  1. From a poster on texashsfootball.com Costs: The House version $4.5 million in annual costs to be funded from increases in ticket prices to high school spectator sports…..The Senate version requires the state to pay for the testing. Punishment: The House version leaves it up to the UIL to determine the lengths of periods of ineligibility upon positive tests…The Senate version ranges from 30 days for the first positive test to permanent ineligibility for a third positive test. The bill could take effect in September at the start of football season. source: [Hidden Content]
  2. :o :o That'd be interesting Not sure how to keep Dayton, Central and Nederland all out of the playoffs though.
  3. thinking back...I don't believe Cody played at all against WOS (not sure, only game I missed) and only played about a half each against Friendswood and Nacogodoches. so the yds/game is iffy.
  4. Bryce is a good QB. plain and simple. One thing we've also got to remember if we are comparing is that Cody's first full game at QB was the Lumberton game(4th game), so the numbers are skewed a little. Cody also had some bad games...i.e. Central(that defense!!) We'll get a little better idea about Cody this year. by the way. on the topic of AJ being a better QB...I think he is a better runner....but overall I don't think so. AJ has so many weapons it's unreal, I like him better out of the slot or catching balls out of the backfield.
  5. pass attempts. Really though, he does have some tools. We have a pretty decent crew of QB's in the dist.
  6. I agree....although, I do believe that Crosby, with all their returners, will be a tough first round match for someone and could upset if they are overlooked. Our teams around here need to raise the bar. I'm tired of hearing how central texas, etc is so superior to the southern part except for LM. Not saying the overall level isn't higher....I would just like to think that more than one of us can compete at the present moment.
  7. Should be a war! I hope so...with the exception of a game or two...it's been pretty lopsided.
  8. Nobody doubts that. It was good to get the monkey off our back last year. Can't wait to make the trip to Ned this year. I believe the Broncos will be in contention for the title when we come.
  9. I've heard this too. I have some family in Hardin and they are saying it's probably gonna be Haynes. He's originally from Hardin...think he graduated from liberty though...apparently moved there in late high school to get more exposure at QB. Went on to play for Lamar I believe. Don't know how accurate this is, but....it's what I've heard.
  10. I agree. We haven't seen enough of Cody to max him out at 10 yet. There are some very good QB's in this district. All of them seem athletic and very strong from the neck up. I'll enjoy watching them all perform this year.
  11. confused...will hanna be a junior for the '07 football season or a sophomore?
  12. No spring game from what I heard from one of the coaches. Bronco1...can you verify?
  13. Was in silsbee this weekend. I really like the stadium. First rate...IMO when does construction start with the RES.
  14. Congrats to all!!! PJ McGowan won gold in the HJ as well 6' 10"
  15. AWESOME...Great kid....Great Athlete and lives in my neighborhood ;D ;D Congrats PJ
  16. How about that stiff arm on that LCM catch??? ouch
  17. You're right Lucky...had a couple of drops that game. A little uncharacteristic compared to the rest of the season. Had a touchdown pass the he threw himself called back that game too....great athlete.
  18. I understand what you're saying. I think the money does create separation in some areas. But, the tradition is what makes most of the difference to me. Look at La Marque. Like you said...losing is unacceptable. Wish we could bottle that.
  19. come on down here and get you some of the low tax base, etc. Since you guys don't have overwhelming talent. the separation has to be in coaching etc. the extra $$ up there has to help. Granted, the winning tradition has got to breed a huge passion to be the best over and over.
  20. he was saying they don't have any speed and that they don't need it to win.
  21. Totally agree...they will compete for a spot, but they have to beat PNG, Ned or both to get in. Ozen's year will make a big impact as well on how far they get. If Ozen isn't all the way back this year, they will at least be far enough along under Rison to play spoiler for a playoff contender.
  22. ???? I'm pretty sure he got one of their top player honors last year. Offensive MVP or something like that. even still, not in the setx realm.
  23. Texastrack has him at 6' 9". I'll have to check with a source in Dayton.
  24. Joe has run 47.7ish in the open 400 and is a mid to high 22 foot long jumper. Very solid DB in Fball. PJ has cleared 6' 9" in the HJ, 22' 7" long jumper, a mid 49 open quarter and mid 48 split in 4x4. Very good Bballer also Nothing exact...but those are pretty close.
  25. I won't continue to stay off topic...PM me...I've got no problem telling you.
