  1. Great year Ned!!!! A lot to be proud of and a lot to build on next year!!!
  2. every other game, they shake hands and run to the buses.... I think the fans expected the same thing last night. I was surprised when I saw them hanging around. If we're fortunate enough to win next week, I'll bet more people will hang around.
  3. nice prediction : although... we did give up a couple long runs in the 1st half... One was a long punt return to the 5.... the result = 0 pts for Elgin. 2nd half... lights out!
  4. That was awesome... Purple4Ever took a shot and still held on to the camera with his head hitting the turf, hat flying and everything.... then he got up and gave the crowd a fist pump. Too bad he had already hit pause!!! You're a tough one!
  5. at the game or at the tailgate???
  6. we're the only team that was picked do anything in the region that is left... that's why it's the premier game.
  7. heard he was hurt last year... where's the video, from before then? I'd like to see it.
  8. There you guys are... I've been trying to locate some info on Elgin!! Give us the scoop. yep... I along with several others mentioned it was from his sophmore year. All of Dayton isn't talking trash... go back and read my posts. Good luck to you guys.... tell us why you think you'll beat us.... and be back on here tomorrow.
  9. they did e-mail out.
  10. REGION III PREMIER GAME Elgin (8-3) vs. Dayton (9-1) 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dayton Photo by www2.lumberton.k12.tx.us I can hear you frowning from here. Why is Dayton vs. Elgin, the game sporting the region's largest two spreads this weekend, the feature game? Because Dayton is the last true favorite alive out of all 4A Region III teams. Huntsville? Gone. Lamar Consolidated? Eliminated. Texas City? Dropped by Rosenberg Terry. Lumberton? Victimized by Chance against Crosby. This particular pair of brackets is turning into a bone yard for preseason darlings ... and Dayton is truly the last one standing. Look, I'm not saying that Dayton is going to lose. All I'm saying is that if it does, both sides of the 4A equation become wide open -- you could conceivably have teams like Lockhart and Magnolia (both picked fifth in the preseason) in the DI regional final and Crosby and Rosenberg Terry (both four- loss teams who didn't even play ten games) in the DII regional final. With the exception of 5A Abilene, no other region in any other class could make such a claim. Dayton is a huge favorite, but I'd be willing to bet that the Broncos haven't felt so much pressure to win convincingly all season. Luckily, they've got QB Cody Green, who is on pace to throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000, and ATH A.J. Dugat, an unparalleled physical specimen from a family defined by athleticism. There's no question the offense is there. But can Elgin make magic happen? If so, it's going to have to get it done with the running game. The Wildcats don't throw the ball often, so RB Derrick Falke and QB Tyler Swenson will have to be at the top of their game from start to finish; added production from Kelton McMillan, Kevin Weaver and Jason Hickman would be a big boost as well. But truthfully the offense might be a minor concern compared to the defense -- if it can't contain Dayton's Green and Dugat, it would have to score in the upper 30s or 40s to win, and I don't think that's a probable outcome. The pressure will be on Dayton to win, and I think it responds. But I'd also bet it moves on to round three with more a nervous laugh than a haughty one. Padilla Poll says: Dayton by 17 Jerry's TXFB Ratings says: Dayton by 17 TexasFootball.com says: Dayton 38, Elgin 24
  11. it has also been e-mailed to all teachers in the district.... Great job getting this going AC and others!! Don't think I can make it by 5:30 but I hope you guys have an awesome turnout. Proud to see how this has developed throughout the week!!
  12. LOL... Yes it is..... Can you feel the Love tonight ... on this thread?
  13. this was posted on another board... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- i think this next matchup between dayton and elgin will be a better game then what people are thinking it will be. elgin has a legit defense to slow down daytons' high powered offense and a D1 runningback to go with a strong running game to slow down the clock. do your homework, elgin returned 8 offensive starters including 4 starting offensive lineman from last years team. after watching last weeks game against livingston and their strong running game, this one could be a toss up!
  14. chance of rain too right???? Please, noooo! No Rain No Rain! ;D nevermind... no real threat til sunday.
  15. chance of rain too right????
  16. ? Whats wrong with ours? maybe the defensive part.... might be a good coordinator, but Ned hasn't shown a whole lot on def.... I guess that falls on him according to some.
  17. I was thinking that.... the year after johnny freeman grad. from crosby and Dakarai grad. from Dayton.
  18. I noticed that... the Tech commitment was just heresay I suppose.
  19. yes... that is exactly where it is from. that's why I mentioned that. That is the only video that I could find.
  20. Maybe not with the top three I listed, but easily fits in with those Anahauc guys and Spikes. He was a two time All-State RB, and All-State basketball three years. Joe was and still is a pretty darn good athlete.
  21. You've always said the Jags would play in the Wal-Mart parking lot... well, there you go.
  22. The defense will be fine, and they played a very physical game against Livingston and eventually beat them. No doubt some improvements are necessary, but we should adjust well. 1. they needed the physical game... it only helps us in the long run and is something we missed not playing in 20-4A. 2. I believe that.
