Wasn't Isabelle ('91) the Texas High School Player of the Year?  I could be wrong, but I thought I heard it mentioned during the HJ Classic.  Of course, he may have had a better supporting staff.  I played ball against HJ in 81 and 82.  No huge stand outs, but just a bunch of role players who took them, I believe, to the State tournament.  It's spooky watching them today, because all of the ghosts of the past come back and haunt me.  Dudes pressed me all night long!

[/quote]What impressed me the most was the way they were able to keep their heads in the third quarter.  Cleveland opens up the third with an 8-0 run and then the referees started to show that HJ was competing against them as well.  They could easily have blown their cool and the lead at the same time. This did not happen!!!

As usual, the Hawks make us proud! Who would have thought, the 2 teams from Hardin County that make it to Regionals do NOT include Kountze!

[/quote]I'm sorry.  I didn't mean the HJ team.  Those kids don't let nothing intimidate them.  I remember in 2007, when they made their state run, their average deficit in their 6 (or 7) play-off games was something like 14 points.  That's a mountain of a deficit that you've got to climb out of each game. What I meant was, [u][b]the other team's players[/b][/u], like Cleveland, have got to feel that they can beat these guys up and down the court. It's always funny how, what I THINK I'm saying, and what actually comes out, can be two entirely different things!

Silsbee needs to get their Mojo back. This may be just the medicine.

[/quote]I wasn't aware that you had to have "the fast one" to excel. This year's team is missing that player that can carry the team scoring-wise game in and game out - Donohoe, Benard, etc.  Every game seems to produce a different offensive star.  Next year, you'll see more of the same.
