  1. You need to do a little research as far as Cody goes. He's in the rivals top 100 for 2009. And that isn't texas, its the country. As far as our team not missing a beat, the offense will be different with AJ running it rather than Cody. it will not miss a beat because AJ is a playmaker, but as far as the best true QB...Cody is our best. Yes, there is a strong supporting cast, but the scouts from UT, A&M etc. don't waste their time unless a player is deserving. He didn't just show up at all the big camps this summer, he was invited and stood out when he was there. if you're judging Cody off of what you saw in week 3 last year....then you don't know what he can do. As for the best passer in the district that is healthy...I bet its Dejohhn.
  2. AJ is a playmaker!!!
  3. i'll bet you're not the only one who feels that way.
  4. correct...that's why I said true freshman.....as opposed to redshirt freshman
  5. Quite a few recruiters were in Dayton before Cody went down. Also, he was and will probably still be recruited as a QB by D1 schools. Thomas is a fantastic athlete and playmaker playing the QB position because he should have the ball in his hands the majority of the time. but will probably play DB in college.....right?
  6. saw him returning a kick last week for tennessee. True freshman.
  7. that story makes me sad for the guy. :'( :'( sounds like an athlete.
  8. I'm not sure who it was, but someone on the setxsports call in show said you guys were the favorite. Looking at what ya'll have done so far....I might have to agree. No easy games this year though.
  9. you must not know much about Friendswood.
  10. dayton isn't big. I would bet you guys have more size.
  11. that's good to hear...I just don't hear it on this board....Just curious.
  12. I wonder this...if the OC is so bad and Hooks is so good. Why doesn't Hooks take any heat for not fixing the issue??? I mean...when they beat Dayton, Hooks got all the credit for the adjustments made and not the OC.
  13. I hope so....we are as ready as we can be. Hopefully we'll have 3 or 4 more players healthy in the next 2 weeks. That should help the depth issue.
  14. pretty clean game...only 1 penalty in the first half if I remember correctly.
  15. 2 very different games.
  16. I understand...sure looked like we would pull it out for a while. They were very talented and very well coached. Not bad for our QB's first full game at that position against a very stout team.
  17. Really??? they were like #6 in the state. They were good!! The Broncos have a lot to be proud of after playing a much bigger and deeper team.
  18. ;D ;D we'll see in two weeks. The broncos will be L-town's biggest challenge yet.
  19. Not a bad prediction...just underestimated the Broncos a little. I think both teams benefitted from such a hard fought game.
  20. I think Dayton takes a lot of positives away from this game. This should boost the confidence a little. The passing game will come around more and more. AJ is a playmaker. The Broncos should get a little healthier in the next 2 weeks and will have a little more depth than they have had so far. Great job to Friendswood. They deserve that ranking IMO.
  21. Tony Hill - O and D lineman Jordan Baxter - D-lineman Aaron Jenkins - D-lineman Chris Young - LB Those are the ones I know. I'm sure there are several more...just can't think of them at the moment. You can usually trust what you hear from coach stewart.
  22. ok....I couldn't remember his #. you are right, about not going head up.
  23. If that was London Durham...he took a lot of shots last year. Kinda felt bad for him at some points. He was tough.
  24. Not much to speak of here in dayton...Hope everyone is ok to the east. Hope there isn't too much damage.
