But how you do win the talent is even or you are the underdog tells me more about your coach. I submit to you that Lumberton ( under Coach C ) has won more games in which they have had less or equal talent than Dayton under Coach S. But that could change this year, Most are picking Everman ( spelling ? ) to win this year so beat them. coach stewart has been here a lot longer than the past two years. I'd be willing to bet there are quite a few that we weren't supposed to win. we'll start with PNG and Kilgore in '98? Typically, the teams that knock us out of the playoffs(when it really matters) go on to big things in the playoffs. (ie. Bay city-2x, La Marque, LT, even Nederland) I don't want to make this thread about dayton though.... go raiders

region 1 dayton is in 3

no gimmes with TC regardless of last year's score. they have a stingy defense and a good run game (as usual) led by a dynamic QB who I hear is a younger version of their '06 QB Robinson. Also... TC feels that Dayton ran the score up last year... this was probably due to TC players running their mouths from warm ups to the end of the game. so... if this game happens, it could be a little heated. Don't let TC's record fool you, they have been inconsistent, but they can be dangerous.

yeah but what about Dayton's Pass Defense??? Friendswood and Lake Travis killed yall on the pass BH showed signs of beating yall with the pass earlier in the 1st Half. Watch out for a upset in the first round against Livingston ;) Unless Livingston has really improved their aerial attack... don't look for them to beat us through the air. BH mixed it up well for one drive (96 yds i believe). The other score came from a fumble where bh took over inside the 5. When the spread is run effectively, it's very difficult to stop... BTW if you've seen how hard Texas Tech is to stop,... LT is the high school version of tech, even down to the uniforms. You would be hard pressed to find 2 better QB's in the state or nation than Karam and Gilbert, and if that is what it takes to beat Dayton.... I don't feel the least bit depressed.

fans and media don't play the game. The Dayton News is just answering the question... "If we win, who's next?" It's wishful thinking that the players and coaches are looking ahead.

Good post... no one can guarantee a dayton win in the first round or of region III but we are shaping up to be the favorite. It's all cyclical... for so long, the region has gone through LM, TC and others. Now that is changing. Livingston seems to be trending upward in level of play as dayton has been doing for several years. Win or lose on saturday, I think the future is bright in Livingston.

i don't think that tells the whole tale either. Crosby's sophomore QB has grown up a lot since that game. I do agree with the rest though.

Dayton yes we lose alot to graduation but have a good nucleus returning including 7 or so on defense. The secondary will be inexperienced again.

Chance Casey led the nation in both of the hurdles for the better part of last year. He is extremely fast... not a great FOOTBALL player but a very good one. If he gets loose.... GONE. just don't let him get loose.

46-13 I believe. Crosby ripped off a few long ones and even had a KO return called back. other than that, they didn't fair too well.

In the Chronicle's defense... they did some nice pieces on the broncos in their '07 playoff run.
