We do not live for rankings - and we do not act like we are the greatest team on earth - we have not won any state titles so stop all the hatin - one fan gets on your board and gets you upset and many of you act like little kids, get over it already. We have to win on the field. We do not come on here saying we are the best. By the way Lake Travis is the best. Capiche!! PS Glad we are on so many of your minds, keep it up!! PS - we are not as fast as Central and WOS! But Angleton is!
Yeah... but FW not being in the top 25 is a complete joke! Those boys can play and Van Meter and his staff can sure as heck coach. Y'all should be in the top 10 with what ya'll have returning.

SETXsports.com Preseason High School Football Rankings

I believe WB returned 19 from a team that went 3 or 4 rounds deep in the 5A playoffs last year. They are right where they need to be IMO... at #1. -
The total number of posts by the fans calling Soulja a jerk or hater is a good indicator to how well they know him as a poster... which apparently is not very well. Keep on keepin' on Soulja. :) To those two knuckleheads.... more reading and less posting if you can't spot some friendly smack better than that. ;) ;)

They have not made the playoffs since 1997 and I think they only made it once previously. And btw, does anyone know what happened to the historical data.
I think there was a bit of a falling out between the person who compiled all that data and the administrators, etc. of this site. I don't know any details though...... AggiesAreWe might be a good one to ask.

west orange stark @ friendswood @ Deer Park
dayton replied to skipper's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Friendswood is pretty good at neutralizing speed mismatches IMO. They always have their kids in position to make plays and they RARELY miss tackles. Friendswood special teams is also pretty strong. Friendswood has good depth also. This game will be good for WOS but I don't see them winning. -

Check the Rankings last year and explain why Dayton didn't win the Championship hmmmmm Maybe it was because Crosby didn't see the rankings last year. Here is an idea ;D Lets rent a bill board in Crosby and post the rankings for this year then Dayton will have to win then!!!!!! ;D
In the end.... Crosby was buying playoff tickets to watch the Bronocs play (something Barbers Hill football fans are very accustomed to).
yea... to see how much farther they could have gone if they went div II..... if dayton went that far and crosby smoked them... who knows... they could have rings on their fingers right now!!!
Crosby, definitely would've won state in DII. -

3. How will a move to Class 4A affect Baytown Lee? The Ganders have struggled in recent seasons but were still able to snag a playoff berth in District 21-5A last year. Moving into 19-4A will put them with teams more comparable in size, which should help.
That's what you call in-depth, hard-hitting analysis right there folks.
And after further research.... 4A has one less A than 5A. For those Ganders who are partial to even numbers of A's, the move is a huge sigh of relief. -
i think bh will have a hard time making the playoffs and may not. dayton will, but they cannot be as good as in the past three years. injuries will make a difference as always, but if all healthy, dayton goes out in second round and bh never gets there to find out.
I respectfully disagree.
It's not about how many points GCM scores. It's about Dayton NOT scoring more than 20. I'm willing to bet the ranch, the blue cheese, and the thousand island!
This will be GCM weakest year yet. They have a promising future but, this year is gonna be tough. Dayton will score more than 20 and GCM will have trouble getting on the board at all.
1. 9 starters (that's 9 out of 11) on defense. That means your success the past two years (the first 2 years for GCM by the way) was against soph's and jr's. 2. Most of your points last year were scored on a VERY young Patriot secondary. Ploch and Xfer lit them up. Where are they this year? 3. The young GCM offense will have it's "sea legs" by the time they roll into Dayton. I'll stick to my prediction! Less than 20.
I'll go out on a limb with you GCMPats........Dayton scores 17. You have to understand, unless your from Dayton or a lacking 20-4A, you see the 2010 Dayton for what they are and that's average at best. Now.....after we spank them in district we will still pull for them against 20-4A, just to keep those teams East in check. Pats....Only one question: How the heck is your only starter on Offense going to score when he is a Center? GCM 0 Dayton 17
GCMpats, all of that sounds reasonable, but consider this Ploch and Franks are gone but everyone else is still there with the addition of multiple talented sophomores. BH89, a positive attitude is great but really you should be preparing for the worst. BH is gonna be scouring the bottle of the barrel.
While we're being bold... I'll go ahead and predict that Dayton's Offense is going to be better even without Ploch and Frank.
I will go on record right now and tell you that Dayton WILL NOT score over 20 points against GCM. Win, maybe. Blow out, no way!
:o :o
Van Meter is not prone to exaggerations, so that makes me think he is the real deal. Plus, he started for Pearland (albeit on the offensive line) last year, and they are a quality team.
hurts me to say it,... but I agree with you. I don't think the story would've run if he wasn't a real difference maker. -

19-4A vs 20-4A Who would win?
Dayton lost more district games the two years it was in 22-4A than it has the last two years... Just saying
we lost one .... Lumberton (8-7) in the 06-07 years in the bmt. district and again lost one.... Crosby in the (28-0) 08-09 years in this district. 1 is equal to 1... thanks 8) ;) :D -
I think the Broncos are going to go 1-2 in preseason with a possible win over Angelton. Ike by 30+ Elkins by 20+ and Broncos by 3 over Angelton. That being said BH will get to deal with a pissed off Bronco team at their house :o Hopefully BH will be settling into their new scheme and give the Bronco's a game. I don't think the Broncos will be seeing a 80-90% running game from BH as Cages teams in the past had a pretty balanced Run to Air ratio, but we will see ;D
The broncos have been beaten by 30+ only 3 times since '96. Twice by Nederland and once by Austin Lake Travis. IMO, we are going to be much stronger this year than those Ned years and I can guarantee Ike isn't gonna be an LT caliber offense. I know they have a ton of athletes, but no one in this area is as good as LT on O.
