1. I'd love to see a team from this area win it all. I'd much prefer it to be Dayton though....

Dayton was a doormat bottom of the barrel program prior to 1997. Since 97 they have been great. I remember when Dayton would win 1-2 games a season for decades. lol
I know some folks read this that have more details but Dayton had some playoff teams in the 70's and 80's.... quarterfinal team in the 60's I believe and some good teams a loooong time ago when you could only go a couple rounds deep. stick with H-D History.... The early and mid-90's were rough... but you're a little off on your summary.
Nope not off at all. For Dayton, 1997 was the birth of not being the worst program in Texas. Congrats. HD still is the only State Champion in Liberty County.
1-2 games won a year for decades?! Ok..... the diff between myself and you is that I dont feel the need to minimize others' success to make my alma mater look good. Be proud of what you got and act like you've been there before... you know, since your the only one in liberty county that has been.

 4.
Yeah i love how Dayton fans keep going back tot he years when they had what 5 d1 prospects on their team? Including several that couldn't keep clean in college.
That proven program works especially well with a "freak" under center.... If Crosby finds one, we might be in real trouble.... Also, when did we have 5 D1 prospects on the same team? maybe you're counting D1-AA Probably not smart to get into the keeping clean topic... plenty of schools, including Crosby have those issues.
 5. From the little that I know about Tarkington's situation, graduating those seniors might not be altogether bad due to the fact that they are graduating some of the old culture. It's not the kids' fault, but that old mindset is hard to change.
 6. We'll really get to see what he can do without 5+ D1 recruits year in and year out. Good luck to him and NC.
 7. Dale Dean also won the open 400m... Awesome!

With the endless pool of money BH has we don't have a separate AD and Head Football coach, which I would think would cost the district more :D
It doesn't.... Diamond J I think has explained the situation before. Coach Stewart took a significant cut to be part time AD. Coach Hancock was already on staff.

But that's only justification from what we can see today, the 2013 season will be built starting in the summer for the most part.
didnt sc have the same record the year before and a first round bow out to a weak mw team. Seems like they recovered for a descent year in 2012. I hope everybody counts dayton out because of their youth. It will make 2013 that much sweeter. Also you cant listen to coug14 its makes you make statements like kw park will beat dayton. Come on man.
Dang man, I wasn't going to make one comment on this thread. Listen to me about what? I like KP over BH if Denny doesn't play but I still think Dayton gets in 3rd or 4th. I was told by one of my trusted sourced that the Shaq kid didn't look close to being ready to start on varsity and if you put Keener back there you pretty much neutralize your best position player. I saw Keener throw and he's not going to beat good teams with his arm. Y'all overstated lil Mc being a prodigy too. 5-3 in the district is probably going to get in the playoffs and since y'all are Dayton I think y'all will at least do that. IJS, y'all scored 27 pts the last 3 games of the season once the film was in and lost your three best offensive players in Chambers, McBride, and Aubre. SC, Crosby, and KP bring almost everybody back and all three finished trending up. Dayton plays @Crosby and @SC,  I think they lose both but if they beat BH and KP then you still get in. What's wrong with that Bronco?
your trusted source must not be a coach. Also shaq can play any skilled position on the field. Please explain kp trending up. Is it because they almost beat crosby. i sure didnt see it when dayton pounded them. Nobody ever said kyle was a prodigy he just looked that way against crosby.
KP played Dayton earlier in the year. They couldn't get better as the year progressed 'cause Bronco fans swore BH got ''salty'' after we rolled them? Someone did call lil Mcbride a prodigy last year, twins looked a lot better as sophs. though. KP finished on a good note going into next season, Dayton finished squeaking by BH, loss, loss. Who is this mystery kid that's fast with the great arm, or is it a secret? Our qbs are Aston and a kid named Tristan Cotton who should get plenty of run this year, or should I have kept that secret?
QB talk on the part of Dayton fans is mere speculation at this point. And Kyle is plenty prodigious for me. Alone, he had 222 rushing/receiving yards vs the Cougs last year. The walter twins had a about 400 rushing/passing/receiving vs. Dayton as sophomores. Head to head, I'd say that's a fairly even matchup.
I didn't hear it, but.... KSHN has someone from Dayton ISD on their "party line" show like 1 wednesday a month or every wednesday or something. It was probably just their turn in the rotation. General update type stuff.

These families are from the Sheldon area and I had fun watching and coaching the Dads in Little Leagues.Enjoyed watching several games this last year as both boys had tremendous years. Not sure if there are more Bartons.... both great families there...

I know you can't always do this especially because his wind was +0.9 and the olympics was -0.3, but here are the results of the finals in the 110mH in London this year. [Hidden Content] Just an idea of how good his time is.
the hurdles are also higher for the pros.... Very impressive performance. That's gotta be the fastest time for a texas kid in a good while.

Are you arguing that?
That's what I'm saying as well. You won't find those times making it onto any official rankings either. Add .24 for a handheld conversion.... One4All and Mat, try it for yourself. The next meet you go to with an electronic timing system... take a stopwatch, start it when you see fire/smoke from the gun, stand right at the finish line and hit stop when the athlete's torso hits the line. Later, check the results.... you'll be anywhere of .20-.30 off... if you're good. With that said.... 10.67 for a 100m kid in high school is rolling!

I wasn't disagreeing with anything, I just like to look at results. I have a lot of respect for Coach Sands at SC... others as well, but mostly him. Good man and outstanding track coach. Although, I think Dayton will at least make things pretty exciting in the 4x4 next year.
No I understand. Yes Coach Sands does an excellent job with those guys. Him and Coach Ervin have that program at top notch right now...I'm hoping Dayton or somebody give us a run, because its looking like a cake walk for district, but we will see
I think Dayton is a year away with possibly 3 sophs and a freshman on the 4x4. They'll be older and deeper pretty much across the board next year though. If SC gets the stick around the track, they're likely to have 60 points just from three races. District might turn out to be a little more interesting than a lot of folks may think though. The 9 team district  really throws a kink in things when it comes to having to run prelims and finals for district. Most districts don't have to sweat that.
