 16. Ahhh.....the race for fourth place.  This makes the hill for real.
 17. I guess Vargas will get tested after he takes a few big hits.  GP could be the real deal or their numbers could be based on subpar competition.  I guess we'll find out in 6 or 7 hours when the game is over.

 19. Who had number 300,000?  I think they should get a prize or have some confetti shipped to their residence at the very least.
Its as safe as yall want it to be but i seen a team that couldnt stop the pass so tomorrow i think it will happen again but this time Gp will come out on top! Sorry Dayton Fans!
Smoking baby, is that you?
 21. My only point was that paragraphs would've been useful.  Surely that doesn't make me some type of shameless animal with no heart.  Admit it, it would have been easier to read with a paragraph or five thrown in the mix.  just sayin' To jkelm if you are a 14 year old doogie howser type in college, I apologize.  If your serious about journalism, you are going to have to develop a thick skin because if everybody likes what you write, you won't have a job for very long.
 22. Didn't want the other articles to feel lonely.  Does this make me compassionate? Seriously man, don't take it too hard or too personally.  Write because you enjoy writing, not because of what others think.
 23. U got trucked:  This thread is going to last all season long unless some knucklehead (smokingbaby,bhfan/trueblue)) gets it put on lockdown.  You can thank the BH poster who got on their computer and typed the five sweet words I love above all others: The Hill is for Real. [move]WAIT FOR IT,                        WAIT FOR IT,                                                                              THE HILL IS FOR REAL[/move]

I am done with high school and am in college. Thank you all for the criticism. Graduated 25 in my class of 300 at Crosby. Did Dual Credit Classes. I could careless about SETXsports or high school. I am done and could care less
Then why in the hell are you posting all of this?  No need to get your feelings hurt.
