i will agree... Merka is the real deal... he is the only one QB with a verbal to a major D1 before the season started in this area so im sure he is the best...... the first part of the season, both last year and this year, he did not have great games..... mainly due to o-line problems and rec who cant catch or run the wrong route.. hard to throw from your back.. but as you can see, just like last year, the coaches make their adjustments, coach up the kids, and are getting better.... Go Coogs!!
hitman.... I forget... He is going to get a shot to play QB at TCU right?
from what i heard yes... if things do not work out they may move him to TE
thanks

However, it is more real than some want to openly admit.  After 200 years of slavery, maybe, just maybe the blacks deserve at least 150 years of complaining!!! Just a thought!   56 years of integration 29 years in Beaumont ISD still an issue in some small towns 12 years since the dragging and murder of James Bird 5 years since a house was burned down in Vidor when a black male moved in with his white girlfriend 2 years since a little town in Alabama had their first integrated prom Currently, the first and only Black President is considered the "anti-Christ" in some circles!  :o It hasn't been that long ago, when a governor of Arkansas addressed integration of the school system and said, "We, as [glow=red,2,300]Americans[/glow], cannot allow this to happen!"  Almost to think that Blacks aren't Americans.   I say all that to say this, "We still have a long way to go!"
very true... only trouble is, the people that need to be complained to are gone.

QB Jake Burkhalter had a stellar game, completing 20 of 26 passes for 263 yards and three touchdowns.- Tell  me Dayton can't hang with the big boy's - ;)
Ya but Dayton lost to both. ;)
Nobody said we won !  We should of but we didn't - for Elkins our D-1 prospect WR Fowler didn't even play and I think our number two WR was hurt also - Dayton always starts slow and peaks at playoff time this years team is improving by leaps and bounds we are going to be really dangerous come play-off time ! ;D
Fowler did play... he had the Friday Football Frenzy play of the week with a long pass reception from Andres.  ;) You're right about Reyes though. I agree with you, Elkins putting it on Hightower like that, makes the 8-3 game vs Elkins look a lot better.

I like it. Seriously though, can anyone remember Stewart trying any fakes or trick plays of any kind? I can't remember any for the last several years, but considering my memory, that aint sayin much.
All I can think of is the one wher AJ would go in motion, take the pitch and throw it deep.... usually to Ronnie Powell.
Used to use it with Andrew Thomas as well, Green's Sophmore year. Effective but not usually necessary. Besides its early in the year, we are still in the front of the play book. I would like to address Dayton fanse questioning the play calling. Nations and Krause spend countless hours developing these game plans based on the opponents defensive scheme and every week it changes. I don't pretend to know or understand everything these coaches do, but please don't question the play calling when you don't even know the game plan. Have you ever questioned a play and then 2 plays later we are in the endzone. That questionable play may have been what set it up. There are plenty of other aspects of the game to complain about and discuss without questioning our coaches.
No questioning here (i know you weren't addressing me ;)).... We Dayton fans are spoiled to big plays and scoring in 3 or 4 snaps. I like the long drives though that chew up clock and we seem to be getting some of those lately. In the state title game, we may have been a little too explosive considering we had kids going both ways. The thing I think that a lot of people miss is that the majority of the plays that AJ, Jakari, etc. take to the house are designed to go 5-10 yards. Agreed, Nations and Craus, and the others spend a ton of time with film, planning, etc.... I'll definitely leave it to them.
You lack the talent this year.   ;)
I'm happy if we take 10-12 to score.

And BTW I’m approaching 200,  Mr. “I got 18,000”.  :P Yes, you know who you are! Okay, so maybe I’m just jealous. It would be great if SETX would put a GREEN WITH ENVY smiley on here, would sure save some posters time. Instead of writing a rebuttal, we could just throw up the green smiley. And how about a smiley with some pouty lips just for me!  ;D I could use them right about now! Besides, one of the Lamar fans got what he wanted in the college forum and I never got nothin’.  (Insert pouty lips here)
[Hidden Content] this should help ex: ] copy and paste the forum code into your post for the smiley you want.

Thats like having a highlight reel against a freshman team. Then you said that Dayton couldn't stop the Hill? Are you (insert your choice of word here) kidding me? N I Seen Dayton Stats Not To Many Offenses Touchdowns If You Know What I Mean! GP Has Like The Best QB n WRs Dayton Has Seen All Year I Mean The QB Is Number 2 N the State N GP Has 4 Great Wideouts n 2 of them Who Is top 5 In The State N Yards N Catches n TDs! Anymore???????????
When you had a cupcake predistrict, those numbers can be expected. We have seen some of the best QBs and receivers in the state the past few years... I'd be very surprised if GP's kids are on that level. I'm not saying we have any kids that level either. Numbers don't mean a lot when you haven't played anyone formidable. As far as the videos.... fantastic production!!! But, Dayton will tackle much better than those teams. Lay off the shift key, or put your phone on the proper setting.
