AWESOME... that is what makes a GREAT player. He has total heart for the game. And umm make sure everyone notices when he does get to play... whos on their knees saying a prayer when they run out and get to the other end of the field....He does that at every game. Him and #14 I don't know his name.
Quincy Williams

Central has had problems in the past, but the last few years they have played like one of the classiest teams in the area.
What problems did we (Central) have in the past?
my main issue is that they were terribly...... UNDISCIPLINED  ;D ;D
 3. lately.... I gotta go with Dayton, but BH is a close 2nd... On a good year PNG is right up there.
 4. I'd like to see #1 and #2 play... won't happen..... but IMO that's the #1 defense vs. the #1 offense in the houston area.
 5.

Whoever was asking about Dayton not being ranked last week...  They are back in Houston area rankings at #10 this week.
I see your boys are #1
as they should be.
In 3 weeks rankings don't matter at all...  It's win or go home!
yep..
 6.
All right, I know this one is a classless thread, but I'm gonna borrow a Vidor joke for ya'll. Q. What do you get when you put 32 Crosby cheerleaders in the same room? A. A full set of teeth. :D :o ::)  :P
since we're stealing jokes... I'll steal won from Ned/PNG rivalry. You know what I like about Crosby??? NOTHING!!!!
 7.
Jakari is expected to make a full recovery but I am hearing that he will be out for at least four weeks. This certainly makes the Broncos vulnerable--lets hope he can be ready for the play-offs.
It goes without saying that we're all glad he's still with us, period. I agree, it does make us vulnerable. But if we can run the table (I'd be ecstatic)or go 2-1 the rest of district I'd be very happy. Now we've just gotta lean on another part of our offense. What a homerun threat we lose though. I think McBride has proved and will continue to prove to be a serviceable replacement assuming he plays. Also, I would guess we'll see a larger load put on Herrera and our receivers, as well as more touches for X. I really think our passing game is more capable than we know... If we can get him back for playoffs though, we might be better for the adversity.
 8.
Did you get Darrian Wright laying a block with a full head of steam?  It had to be on an interception.  It happened on the west end of the field between the 30 and 45.  Big hit.  I wish I had tivo in real life so I could watch it over and over again.
I felt bad for the kid he hit! At the end of the first half, my wife turned to me and said, "I don't think it's necessary for our boys to be hitting them so hard!".  :D ;D
 9.
We are trying to be respectful. Didn't you have a player get seriously hurt? And you still want to talk smack?
My thoughts exactly... I appreciate that out of you guys.

That will give them a pretty good look at the mountain top that is elite Texas CC. What grade is Gabe in??
Gabe is a junior, along with most of the team... well, I can see we definitely have our work cut out....I'm going to show Cris these times and hopefully by next year he can cut his time down....I know in Kountze, I believe he ran a 16:50...I believe that was his personal best...I know the moon has to line up just right for your body to perform at that elite status.
He can do his part by committing to the mileage over this next year. Those top programs 48-50 weeks a year.
I know he's a wrestler running cross country, which just means he trains in wrestling year round..CC helps his wrestling.
wow... what a combo. He oughta be tough, that's for sure!!!
 11. Anyone got a score ??? ??? Oh wait, that said 7pm!! My bad.
 12.
I keep hearing the Dayton people talking about Crosby wanting rain. What does the weather have to do with anything? Was it only raining on the Dayton side of the feild last year? Was it dry and sunny when Crosby had the ball? Both teams played in the rain and the better team won. Crosby will win Oct, 29th rain or shine.
sounds good to me... Crosby held on to the ball, Dayton didn't. Will you be back Oct. 30th if your prediction is wrong??
 13.

Wow BrenhamFan. I know you're trying to "keep it real" but what gives? I think it's pretty well known that if Dayton and Brenham get the chance to tango this year, Dayton will be the underdog. No need to hammer that home.
I'm just saying that the shut outs, are more impressive than beating an overrated GP team.  I'm not meaning to take shots at Dayton or anything.  I have alot of respect for coach Stewart's program over there.  I apologize if you took that the wrong way.  Good luck tonight by the way.
Hawkeye.... you seem a little touchy this morning. You had coffee yet?? Don't worry, nothing a little Friday Night Lights won't fix.  ;) Fan, you do a good job of posting objectively.  8)

 15.
STATE ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? Holy Moly, you have never seen high school playoffs after round two, I guess.  There is a huge difference between a State Team and a 2 deep playoff team.  I am a fan of Dayton come playoffs, but come on man....be real.
The way brackets have panned out the past few years, if you get past the 2nd rd... getting to the 4th rd is not unthinkable. I'm def. not predicting a title run or anything, but having a bunch of kids that know what it takes to make a run helps our chances.
 16.
Clueless Predictions maybe...........Lord Man put down the pipe!   ;D
you giving up on BH?? :D
 17.
This is a MUST win game for BH (as are the next 2 after).  Question for you UIL buffs, if Crosby, BH, and King end their seasons like stated below, do we go to a coin toss for final 2 spots?
they go to a point differential from those critical head2heads I believe... coin toss would be to decide playoff seeding. I could be totally off....
 18.
Thanks for the input, but again, I'm not really questioning the accuracy of the content. I was wondering if any other posters are having technical trouble with the Chronicle stat pages. What I mean is, the actual navigation from page to page. Seems to be locking up on me after one page.(only this year) I was wondering if it was me and my computers or is anyone else having the same problem. I'm corresponding with Khan Jr. from the Chronicle trying to get some help on the matter. I'm giving him a link to this thread so now is the time to speak up if you're having trouble.
I've had the same technical problems... I'm thankful for any info that's out there. I know it's a daunting job to manage all that, so I don't necessarily expect 100% accuracy.
 19.
Yes who is Huffman-Hargrave?  Also, Bridge City girls should be ranked but they aren't.  Barbers Hill girls are good this year too.  I am not too familiar with 4A this year, but I would have to guess they are close to cracking the Top 10.
Agreed... they've got their top 5 from 12:10 or so to 12:50... I'd think they're pretty close to being ranked.
 20.
Herrera is a good system QB but not great.
I wonder if everyone would feel like that if he was 6'0" or better. I'm not saying he is great, but what he lacks in running from Ploch last year, he easily makes up for in the throwing dept. Dayton by 35 over GCM
 21.
Crosby plays down to the level of their competetion. TRUE The only team they will shut out will be Dayton, but look at the bright side y’all can still make the playoffs after a loss to Crosby. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
22.
Those are old rankings.  Here are the new rankings. 24.
WOW....WB has 3 or 4 runners...(Chris Reyes my son runs), that place in the top 10 every meet.... ???
I've seen them at some meets this year and was wondering if that was your son... WB is solid, but look at these times compared to WB's WB's top 7 times and places over 5k from last weekend on a fast course 1     16:36 Johnson Gabe Westbrook 3     17:13 Norman Tye Westbrook 6     17:40 Reyes Chris Westbrook 11   18:15 Ramirez Jesus Westbrook 16   18:39 Shivers Jordan Westbrook 23   19:06 McNeil Decorian Westbrook 25   19:25 Martinez Miguel Westbrook Kingwood's top 6 times and places over 5k from 2 weekends ago on a fast course 10   Justin Brinkley          Humble Kingwood           15:53.20 29   Travis Beck             Humble Kingwood           16:13.90     30   Todd Bennett          Humble Kingwood           16:14.50     35   Tyler Brady             Humble Kingwood           16:16.50     36   Logan Terry            Humble Kingwood           16:16.70     60   Ben Parva               Humble Kingwood           16:55.40     look how close their top 5 guys are to each other... 23 seconds and they're in!!! Kingwood is ranked #4 and the other teams really aren't far behind. The WB coach is doing a great job and the runners are too. The size of the meets make a big difference with the places. They have come a long way, but there's a long way to go before being in the top 10 statewide. It's amazing how good those top ten schools are.... Most of them could field a B team that would beat most the schools in this area. Take a look at this link and look at what some of the marks that some of those top programs put up.   [Hidden Content]
 25.
What difference does it make about the last 15 years? In most recent history Crosby spanked Dayton 28-0. Oct, 29th Crosby will spank them again.
I can't imagine how much of the stuff from this site will be on Dayton and Crosby's bulletin boards in a couple weeks. ON TOPIC....
