This year, HJ's basketball team starts three footballers - Jacoby Turner, Garrett Gustafson, and Blake Venable.  Trey Burrell was also a football player from last year's team.  Silsbee's top scorer, Pheal Hill, was a football player as well.  I think they may have one or two other starters who played football. Are they the exception, or the norm?

Start at the beginning. Two Words - "Little Dribblers". Make that five words - "A Good Little Dribbler Program". It's not the whole enchilada, but its the strong foundation that you've got to build on.

I liked the Coach that I talked to (who I now know is Mr. Williams).  He was very friendly and easy to talk to, and really concerned about his kids and their futures. Good man.  We don't always have that in the coaching field.

Bring it on!  If this is the path of Hardin Jefferson, then we will just have to go where eagles fear to tread. Besides, you know Hawks aren't afraid of heights!!!  :D

But, I was talking to the Silsbee coach after the game, I don't know his name but he's the bald one that's very animated during the game, and he was telling me that Hill has to get his grades back up in order to return. ... Not just to play basketball again, but if he wants to go to college.

Good game, Silsbee.  Those guys kept us out of our rhythm and forced us into changing our shots.  If we improve in a couple of areas, we can hang with them the next game, but their going to be even tougher when Hill comes back.

This game has become an incredible rivalry.  What's so great about it is, no one has been able to dominate the other.  I mean, these district games almost seem to be a warmup for the Regional Finals. Of course, Cleveland may have a say in the matter this year.........

Their Just the best! ;-) [/quote]Once you get past the comments and opinions of a select few, Swag, you gotta realize that over the years, Silsbee has had a more athletic team.  They've had the advantage in height and jumping ability.  They've always had the shooters to rival the Hawks, as well.  With all that said, the Hawks consistently hang with the Tigers. How is this so, brother?
