So on that game im hopin no RAIN hit us so bh can play SC in a good match up
It didn't rain last year. Y'all are 1-4 against Crosby the last 5 years, it rained once. Crosby went up and down the field on BH in the first half, just had a dropped td and one called back 'cause the Hill and Crosby guy were fighting behind the play and they called a hold on the Coogs. Barbers Hill had one sustained drive, and that ended in a field goal. O'neal broke one then got shut down, Denny fumbled trying to give it to O'neal and broke it out the back door on a busted play for the last score in the 2nd quarter. Other than that the Hill got completely waxed. Saying that I think y'all beat Dayton 35-31 if y'all don't let them throw bombs over your head.                         BH 42  Humble 14
your funny. Dayton scored 35 on crosby the first half. Just lucky yall dont have to play dayton till next year. 5 of 6 dayton tds were sophmores. So it looks like another beating next year. Oh yeah bh45-7 over humble
Like you said, y'all aren't playing Crosby 'til next year. Who cares about the 35 in the first half? Barbers Hill beat King 47-14. Dayton scored 24 points and was anemic on offense against King. Some game just don't match up well. Last year BH beat Dayton, this year they will again because Dayton can't stop the run. Crosby ran for 288 on about 40 carries. Dropped td by #88, fumbles and picks by Aston, another dropped td by #15 and there you have it. Dayton capitalized on it like a good team does and won the game. Crosby is a big play team, they turn it over a few times or have costly penalties and they're probably going to lose. BH just runs and runs and runs, Dayton can't defend the run that's why BH beat the Broncos last year, that's why I think they will do it again. Barbers Hill has problems defending the big play but unless Dayton gets more 96 yard tds on 3rd and 35 then your looking at the kind of offense they have been every other game besides Crosby which is mediocre at best. The little McBride had 126 yards rushing on 15 carries I think but he broke about a 60 yarder. Dayton fans will tell you he could have went for 250, but the truth of the matter is Chambers is scared for his life back there. BH you don't ever have to worry about him keeping it on a zone read, if BH doesn't get beat deep Dayton just doesn't have a lot of options. That sounds crazy after the 45-21 whipping the Coogs got but just look at Dayton's games. One good game on offense, 4 very average. Crosby on the other hand has outgained everyone they played, just too many mistakes. I would say after the BH game Dayton posters would realize this but I know they'll just make excuses like last year, so I'll make my fearless prediction and say Dayton finishes 8-2(6-2) draws Ned in the first round and loses in Beaumont. BH and Crosby go D2 and don't see a good team 'til the third round. I know that probably just made Bronco fan spit his wintergreen all over the monitor.
That seems to coincide with 1 game with the full compliment of players on offense.  What was the quote about Crosby's d not giving up more than 17 points to anyone this season??  45-21....
Did they have them against CE King? 260 yards of total offense, 6 passing yards with 1 turnover. Looks like every other game besides Crosby. I guess the other 4 games are the flukes, Crosby game is what Dayton really is? BH scored 6 tds on offense against King, Dayton scored 2 and was outgained by King. I know Dayton fan will say the game was over in the first quarter and they were coasting though. Giving up all that yardage on D will eventually come back to bite Dayton, maybe in the form of back to back losses to BH and Creek. Wouldn't be good for Dayton to go into the first round against Ned on a two game losing streak. Crosby has lost two in a row but gets to ride a 5 game winning streak into the playoffs.
didnt play the whole game. we were our healthiest of the year against Crosby. That's just the way seasons go sometimes. Hopefully we'll be healthy at the end of the season when it matters most. The big issue on defense to me against king was missing our top linebacker and defensive end (3 tech) for the entire game... those guys make a ton of tackles. I don't wanna make excuses, considering we won, came away with no major injuries, and the fact Dayton has CHOSEN to rest kids who aren't 100%. This is going to pay dividends. When these Broncos are going full tilt, I think there is gonna be a good product on the field. All the Broncos issues are fixable. Our run D will be  our strength as usual and I don't give a rip how many yards we give up. If the majority of our opponents' drives go from the 15 to the 30 (45 yds) 7 or 8 times a night and don't score or gets field goals, we're probably gonna win that game.
 2.
Iggie Joes sounds good.  What time? The Dayton game will be a war, no doubt.  I do think BH can beat Dayton if we don't turn the ball over.
that's my thought too. Both teams oughta be full throttle that late in the season.

 5.
Crosby by 28, 42-14. Only 28 because Riordan is going to try and line out the passing game. Walter had 176 on 10 catches this week, Singleton had 196 on ten catches against Dayton but Crosby doesn't have the air raid clicking yet though. I think Riordan pulls Austin once he breaks 1000 rushing on the season and he probably pulls Aston once he breaks 1000 passing.
Crosby NEEDS to be able to throw the ball. It kept them in the game against SC in the first half. I doubt Riordan gives a rip about their ydg totals though.  He'll pull them to keep them healthy when they have lead enough to win.
 6. Cougs by 40... at least. Poor NC
 7. nevermind.... not gonna hijack
 8.
Dayton 21      KP      10 The only decent player I saw for KP was their punter/kicker. Qb has a strong arm but not very accurate. Dayton's low score is due to their penchant to play down to their competition's level.
our penchant? one game doesn't define a team
 9.
One more thing to hijack. I hope BH does beat Dayton. It would give Dayton, Hill, and Crosby all two district losses and put them in a three way tie for second place. Creek is going to roll Barbers Hill, they just don't have the athletes to stay with Dogs. Hill had a problem with Crosby at line of scrimmage, SC is in a whole different stratosphere. I know you think the Crosby game was a fluke but now they have 5 layups in a row. Take out KP and Crosby's remaining opponents have 3 combined wins. Crosby will finish the season 7-3(6-2) with the only losses to #8 Nederland, #11 Dayton (maybe top ten this week), and SC who along with Dawson has to be the odds on favorite for the 4a-D1 state title. Looks like Crosby and BH will be going to the small 4a playoffs so y'all could potentially get another whipping in late November or early December so be careful asking for that re-do. Y'all were lucky to get that 17 you put up, but even luckier to hold Crosby to 35.
Whoa... Do what?!?! Dawson's earned that ranking.... Through several years of good/talented teams. Just because SC throttled you guys.... (with almost the exact boxscore that dayton did), doesn't put them in that class. Not saying they won't get there, but Angleton and Nederland, just to name a couple will have plenty to say about who gets out of this region in D1. oh..... and BH wins this one by 3.

 12.
Hawkeye, It's not really rah rah stuff when you're talking about confidence and believing. It's just the way it is. That's the way it's been ever since Jerry Stewart arrived in Dayton. There is no question Dayton had talented players prior to his arrival, but he instilled a certain confidence in players. We believed we were going to be successful, even before some of us had taken a single snap as varsity players. That swagger and confidence has carried over through the years. Even with him "retiring", that level of confidence still remains. There are times when a team is beat as soon as they see the horseshoe on the helmet. Also, a lot can been said for the fear of defeat. I guarantee no senior class wants to be the one that breaks the playoff streak. Finally, I'm not sure if another QB has worn #7 since I graduated. I think a Carranco (sp?) has been #7 since I left. Thanks for the welcoming words. What I would give to strap it up one more time.
Cody Green wore #7..... Your location is the giveaway. Good points on the mentality of the Broncos.
 13.
It has always baffled me that when a fan posts an observation about their team that is not 100% homer positive, they get the "don't panic...breeeeeath" speech. Or the "get back from the ledge" talk. Give me a break. Dayton's offense is not very good right now. I'm still breathing and very relaxed. Nor am I blind and deaf. Why is it like some taboo subject we as Bronco fans are not supposed to approach? Are we not here on a football forum (more than I should be) to talk about our teams strength and weaknesses? Anyway, back to the point. The offense is flat. It has become very predictable. It looks to me like they just want to get the ball to a play maker the easiest way possible and hope he "breaks" one. Counter, bubble screen. Counter, jet sweep. Repeat if necessary. How about a pass play that's designed to get only 8 - 10 yards for those third and longs. A simple curl for gosh sake! Why does it always have to be a 40 yard bomb? I said it was sad because I believe this offense has enough weapons that they could be scary good. I hope they work the kinks out soon so I don't have to kill myself!  ::) ::) ::) P. S. Don't come on here and be captain obvious and tell me about how we're undefeated. My sights are set a little farther down the road. And yours should be too.
I was telling those folks who were ready to jump ship, not to panic. You dont sound like  you are ready to mail it in like them. Our offense looked pretty good against Crosby and will continue to improve, IMO.

 15.
Everyone back off of the edge.  This is a hard week to play a team that is not very good.  After a very emotional win against a rival, CE king proved to be dangerous.  Dayton is very young and it is hard to get those kiddos to play at a high level every week.  It is a learning process.  I remember in the past some of Dayton's sloppiest offensive games have come at CE King.  This team will be fine.  Take a deep breath and let the coaches do their job.  Don't give the district championship away just yet.  Lots of ball to still be played.
good post.

 20.
I left at 42-21. Summer Creek is the real deal. They didn't look that tough in the 1st half and Crosby had lots of chances to do something with SC mistakes but could not take advantage. I hate to talk about a kid, but that #15 on Crosby needs to get the greese off his gloves! I have never seen a kid that athletic that can run perfect routes and get in a postion to make a big play to just watch the ball bounce off his hands. Anywho I agree with Smoking Baby there will be no one that will beat SC in 19 or 20 4A! This team will just wear you down offensivly untill you make a mistake. We are all playing for 2nd IMHO.
coulda changed the whole complexion of the game toward the end of the first half.... after the ball went over on downs after those two endzone drops and SC scored real quick, SC had all the Mo.

 22.
you go to crosby tonight? Don't know why Crosby gets that beat look when they get down. I'm sure the new coach hates that.

Dayton came into this game thinking it was gonna be a snap.. easy win.. cause they sure didn play tonight like they did last week. JMO
That's one view.  I think the more populare view is Dayton is not as good as they think they are........just sayin.  By the way, remind me what the BH and CE King score was last week....... ;) ;)
How bout... CE King has some coaches on staff that are extremely familiar with the Dayton Offense and Defense and they planned well and played us tough. Everyone knows that CEK always has athletes. So our kids had to fight for one... so what? Maybe they got tougher tonight. One more thing... CEK always seems to be a bit of a sloppy one for us. Everyone ease off the panic button for now. Hopefully the injured king player is ok and we didn't get anyone too dinged up...
 24. summer creek has lots of team speed, a solid D and an accurate QB .... i left at 35-14 when Crosby was starting to turn the ball over and SC defense was seeming to really wear on the Crosby O. you've gotta be able to throw it to beat SC. Crosby had success when they did that. SC's got a good group. Congrats on the win..... assuming Crosby didn't mount a huge comeback.
