I have no problem with the score of the Yates game (170-35).  My disappointment is that the team was still pressing.  I don't think they should have stopped playing hard, shot only left handed jump shots, or tried to miss free throws.  I think the kids should try to play hard and score if you can.  I just think you take off the press.  Likewise in baseball, you should not stop trying to hit the ball, only bunt, or have to hit from the opposite side, but I do think you should stop stealing, don't take extra bases, and rotate subs in at their positions.  To me this is the best way to handle the situation so your team improves and the other team is not embarressed.
good post
 2. no class! unless... I think you minimize by going station to station when running the bases... no extra bases even on balls in gaps, no steals. I would keep swinging the bats though. Not sure what can be done pitching wise besides going to your last resort pitchers... maybe straight fastballs. were any of these things done? I think these things are the equivalent of taking away the full court press... which was what yates should've done.
looked very strong in the 300s last week. He was very good last year as well. Probably could've gone to state last year if not for LaCour and Casey. I'm glad for him to have another shot this year.

 6. Tell me again where this kid is from....  ??? ;D ;) :)
 7. Dayton and BH use FAT.... I believe Nederland has in the past as well.
 8.
The results posted are from last year
I was wondering how PAM ran 10 seconds slower in the 4x4 than last week.... not to mention Franks with another 10.15...  :D :D
 9.
I'd like to see Dayton punch Angleton in the face at the beginning of the year.It will be fun to watch the chronicles 4-A darling get frustrated by a team (Dayton) that plays solid, disciplined defense.  I also want to see ol Ballpoint get mad and lay out Quandre Diggs when he tries to turn the corner.  (Ballpoint better be hitting the weights hard this offseason, somebody let me know how he is progressing. That kid could be really, really good)
He's graduating.
 10. He's a triathlete now. Google his name.... Jeff Cutrer and you'll find plenty. He was outstanding!! He had a good career at UT. Manzano just went off in college!
I assume so... or brannon from ozen. saw Franks run last week. STUD! I'm a little surprised they don't go to bigger meets to show their stuff. they've got great relays with Franks and Haynes and they'd get some FAT times that everyone would recognize.
FAT or HAND HELD its doesnt really matter.. the only real times that matter are the 2 it takes to get to AUSTIN.. (District & Regionals)  Both Brannon and the relays from WOS will show up when its time too..
very true... I'd just like to see them on some big time national lists throughout the year... they deserve the recognition.

That'd  be nice though.

And we dont play Cleveland or Coldsprings till the last 2 games, so we might alredy be in the playoffs when we have to play those 2 teams that are going to kill us.
I understand being a realist... but that's not a good attitude to have. A lot can happen between now and football season! You just focus on busting your tail to make good grades and to get better on the football field and leave the posting (especially negative stuff) to the non-student-athletes on this site.  :D
 18.
I won't eat at the Chili's in Liberty ever again. The service sucks, on three seperate occassions we have been served food that was either cold, not cooked all the way through and in one case they gave my daughter a bowl full of rancid oranges. I know what made us go back, we were with other people who had not had problems before so we thought each time "maybe it has been fixed". Not once did their manager ever come and apologize or even off to comp a meal or anything. We finally complained on the website and got vouchers but we never used them there. We go to the one in either Baytown or Atascacita. Jax is great. Casa Don Boni is very good also. Mas Amigos is not very good IMO. Los Compadres in Dayton is good as is Jose's, Quizno's in Liberty is also good if you want fast food other than Jack in the Box, McD's or BK, Taco Bell, Whataburger, Sonic or DQ in either Dayton or Liberty.
So... let me get this straight... you're a no for Chili's in Liberty??  :)

Hope that was sarcastic Buc....I went to 5 home games. He didn't do much at all except waive fair catches on punts. They won't be missed.
really?  he was their top recruit, a parade all-american and blue chip athlete he was expected to vie for a starting spot in the wide open spread at UH in '10...he learned the scheme in a secondary role and it was speculated he would have a 1000 yard season... he was a true freshman...on a huge stage...it's impressive he knew when to call fair catch and actually catch it... i'd say they had something invested in him, and he'll be missed
no doubt.... I'll take 12+ yds a touch out of a true freshman. I hope the rumors are just rumors and AJ can find a way to continue playing.

GCM- Not sure about the fourth spot, but if I had to guess, GCM would be my pick.
I'm thinking like you are except GCM could bump either 3 or 4 in my opinion. I've got my money on herrera being successful.
BrenhamFan I think it is wonderful that you took the time to drive to Crosby and show support for this family. We definitely need more people like you in this world!
"My brothers, what use is it for a man to say he has faith when he does nothing to show it? Can that faith save him? Suppose a brother or a sister is in rags with not enough food for the day, and one of you says, 'Good luck to you, keep yourselves warm, and have plenty to eat', but does nothing to supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So with faith; if it does not lead to action, it is in itself a lifeless thing." (James 2:14-17).
I love that quote....and it was definatly worth the drive.  An afternoon out of my time, 91 miles and a hour and a half in traffic was a small price to pay, to witness the look on the Brown family's faces when coach Flanigan introduced me and told them that I drove from Brenham to support them.  If you don't know this family, let me tell you that just meeting them was one of the most inspiring moments in my life.  It's amazing how greatful and high-spirited they are, considering all that they're facing.  As for that football that sold for $2000, all I can say is wow!  I was surprised when the bidding was at $1400, but when that gentleman stood up and yelled, "$2000".  I'm not sure where that guy is from, but he didn't even hesitate.  $2000, now that's some hate.   Hate, that not only will fuel 2 schools that are involved in a great rivalry, but will help a great family in hard times.  Sounds funny, but that's exactly what it did.
:D :D  ;D ;D
