HtGuys i am a long time tiger fan and always will be but i cant help but wnder why we can't win a state championship i know it's not easy but with the talent that we have had for atleast the past 10-15 years you mean to tell me we can't just win 1 much less even get t the state tittle game it seems like something some how just keeps us from winning the big game hopefully i'm not being to hard but i'm a little upset right now will we ever win a state championship or  just continue to rack up great regular seasons :)
To me, there's an element of luck.  Every year, there are 4 - 5 teams that have a decent chance of winning state.  Its the one team that can avoid those bad breaks (or unlucky breaks) that ends up bringing the trophy home.
 2. To those of ya'll who remember the Nederland - PNG game where Nederland played for the final shot (holding the ball for the last 2:40 seconds), did this game seem familiar?  And IMO, [s]Sealy[/s], er, Stafford played it right.  They contested every pass and there were several times where HJ almost lost the ball or dribbled into trouble.  And, in the end, it succeeded for them, for they got a strong chance to hit the winning bucket.  My only suggestion is that they should have fouled with about 5-6 seconds to go because they only had 5 team fouls at that point. BTW, was Gus fouled on the final drive to the basket?  I don't know.  There was contact but who initiated it?  i think the referees didn't want to determine who the winner was so they let the play go.  it was, IMO, a 50-50 call.

Ozen is a good 2nd pl team who beat a District Champ. Ozen is no joke. They beat Silsbee this year, and played Nederland tough one game.
Give Dove a break.  He's not familiar with the play-off system so he wouldn't know a strong bracket from a weak bracket.  ;)
 4. And another thing, I think Gus tipped away the ball on [s]Sealy's[/s] ,er, Stafford's last play in regulation.  But when I saw the ball land in #10's hands, I thought we were dead meat.  The dude had a funny looking, but deadly, jump shot.  He was there only shooter that was hitting from the outside.
 5.
Easily the best 6 seconds I have ever seen in a high school game..............Bosha cutting up the lane and Prudhomme driving baseline and Bosha lobs it for Prudhomme and the one handed alley, then Prudhomme steals the in bounds pass and takes two dribbles coming down the lane and tomahawk dunks on some dudes head!!!!!! ;D ;D :o :o
Actually, it looked like a replay of the YouTube video where we played who, Liberty 3 years ago?  Trey Burrell and Jacoby Turner were the two stars of that one.
 6. 75% Free Throws from the field and we needed every one of them tonight!!!! Wow!!!!!

The Hawks really suffered when Joe Persohn wasn't in there.   As previously posted, the dude should get the purple heart. Finally, Prudhomme is a beast!!!!  I counted at least 4 dunks, including 2 incredible alley-oops!!!  And that run in overtime where he got the alley-oop and then stole the ball and dunked it again...... that was incredible! Great game, Hawks!!!!!! Keep Soaring, Baby!!!!
We played Stafford not Sealy!!!
Ouch!!!!!!  I can't believe it!  I kept checking the score on the Silsbee-Sealy game....... and, oh well.  ::)

 9.
Steve, you are correct, and I know the school you are talking about. About 3 hours north of HJ.  But 99 percent of the time, PEOPLE will not allow change to happen.  This includes, Admin, parents, Principals, AD's.  The thing about it is you have too many politics and too many people that are ignorant but think that they are not when it comes to basketball.  I hear ignorant statements all the time by parents and people that think they know basketball that it makes me slightly vomit in my mouth.  For the most part, maybe 5 percent of the population understand the game of basketball and what it takes to achieve success.  The other 95 percent dont care, dont realize they dont understand, or are roughshod over by polititical agandas.
Wow, I thought he was talking about Nederland.
 10. Go Hawks!!!  It's time to soar, baby!

If you remember them being a basketball power, then you are probably much younger than me (maybe the TJ Ford era?). Just curious
Pumper - I actually lived in Missouri City & was there from 1st-4th grades('74-'78 I think) & maybe I confused Willowridge with Dulles.  I wanna say Willowridge was the big dog in football around there @ that time.  I didn't really follow high school basketball then - just college & the NBA.
Ahhhhh, 1st through 4th grade....... Best 6 years of my life!
To those who feel the need to post opinions about the criminal case that is pending, learn the difference between alleged and convicted. You guys are walking a thin line of bias that is created by the media with all the facts not yet revealed. Let the legal system judge their actions and decide their fate and the rest of us can keep pretending we know everything about sports in setx. The Indians will be a man down but they are ready to play. Sometimes the best way to clear the mind of real life struggles is the raw competition and escape that sports provide. This is my hope for the Indians. These boys don't deserve to see their opportunity in the playoffs by tainted or ruined by this other event. My prayer to all parties involved in the criminal matter, both victim and accused, may God's peace be with you all.
Amen!  None of us knows the entire story.  Its not ours to judge.
Yes, they get some of the receipts.  But if you fill a house with 1000 people...........  I don't think so. BTW, I certainly hope you mean the money going to the table is "above the table", eh?  ;) jk
If you put 1000 people in the seats then both schools will not only not lose money but make money. The officials in the playoffs get mileage & flat fee (no gate).
which was exactly my point.  You put Silsbee with another marquee team for a warm up game, then your gate receipts will more than cover any referee fees.  The 40 mile limit couldn't be a financial decision, for it makes no sense.
40 miles?!?!?  What's up with that?  Won't the gate receipts cover the cost of gas?
 21.
Close 1st half with Silsbee pulling away latein the 3rd. Silsbee 63 Sealy 50
You're close.  Silsbee will pull away to open the 3rd.  When you run a team into the ground in the first half, they tend to come out to start the 3rd simply flat as pancakes.  I've seen HJ do that numerous times in the past, and I have a feeling this will be a trend with Silsbee during these play-offs.  Good Luck guys...... at least until you meet HJ in Hunstville!  ;)
