That is considerably less than 30-40!!!! ;D ;D ;D
Considerably.
Ahhh....... (deciding to join in on the beating of dead horses), since the average margin of victory is 20.75, then percentages say that for every 1-10 point victory, there is a 30-40 point victory.  Hence, to project a 30-40 point victory is rather logical if one follows the bell curve for margins of victory.
My advice....... although it is unsolicited: "Cut out the middle man and simply throw your money out the car window".   ;)
 3.
Yes, all I can do is continue to try.  And I think you are right because with all the scrutiny that my comments receive, I am bound to get it right sooner or later.  Additionally, now that I understand that such oversight is acceptable, I will not feel badly when I provide some myself. That will be  o n l y  for the sake of accuracy and/or clarity, of course.
... Well, you know what they say.  Something about enough monkeys at typewriters could eventually write a Shakespearean play.  I guess if they could do that, then we could expect you to get it right sooner or later....... probably later..... but you get the picture.  ;)

I just know how Tiger basketball works. I was a member of the 31-1 team and a few others that didn't have the focus going into the playoffs. Ill be happy if Travis can make it back.
Hmm.... I could have sworn I read where you said you never played high school basketball.
 5. "Ask and ye shall receive....." My son just came home with a "Hardin Country Havoc" T-shirt They are selling for $15.00 at HJ High School!!!!
 6. BTW, where is Evadale on that list?  Or did they have to trudge through such a tough pre-season that they aren't on the list yet?
 7. You just HAD to add that little Vidor ditty, didn't you?  ;)
 8.
Prudhomme and Bosha are good, but Gustonfson needs to shot more.
... and the choir sings, "AMEN!" Gus has shot more these last two games and he's hit a high percentage from behind the 3 pt. line. It's refreshing to see, because it adds a new dynamic to the team.
 9. HJ will take this by 20, although it will be an 6-10 pt game going into the 4th quarter.
Wouldnt it be better to credit the team for the win or loss or whatever rather than singling out an individual..  Often times, when an individual has impressive statistics, much of it can be credited to action taken by some other teammate(s).  When Gustafson went 4 for 4 from three point range the other night at West Orange, a good portion of the credit for that goes to the defense being overly concerned with the three point shooting ability of Bosha and Sutherland.  So, in spite of not making a single three themselves, I believe Bosha and Sutherland were partially responsible for the success Gustafson had with the long shots.
I agree, its a team effort and, to me, HJ is all about team effort.  I just recall that the Cleveland game was one of the few play-off games were Jarvis had trouble.  I also recall that the traveling calls were called on Jarvis when he was doing the same thing he'd done all year (and never was called for traveling).  And missed free throws?  Well, unfortunately, that also is an HJ tradition. I do seem to remember that half the Cleveland fans went home with a minute to go and they were down by 7.  Those people missed a great overtime session(s).

 12. Do you think Coach Richard is simply investing in the future, knowing that his team is going to be stronger in the coming years and teaching them to play with 10 players instead of 5?  I mean, I know that if I was going to play 20 minutes instead of 29 or 30, I could go all out and play with a higher level of intensity.
 13.
Wow Prudhomme with 30 & Bosha with 23, I would have thought that HJ would have been able to balance out the scoring better against BC but maybe the game conditions didn't allow for that.
A lot of easy layups coming off of turnovers.  Bosha and Prudhomme play the front of the press.

I thought he just had surgery or was about to have surgery.
Did Will really play?  I thought it was determined his season was over.
I did too. But I heard Rob talking about Anderson on the sidelines with ice on his knee after playing about a minute. Not sure what's going on with him.
Anderson practiced yesterday and said everything felt good.  He came in during the 2nd and got a steal, but I thought he landed funny.  You couldn't tell if anything was wrong, but he took himself out of the game a minute later.  Then out came the ice.

I think HJ is a great team and I never belittled them. There have been times when I was ashamed of the fans that cheer for my alown ma mater. I believe that HJ has a game that speaks for itself and they do not fans that belittle others all the while calling it "passion". Be supportive of your team and cheer for god's sake. Just realize that on any given night you could be beat by any given team and what will your reactions be when that happens. Will you give the other team the respect that they have quite obviosuly earned or will you get on and run your head about how it was pure luck, our pg was injured, or it won't happen again. Maybe your not the type, but many of your beloved "hecklers are. Overall the message is be a passionate and supportive fan, not an obnoxious one!
When the hecklers were in their prime (2008 or so), I used to cringe when I'd hear them sing "Na, Na, Hey, Hey, Goodbye" when the game was over.  All I could think of is, "ooh, this is going to haunt us some time in the future".   I had to sit there two weeks ago and listen to the Silsbee faithful sing it with a certain gusto and all I could do was grin and bear it. However, I disagree with your opinion that we should never say, "It won't happen again".  Anyone who believes in their team should believe that "It won't happen again" when they lose a game.
Thats a fair point, but in the reality of high school sports, understand that it will happen again. That is the reason we all love and watch the game. . .correct? And btw thank you for that example because that it exactly the situation I was trying to portray but could not muster such a perfect example.
Well yeah, only a fool would think that it could never, ever happen.  But, you know, every one of those Jets believed that they would beat the Steelers yesterday.  Same goes for the Bears.  Its the only way that you should go into a game, or else you've already lost.

 19. "Hello, is this 9-1-1?" "Yes, what is the emergency". "Well, its not exactly an emergency, but there this dead horse on the side of the ride and these guys keep beating on it".  :o
 20. I can see that the ref who threw the ball up for the tip-off was busy watching the ball and couldn't see the obvious foul, but what were the other two referees doing/thinking?  Did they think it was the tip-off Ref's call?  ???
 21.
I'm ready for Silsbee vs HJ with Coach T! Round 2.....FIGHT!
I'm even more excited to see Round 3...... Then the fight is for real, brother!
 22. Am I the only one that finds it ironic that a Nederland Bulldog fan complains that Hardin Jefferson basketball fans are arrogant and overly confident in their team?  I mean this is the same Nederland that has a football fan base that is the envy of the area. Not that I find Nederland Football fans arrogant, but I do find them to be rather boisterous and animated.  However, I admire that in a fan base.

 25.
The people on this board arent really bad, but they have their moments.. My hate comes from other fans not on this board (people that I have chatted with in person, not from behind a computer  ;) ) Pride is one thing, and I understand that.. But "assuming" that it is the "HJ way" to be automatically placed among the elite, and to think the team deserves to always go to the tournament is what I dont like.. HJ's varsity this year isnt a great team.. Thats the point I have made.. Numbers dont lie, and HJ has 20+ wins.. which is no joke, and means something is going right over, but I dont like when people assume they are great, especially when they lose to the best teams on their schedule, and beat the ones they should win by 20 or more over.. But, there is one thing on this board that I used to really hate, but now I truely love.. And it SteveNash's "unmatched" use of vocabulary and diction in his responses..  :D
So basically, you hate the HJ die-hard for the same reason that many people dis-like the Nederland Football fanatics?  Hmmm...... :-\ I don't understand your problem with people "assuming that HJ be placed among the elite".  That's called confidence, and lately, that confidence has been well-placed.   You're right, number don't lie.  HJ was flat against Nederland as well as Central and LCM.  That's typical of them, however.  They rarely reach their stride until mid to late district.  This year seems to be no different. I have seen and respect the points you've made (and they are well-founded), but these points have been made the last several years about HJ and the Hawks have proved to exceed all of these well put thoughts and predictions.  After their state championship, HJ was projected to have a rebuilding year.  They made it to regional finals and almost beat Silsbee.  The following year was supposed to be a rebuilding year.  They made it to the state tournament.  Last year, was definitely going to be a rebuilding year... They almost brought Silsbee to overtime at the Regional Final.  And this year..... this year is absolutely supposed to be a rebuilding year and yet........ well, we'll see!  ;)
