1. Dayton and Crosby went to the 3rd round in 09 I believe. Dayton lost to Brenham in the 4th rd and Crosby lost to Pearland Dawson in the 3rd rd.
 2. a little fun fact.... former UH QB Jimmy Klinger is the OC at Manvel
 3. Manvel is loaded...... and ran the table in 24-4A. That is an impressive feat. Dayton will have to play well. We're playing the best we have all year and that's what has to be done this time of year. Good luck to both.
 4.
Frodo- I think a little more than your directive will be necessary
very true.... It's no news that Manvel is loaded and ran the table on the guantlet that is 24-4A. Dayton will have to play well. We're playing the best we have all year and that's what has to be done this time of year. Good luck to Manvel.

 6.
I think the argument can be made both ways, but this sure has been in 20-4A's favor this year with Vidor and Ozen pulling off big wins!! When the district is as competitive as ours, it's nice to see these boys gat a chance to prove themselves to all these other "state recognized" programs.
exactly... that's why the change was made, IMO. For those great districts out there that have very little dropoff from top to bottom. District 24 is rolling on as well with LM, Manvel, and Dawson. Their 4th place is out, but the argument still holds water.
 7.
Way to go Ozen. I knoe the last few years Brenham has had some good teams,, what is the farthest they have gone?
played for a championship in '09
 8.
Congrats to Ozen!  Good luck the rest of the way.  You shut our pass down and come up with some huge stops on 4th down....  De ja vu.....  I'll take my crow grilled! If we had to lose I'm glad it was to y'all!  My darkhorse Ozen.....
BF you've got tons of class! Congrats Cubs  on a good season and good luck to all those studs.

But consider that RB Tevin House is still one of the region's top rushers, QB Ty Talifero is as accurate as anyone in Class 4A, and the defense almost gobbled up the aforementioned Cubs in district play — a 14-7 loss that's a closer game than anyone else has given Brenham. Vidor, however, will need to win with defense — lots of it. Vidor runs the ball pretty well, but if it falls behind, I'm not sure it wants to throw into the Montgomery secondary/DL to catch back up. Its defense has to keep it close enough to allow the running game to work. Travis' pick: Montgomery 31, Vidor 21
Humm.... 14-7, VIDOR will WIN, I'll say this ONE MORE TIME, brenham,AHHH.......................OVERRATED!
Lions#80, where is yalls game this week?
hoffheinz? Toyota Center? the Ned dome?
 14.
Cant wait for sat this out to be a great game. How many underclassman do we have on defense I counted 7 last game.
kids that spend significant time on D that are returning next year. I'm sure I'll miss someone. 10 by my count though St. Andre (jr.) Kevin Barton (jr. i think) Matt Oubre (jr) John Smith (jr. i think) Daniel douglas (soph) Markain Chambers (jr.) Rashad Chambers (jr.) Tony Robinson (jr.) Charles Tousant (jr.) Donovan Jackson (jr.)
 15.
I did read the article and again I am not taking anything away from the Herrera or the Dayton offense. But when he is rushed he doesn't make good decisions with the ball. The game against PN-G he had all freaking day to throw and yes the defense wasn't putting enough pressure on him. But when they did he did not make his completions. He is a good athlete and does have a good arm, I was not disputing that.  Again, when he is not pressured he has all day to choose where  he wants to throw the ball and make an accurate throw which he does at least 80% of the time.  And when he decides to run, he gets big runs, so again he has some skills.  Once again, I am not hating but if you Dayton fans can't take criticism.....oh well!!!!!!! 8) 8) 8)
I just wanted clarification on the out of the pocket part. thanks for giving that. You're entitled to your opinion.  ;)
 16.
When I played, we did not know what a knee-brace was, but we didn`t  use face-mask eather and you were a sissy if you drank water.  Let`s see,  no pads inside the helmet. No gloves.  If you jumped off-side or missed a block, you got beat with a board.
fortunately we know more now.
 17.
I agree with everybody on the list but Herrera for a few reasons. I am not hating on him, he does remind me a little of the "old Michael Vick", but his offensive line gives him plenty of time to throw the ball or take off running, if they are not rushed. If he is rushed then he collapses. He does have good arm strength, but to me in my personal opinion he does not do well outside the pocket. Again I am not hating on him. He is a good athlete, again I am not hating.
so, he's not good throwing on the run? or he's not good at buying time? both? Just trying to understand.
 18.
We will see who is overrated.  Remember, Livingston was supposed to win 20-4A and y'all didn't even make the playoffs.  Now that sounds a bit overrated to me....  Not that the #3 team is undefeated and taking care of business!
Let all of the naysayers talk down on Brenham, nobody ever takes us serious, and honestly the Cubs like it that way. Coach West would much rather have no publicity whatsoever and be a silent killer. It's funny how all of these people think Brenham is overrated, back to back to back district champs going 29-1 in district...with a State Championship appearance in '09...I wouldn't call that overrated. If the Panthers think they can hang...let em dream. Saturday will do the talking for us.
;Dalright spurrier/holtz..... don't try to poor boy it. Folks know who Brenham is. dont let the bull on this board get you so stirred up. ;)
Actually, I've lived in Brenham all of my life, and went to school here.  You know, the "Birthplace of Texas", the land of ice cream and blue bonnets, and one of the most successful high school athletic programs in the state!  I've never been to Vidor, so why would I hate Vidor?  I will be at the game though, supporting my district.  Something 20-4A schools claim they are the best at.  If that makes me a "brenhamgroupie", that's fine with me...
Wanna make a lil wager? If Vidor wins you gotta change your name to brenhamgroupie and if Montgomery wins then you name it and i'll do it (within reason)  :)
I'm down to make a wager.... I don't like changing my name, but i'm willing to put a steak dinner or papadeaux's on it....  That ok with you?
I don't like the usual steak dinner or anything like that. I like to make wagers that are more interesting. Give me a lil bit and i'll think of something else.  :)
I wouldn't wanna pay for papadeaux's for some guy in green shoes either.  ;)
Look everyone.  Y'all know I have a big mouth on this board, and almost nothing goes without me making some kind of stink.  I will say this...I think we should stop this thread in it's tracks.  A young local boy is dead.  What really happened in "our" eyes is not important.  Let him rest and let his family sort out what they will.  This is a simple request for the sake of the boy.  Thanks.
I understand what you're saying..... I also understand people, his fam included, wanting some answers. His family will likely never get those answers.
