In Football this week, we saw the Tide Roll. Hoping tonight to see the Hawks [s]Fly[/s] oops, I mean SOAR!
Yes we saw the lower ranked team win. Hopefully that trend continues. Go Tigers!
Yes the lower ranked team did win. But if I remember correctly, it was the TIGERS that went down. ;) I am just looking forward to some great basketball!
Yes, and the team that was favored to win came away with a decisive victory! You heard it here first. Tigers are going to be shut out for the first team in their basketball history! -
HJ vs Silsbee who wins
FanintheStands replied to PoppaBearstarr's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The key for HJ is not to let Silsbee get off on one of their 14-0 runs to start the game. If HJ keeps it close throughout the 1st quarter, all will be well. -
Keys to Victory For Silsbee Friday Night
S
Over/under on points scored 150?
Under about 135 or 140
Absolutely. The defenses are so intense, that this will not be a high-scoring affair. -
Did you come up with this all by yourself??
Do you really think BadSanta can remain focused long enough to come up with this list all by himself?!?! -

Players gotta execute. And obviously Nederland players were better prepared mentally for this game.
Dove- Please join me in offering the congratulations to Nederland that they so richly deserve.
You know me. I'm with the winning side ;D Go Nederland...yeah-hhhhhh!
Except when HJ is the winning side, eh?

**HJ vs EVADALE BROADCAST**/HJ WINS 83-46!
FanintheStands replied to Lazeek's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
(Hopefully) It will be nice not watching Silsbee get 3 or 4 shots every time they get the ball! -
2008 Silsbee beat HJ by 12 to go to state for the 1st time in forever.
I think Silsbee jumped out to an 18-1 lead (or something like that). HJ then spent the next 2-1/2 quarters fighting to get back into the game, even taking a 6 or 8 point lead. In the end, Silsbee came back and won. I think Walters lit us up that entire game. Dude hit about 87 3-pointers!
Yes. That's our starting linup. Wilridge (6'6") and Guillery (sp) are starting freshmen and Garrison Mitchell is a starting sophomore. He's the one that dropped 37 points on Wheatly in the Gamble Classic.
So, with a nucleus like that, I guess we'll be hearing about Central for a few years, eh?

LC-M vs. Central 1/6/2012 predictions

I'm predicting LCM is going to step it up to make up for their loss to Ozen. I am also going to buy a lottery ticket.
There is a problem with that. We're not Ozen. We've beaten them 3 times already. We've even beaten them without the services of our best player. So, you think you will come into Central's gym and leave with a W based on the fact that you lost to Ozen?
I think BIGFan might be joshing with you. If LCM beats Central, then he knows he's got a good chance to win the lottery. C'mon, man! -
UNLESS you're the H-J basketball team. 8)
Hmmm....... Why is Blake Griffon always shown on ESPN highlights? Or Dwight Howard? Is it because of their 15 foot jump shots? Anybody who had played the game knows that there is something special about a dunk.... or being dunked on. Granted, there are a handful of teams that are able to yawn during a dunk, but there are many teams out there that let it bother them. For instance, how many times do you see coaches call a timeout after a dunk? I'm just sayin'

Why would 3A power houses do this???

Do you question why Kentucky and Ohio State play Lamar? -

This team just keeps doing it day in and day out. Night in and night out. 6 games in 2 days, 5 games in 1 day, it dont' matter. They don't get tired, they take care of business. Silsbee will have to bring it like they've never brought it before to keep up with these high flying Hawks.
I don't think Silsbee gets tired either. Rebounding and free throw shooting is my concern with Silsbee.
Yeah, there have been a couple of times in the past few years that Silsbee was overwhelmingly considered better than HJ and HJ had to bring their "A" game against Silsbee. Those were some incredible games.
