Mas Amigos... pretty good.

 3.
The varsity boys mile relay results are wrong. Top two were 1st Lumberton( Borque, Mcdonald, Patterson, Keith) ,2nd Nederland,
And the winning time was 4:08??? or are the times wrong too??? I expected a little more out of a 4A varsity squad... especially with Keith in the mix.
I kinda chalked that up to having it typed out in order not to fall apart. he coulda read through that a few more times before hand to make it a little smoother though.
What you smokin'?
they must've got into your "peace pipe" collection!!  ;D
 7.
PNG won and you are not man enough to admit you were outplayed. Wow I feel for you! You must've been a real piece of work after the football game this past fall.
Not that he needs it.... but I'll come to Soulja's defense on this one. He always gives credit where it's due... He did say they got outrebounded (part of being outplayed, IMO). You're only 103 posts old around here so I'm not surprised you don't already know this.
 8.
when was the last time Dayten beat WOS.
When was the last time WOS made it TO or PAST the State quarterfinals 3 years in a row?? ;)
 9.

where did you get the the 19 starters from aggie
From Coop, the resident WOS Mustang football expert. (just for clarification, I was told by one of the coaches at WOS that the actual number of returning starters for WOS is 16) With that many starters returning, that's far from a rebuilding year.
All of WOS seemed to be saying last year that they were young and that this year would be the year. Skipper is just doing a little crawfishing in case they underachieve.

 11.
Its so funny when people talk about the 6th,7th,8th,and 9th grade teams..Crosby won district and that group of kids may have won a total of 6 games from there 7th-9th grade...
the success at the lower grades has been a good measuring stick for Dayton for the past decade plus. I know it doesn't hold water everywhere but it's been a good indicator here.
 12.
Could you guys chill with the big words and statistics I'm sure the Dayton and Crosby folks are having a hard time keeping up ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Rumor is that Dayton's 7th and 8th graders could take the varsity district next year, so why even worry :D
What does statistics mean??   ;D ;D
Name and position?? just curious.... thanks!!
I was at the state meet when he did it. Eshbach was just ridiculous.... I think Orangefield had 2 other 16 footers that same year.... and a herd of other good vaulters. what was that coach's name??? can't remember.

I'm pretty sure I could round up some kids for Dayton"s 2010 team that even Stewart couldn't win a game with.
It's not necessary to have big time D1 talent though.ie. a 5'6" 125 lb. sophomore QB
It sure does not hurt! ;D
no doubt.... Our deepest runs were when we did have some.... but there have been some darn good years over here without it.

Good coaching or the Rogers brothers?  ;)
hard to argue that!
 18.
Lydell Wilson from Lamar Consolidated will be the next head coach at C. E. King.  He will be on campus full time in the next week to ten days.
good hire ... I think Wonder why he would want to leave Lamar Consolidated. The district just got a little tougher.
 19.
you could be right dude Barbers Hill and Lee are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Barbers Hill has little in the raw athletes department, but they have a good system in place.  They get the kids involved early.  They are well coached.  They are in the same system from optimist on up.  They are pretty well formed into a nice cohesive unit that is playing up the best of their ability by high school. Lee is just all over the place.  Lee usually has 4-5 D1 athletes on the squad at any one time.  They have a ton of guys that play freshman ball and look like all world contributors, then they move, they drop out, they go to jail, they quit football to sell drugs....whatever the case may be. Lee's team looks like a bunch of guys that just showed up and learned they were going to be teammates the day before each game.  Mistakes out the wazoo, no cohesion, no unity...just a bunch of athletes trying to make it by. Take last year's team for instance. When that group of seniors were freshman, they beat the tar out of everyone. I watched at least 7 or 8 games their freshm,an year and they went undefeated in the ones I saw.  they may have lost a game or two that I wasn't able to make, but not by much.  the games I saw they beat the stuffings out of Sterling and Memorial and Channelview. Problem is....their best players were Xavier Ruben, Jarret Havins, Shack Calderon, Rashawn Williams, Nathan Dominique, Curtis Louis, Trey Murray and Trent Warren. Of those, only Ruben, Murray and Warren played for Lee last year. Havins was on and off the team, never did much, Calderon who knows what happened, Rashawn Williams went to Sterling, Louis went to GCM I guess as he is on their basketball team, Domonique who knows. So of the top 8 players, only 3 of them made it to their senior year.  All three of those were solid players for Lee. If you go back even farther, I can remember the class that was supposed to be a state ranked team a few years earlier.  Josh Jones, Jarvis Moore, Desarian Cartwright, Jarret Driver, Michael Mahan, etc. Driver was convicted of murder, Cartwright lef tthe team, Mahan was on and off the team. the year before that, Grady Richardson made the varsity as a freshman, never heard from him again. Jarret's brother Jermaine was a varsity linebacker as a freshman, his senior year he was off the team.\ I remember back in the mid 90's... what you saw on the freshman team, that was what you were going to see 4 years later on the varsity.  Not the case any more at least for Lee.
sad... .
I grew up in Beaumont around my older relatives that made sure they informed us kids about Vidor and what happened in the past.  All of the bad, the hate.  Growing up as a man, I had the opportinity to meet all kinds of people including Vidorians.  Most of them are my age.  Figured they were good people although some of them were not as in all towns and communities.  Going to All Central Football games and going to Vidor, I have met Vidor football fans, 2 of them I have personally met and sat with durring games.  Point is that all the stuff that my older relatives were saying about Vidor and their people appears to not be going on.  Like everyone is agreeing with on this thread there is more good than bad in Vidor. Should have given them a chance, Crosby.  Those 2 board members need to open their hearts and let go of that hate.
good post Soulja.
 21.

It is a pretty weak district overall...which is really disappointing for me. I would of much rather made the drive to Crosby and Dayton, then Huntsville and Willis... I have it finishing out like this. 1. Humble 2. Huntsville 3. Kingwood Park 4. Willis 5. Summer Creek 6. Caney Creek 7. New Caney 8. Porter I have got to tell you...i am not liking this district.   This is pretty much a run through of the worst kind.   On top of it all, Humble was unable to schedule a decent Non-District game. I am hearing...now this is through word of mouth and its been telephoned a couple times...Humble's Non-District: Not yet filled, Baytown Sterling, Pas. Dobie... Huntsville and Baytown Sterling are our strongest games on the schedule....yuck.
How could Baytown Sterling be one of your strongest games??? New Caney beat them this year and I think the New Caney sophmore team destroyed Sterling.  I think porter will finish above Summer Creek.
that's his point.... their schedule is weak.... that's why he said yuck.
 22.
crosby and dayton might be looking @ 0-3 at the end of non district.
I could see us losing a couple of games early.... we're historically slow starters and we'll be a little young on the lines next year. Those games will only make us better though. The Broncos are always prepared come district. With our new district and a tough preseason, there's no doubt we'll be battle tested for our 15th playoffs in a row.
 23.
coop, you need to run by and see what coach T has in his weight room ,you will be  :o :o :o :o. coach thompson says it looks alot like a little NFL go see
Last year, during the offseason, you said it looked like WWF in there!! ;) I suppose a little NFL would be better than that.  :)
 24. that's a tough schedule for sure. Dayton's got a tough one as well... FB Elkins Angleton Aldine Eisenhower Both teams oughta be geared up for sure.
 25.
The offense is based on confusion with a principle in mind.  The bone is not a gimmick since there is basic principles it is based upon.  How complex are the principles is the real question?  3-3 stack (the blitz and run thru gaps defense) has few sound principles.  As far as the I goes, and the bone, the spread is based on athletes only.  You have them or you do not.
Just so no one is confused... the highlighted phrase is an opinion and not a fact. If you think you can run the spread without good execution, timing and discipline. You are out of you gourd.
