Sometimes you gotta go with, "Live and let live". You ain't gonna change their mind.  And that wall begins to start hurting my head.  ;)
 2. Guys, you might as well accept it. Why do you think the Yankees are loathed by so many.... or the Cowboys...... or the Lakers.  Because they win. I went to Buna in the early 80's and played point guard and forward.  With 7 players suiting out, we could beat every team in our district.... literally run them into the ground.  Well, that is every team but Hardin Jefferson.  We'd hang for 3 quarters only to watch them kill us in the 4th when our legs ran out of gas. For that reason I hated Hardin Jefferson.  Oh, I liked the players (Martel, Hart, Batiste, Carrier, etc.), but I couldn't stand the basketball team.  I still get that bad feeling of dread when I see the red and blue run the floor today (their style has not changed since Breithhaupt (?) coached them 87 years ago!). So I understand why there are people who can't stand the program.  At least Bluedove is honest about it - he's envious.  ;) But on the flip side of the coin, not every person who roots for the other team can automatically be labeled an "HJ hater".
 3.
Nope. Missing the point. HF could have beaten OF when they played with their best athletes on the floor. 8)
Nope.  Missing the point. OF could have beaten BC if they would have been up for the game.  BC could have beaten HF if they would have executed their offense. "Could have, would have, should have" only leads to crying over spilt milk.  While HF could have beaten Orangefield with good subbing, there is still that intangible which enters the game which no coach can ever eliminate.  You can't stop it, you can only hope to contain it.
 4.

Just for clarification, HJ has made the regional tourney 4 straight years, '07, '08, '09, '10, not 6 or 7. ;)
In a weak Regional :D
Now THAT'S funny!  :D
Soulja girl what you talking about other then black and white stripes
bmtballer, did you make up another persona to throw out a veiled black and white reference, or is this another drunk friend? it's amazing how quickly this has gotten old.
 6. No.  Nature of the game. On any given day......
 7.

HJ with old weak schedule  :D
Yep- been battling that for years.  It seems as though many know more about the scheduling process than the staff that puts the schedule together.  As I said in another post, the staff decided that getting to the regional final four for, I think, about the last 6 or seven years in a row, combined with two trips to Austin and one state championship has convinced the staff that they needn't take the advice of other experts regarding scheduling.  Based on their results, it would ALMOST seem like the self perceived "evaluators" might want to reassess their "evalutations", but probably not.  Al Gore still swears he won the election.
Couldn't have said it any better myself.
 8.
Even more sad when the admins take part in this BS...
That's the only way this could go on and on.  If you and I tried to do this, we'd get the "back on topic, please" warning.  ;)
 9.
I didnt say WOS was one of those teams..  ??? I said they are good 11-12 team and dont take them lightly.. I know Nederland is on top right now, but go look where they played before District.. Has HJ played in an actual tournament to challenge them? Why doesnt HJ go to the YMBL? How about take on some 4A and 5A teams? I agree that we dont play in a top-to-bottom stacked district, but Ned challenged itself before district to better themselves.. HJ record is sky high now because they hit the soft part of their schedule. What was going on earlier this season? Want to still say it wasw injuries? Or key people not back yet for some reason? They lost because those teams were better and out-played them, but since they are rolling in district, no HJ person wants to remember that. Same can be said about Nederland. They lost quite their games because the other team outplayed them and a few times because Nederland blew the lead. I wont comment anymore about HJ if they beat Silsbee. I promise on that one.  ;)
Brother, I didn't mean "rolling along" this year.  I meant, "year after year after year".  ;)
 10.

Honestly, your judgement is trash. AGAIN you just keep sitting behind your keyboard doing what you do since you know so much about high school bball and "fierce" competitors from "other teams" that are "way better" athletes.  Your opinion is worthless. Move on to your next opponent and stop bashing kids.
You're the one that can't move on.  Your team lost, guy! (as if that's anything new to them). Time to move on.  Don't yall have an opponent Tuesday?  Let that anger go, man.
Soulja, Methinks that our good bmtballer got hammered and re-signed up as Guru (or got his drunk friend to chime in....).  I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about the sanity of this dude (or dudes).
 11.

Fans like Nash are probably a reason why some don't like HJ.  I made the prediction, as did other HJ followers, that Silsbee would beat HJ. So what? I am inclined to think that if WOS pulled off the upset tonight, Dog would have better class.
To be honest, it is people like Nash that really make others not want to like HJ..  ;) I thought that WOS would come out fired and up and be running and gunning on HJ.. Obviously I was wrong, and it looks like HJ played with alot of emotion after the loss to Silsbee and maybe had something to prove about their team.. Sometimes you pick right.. and sometimes you dont..
Agree 100%  ;D
Of course, the fact that HJ keeps rolling along may also contribute to this feeling, eh?  ;)
 12. HFMom, as one who joked that the 50 point blowout was going to occur by half-time, I want to say, "You go, girl!".  Although the post was made in jest, I did assume a 40 point+ blow-out was in the making.  Its been a L-O-N-G time since HF could spell basketball, let alone play it.  So, to all the Silsbee fans that cling to "A win is a win", that's not what was being said last night on this thread after the game.  Aso, HF came out of this game with a whole lot more confidence than they've ever had.
 13.
"As far as the WOS pick over HJ, I think the athleticism of WOS will end up beating HJ   "  That is a precise quote -  not anywhere near correct ;D
Wow.  This deserves a thread?  I've come to the conclusion that there are people out there that don't like HJ, and I've learned to deal with it.
 14. 61-41 HJ with a minute to go.  All the WOS scoring in the 4th has been against the bench.  Incredible 3rd quarter!
 15.
Gus can shoot. He needs to do it a little more. But thats JMO. What do you guy's think ?
That's been driving me crazy.  Teams collapse on us because they know Gus won't shoot.  And that sad thing is, he seems to have a good shot.
 16. 57 - 25 HJ!! So far the 2nd half score is HJ 32 - WOS 4! Gus has hit at least 3 3-pointers.
 17. HJ has gone cold.  HJ 21 - WOS 19
 18.
Im curious, How in the heck did Wos beat Hj last year? Did they get some home cooking, or did they just out play or out coach Hj?
If I recall, they just outplayed.  Every loose ball seemed to bounce their way.  And the basket was "closed for repairs" on our 3 point shots, at least until a late rally that came up short.
 19.
I've only seen a few games HF games but the guard play is definitely the strongest on the team. I'm not saying he isn't doing this but I certainly hope he is preparing his Freshman guard for the future. She may be the key.
That guard is a Freshman?  She is very good and aggressive!
 20. I think its been great..... yes, maybe they can move the start time up, but its about stinkin' time that the girls get to play before a group other than their parents.
 21.
26-6 free throws shot. H-J was called for 4 fouls halfway through the first quarter, only 5 more the rest of the game. Total foul count was HJ 9 OF 20, OF never pressed, HJ pressed the entire game, just a couple of interesting stats. HJ didn't miss free throws down the stretch which accounted for the significant 4th quarter point spread. One thing about going to HJ, you can always count on their fans not knowing how to sit on the home side. Only place in the district like that...
Foul count would have been 9 - 14 because your last 6 were intentional fouls.  Your original stat was a little misleading. Now granted, HJ got away with a couple of bad calls - Sutherland pushed a guy down on offense right in front of your coach (... I've never seen a conniption, but I thought I was going to see one for the first time....) and I still don't know how we got the out of bounds on the opening tip-off.  But Sean Prudhomme's (#10) last foul (Offensive) was awful and it cost us the "And 1". But I gotta give it to you guys, Orangefield came to play.  I think you lost your legs in the 2nd half and it showed on the 3 point attempts. And I think your coach made a great call.  There was an incident under our basket after a 4th quarter free throw where #23 (OF) and #10 (HJ) almost went after it.  Your coach immediately removed #23 from the game to calm him down.  I think Prudhomme left the game the next time the clock stopped. Oh yeah, and a couple of well-timed dunks would have changed the whole complexion of the game.  ;)  I think he was going to try a 360 or something and got caught in midstep. But overall, Orangefield has no reason to hang their heads after that game.
 22. Wow!!! That is a shocker!  HJ has opened up with a 12-0 run or something.
 23. Hey, it's real simple.  There are dozens of other threads to linger on.  I don't recall anyone being forced to read all 22 pages.  As long as there are things to be said, It's a free world.
