Nederland @ Dayton scrimmage updates
Tyrone_Biggums replied to oldrock's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
NED: What was wrong with the QB? I noticed he came up limping whenever the pressure got to him and spent a lot of time adjusting both of his knee braces. The kid has a lot of potential, but I don't see him making an entire season unless he toughens up a little bit. -
Nederland @ Dayton scrimmage updates

Tyrones take i.e....the opinion that really matters. Defense: D Line and backers looking good. They will be the backbone of the team as the year progresses. To those young men, "Believe that you are the best and prove it on the field." DB's need to tighten up. They were in position to make the tackle after the catch, but not in position to make a play on the ball. (14 has obvious talent, but looks bored. 84 is quick but needs to be a headhunter and punish receivers for trying to make a catch. BRING THE PAIN.) Offense: RBs. Looked really good. Impressed with Delasbour, he ran strong. XB look good on a 73 yrd run. The offense looked good at this point, but this effort will not work as the year progresses. O line: The O-line looked better than most, but they need to improve. They are occupying their man, but not dominating. Right tackle, 70 looked winded halfway through 2nd. 55 looked good. 76 looked good @ rt tackle. RCVRS: Goss looked good. If the QB hits you in the hands or numbers, you should catch it. Overall, not bad for a scrimmage, but the broncos are NOT FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS. The team will get better, but still has a long way to go. More positives than negatives, but there is plenty left to work on. -
Nederland at Dayton Tonight- What can we expect?
Tyrone_Biggums replied to bronco1's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I heard that breathalyzers have been installed at the visitor entry gate. They had to take action as a result of BH and Crosby fans. The school board realized that anyone sitting on that side and and even thinking their team had a chance of winning would be an indication of drinking heavily prior to arrival. -
Baytown Lee and Angleton

You kind of know what you're gonna get with Dayton. And I would kind of like to see what Lee and Angleton have to offer since the broncos will be playing both of them. -

What time is this scrimmage? Seems a little more intriguing than Dayton v Nederland, might roll out there with walter and donnie. -

a. Daytonians b. are you related, the guy is a good coach but you act is if someone is beating your kid or something. He's a big boy, I bet that he is a lot less upset about that list than you are. -
Who has the toughest preseason schedule in 19-4A besides Dayton and "wish we were Dayton" (Crosby)? I think that the level predistrict competition will play a role in determining the 3 and 4 slots in the district.

I'm willing to take on more traditional bets, preferably on the wednesday or thursday before games. What happened with the bet between Down Goes Frazier and BH89? (think it was him) Nothing better than seeing a g-spot get bet on a high school game.
-
I'll bet Dayton beats BH by 10, scores more than 20 on GCM, and begins a brand new decade long win streak versus Crosby. It's called a parlay...any takers?

Is Friendshood chiming in? I heard that Dayton tried to schedule and that the mustangs backed out because they didn't want to get beat down this year. -
OH LAWD, there's trouble brewin'. Tyrone is off of punishment, just in time for the season.
-
Sounds like there will be a field goal bonanza in 19-4A this year!

19-4A vs 20-4A Who would win?
I am sure that once Dayton gets pasted 20-4A, they would probably move on the play Brenham for round 3.
Should be round 4. Alot depends on how the the teams get seeded. Lot of football between now and then. Soldier's team will be out by then so he can come and watch. -
Dayton's kicker can play the futbol. I believe he is a tenth grader this year (liltex can probably break out the stats). No soccer program at Dayton though.
I almost threw up in my mouth just now! :D :D
You must be really upset by how much better Dayton is than Central. Swallow it if it happens, it's good for you. Glad to be back. I'm firmly committed to talking football instead of talking about your mom by the way. -

After careful consideration of soulja's admonishment, Tyrone_Biggums is going to take a 36 hour hiatus from the message board, there's just too much heat in the kitchen right now and I can't take it. Soulja, I hope your itis subsides. And with that boondocks reference and a parting shot to your moms, i'm out for a minute. -
well i figured i would put my two cents in on this 19-4a 20-4a hogwash. First of all Dayton has my utmost respect, great colors and great athletes, have to admit they have had our # the last few times we have met thruout the past few years, good quality team. But as for the rest of 19-4a cant really give any respect to them Barbershill praising theirselves for almost beating us last year losing by a point in the first game of which they had 8 turnovers come on, heck your team blocked three of our fieldgoals and you still lost, got beat worse the second time we faced you on a neutral site, Crosby got pummeled not even a contest total blowout. As for the indians this year well some are saying that we will even be better this year in our second year with coach Fairclothe. I dont know what to expect, dont see us going 10-0 but who knows heck that is why we play the game, but i tell you this for that matter dont underestimate the indians or the jags, might take out some punishement on you fellows come playoff time, with the exception of Crosby they will play us the third game of the season, hopefully it will be a repeat of last year : } Dont get to riled up there Soulja1 it is just preaseason gumflapping thats all, man cant wait for the season to start.
good post...especially the gumflapping part. -

two things soulja (were you trying to spell soldier?)...2008 is a long time ago but you aren't seriously going to try to downgrade a state finalist are you? And #2, promise that you will lock this thread the moment someone mentions anyones mother or shares some heartfelt poetry. Lighten up, it's clear that you are getting annoyed, life is too short to take everything so seriously. Write that down. -
We'll never know that because Dayton and Central have not played 2 years in a row. Also, tell me have yiu EVER seen Central and/or PN-G with your very own eyes?
1. What was the outcome the last two times dayton and central played? 2. Yes, I've seen both teams play multiple times. 3. Over the past 4 years, was dayton still playing football after central's season ended? Dayton has been consistently better than Central for a while now. Why would it be any different this year when dayton is returning the majority of their core and has 2 (maybe 3) D1 guys in the box on defense? Tell me you don't want to compare the 2008 jags and the 2008 broncos....that's just laughable. -
Put a Real Dayton fan like Bronco1 or those other guys (you know who you are) talk on some football vs Dayton. Something that makes sense and respect their opponent.
So let me get this straight, so far central has lost two in a row to dayton. And you want to start comparing central to dayton from 2008 to present? Well that's easy, Dayton has been in the quarterfinals, the state championship game, and the regional final. I'd say Dayton has the better run. If you rate Central ahead of Dayton, then all your doing is making central over-rated. Not saying central is some terrible team but PNG is clearly the best in 20-4A. Keep inflating the Central balloon with hype, but if you guys played Dayton, that balloon would get deflated quickly. -

So you are 0 and 2 vs. the broncos and still talking? That old age must be hard on the brain.
