2. Considering that this was supposed to be a down year for HJ, their report card should be an "A", but to be honest with you, they shouldn't be graded until after this week with WOS and Silsbee games coming up.  Of course, I hope to give them a resounding "A+" after Friday, however!
 3.

As long as the Hawks spend tomorrow night worrying about WOS and not the Silsbee Friday night game, things should work out all right.  They played sharp in all facets of the game last Friday, except it seems like every shooter hit a 3 pointer that night except for Sutherland (and maybe Jacoby).  It will be a close 1st half, but HJ will open the third with a 12-2 run and will never look back. HJ by 15 - 75-60.
Sutherland and Turner both hit a three the other night!!!!!
Wow, my bad.  I don't remember Grayson hitting one, but I believe you.  I figured he was hurting from his little tooth escapade the night before.  But that means everyone hit a three who tried the other night except for Reagan.
I would have killed my parents if they would have allowed the coach to hold me back.  Of course, maybe that's why Buna couldn't spell play-offs at the time, eh?
 5.
If my memory is correct, isn't that about the time the coaches were holding seventh and 8th graders back a year so they would have matured more by high school?
Yes, it seems Coach Peveto felt his best players needed another year of 7th grade.  I remember several of those Bobcats hung around an extra year.
 6.
Back in my days there was no alley oop. No show boating . Just pure basketball the way it mean't to be played.
Of course, back in my days there was not much dunking going on. We didn't want to tear up the peach basket!  :P
 7.
Fan, I hope that's not a play on words. His name is Pheal Hill.
No, no play on words and Freud had nothing to do with it either.  I respect that guys talent way too much to show any disrespect. For some reason I jumped to Pheal Heal, instead of Pheal Hill.  Don't worry, I'll do 20 laps and a couple of gut-busters.  It will never happen again.

 9.
I respect that.  For some reason I like you. Seems like you are true fan. Just don't be like Lazeek, Karma, and Nash.
Wow!  I've been both "Swagged" by you and "Respected" by you! I feel honored!  And yes, I do love a good game of basketball, even if the Hawks happen to lose...... which they won't this week....... hopefully! And to those whe think the Tigers don't stand a chance against HJ without Heal....... you're nuts.
 10.
Knowledge is not one of his strong points....I would take Sutherland and Ricossa, Turner, and R. Walker...sorry cant just pick one.
In other words, "Why have a good team, when you can have a great team, eh?" I mean, as long as its my dream, I should pick the rules.
 11.
Soo Hawks is it okay to throw an alley off the backboard in the 4th. I remember someone from Hj saying that they would under cut Devin or Roman of the attemted a alley oop. So hawks what if a H.F player wouldve done that too Turner. Would you be okay with. Yall suggested it! Lol
I would be sickened if an Hawk did that to anybody.  But, more importantly, I think the coaching staff would be sickened.  I'd hate to see what Coach would do to someone who tried that.  Sutherland has seen what happens, having Donohue break his nose and Trey Burrell break his jaw from errant elbows.  He respects all the kids, ours and others teams', who play the game and would make sure that doesn't happen. The clown that made the comment you referenced above has probably never stepped on the court and does not represent the opinions of the HJ team, or any other living person.
 12.
This is sad. Hj can do no wrong. Just the other day Nash and other Hawks were talking about when Hj attempted it in the E.C tournament Coach immediately called a time out and got all over the 2 players and benched them.1 question, did he repeat those same actions. No! All I hear is how everybody  were smiling, and laughing including Coaches. this is so disrespectful for the guard to be on a fast break and Not take the lay up himself but rather throw it Off The Freaking Backboard while already up Half a Hundred is wrong. No matter what you say Hj, you know its wrong but since yall did it, its Okay! I would be angry, embarrassed, and feel very disrespected if I was a Longhorn. I would be all over yall like Sprinkles!!!
Swag, as usual, your opinion is well noted and appreciated! Thanks for sharing!
 13.
Faninthestands, I agree with you, 100%. But if it is true about 2 of HJ's starting guards doing an alley oop off the backboard in the 4th quarter up by 50, that's showboating too. ;) LAZEEK, did I read your post correctly, HJ pressed the whole game? Bullets13 says they didn't.
I think there are levels of show-boating.  It was early in the 4th quarter, where coach gave the starters their 2 minutes of play.  I could guarantee you that Gus and Jacoby have tried this a million times in practice and have been dying to do it in a game.  So what do you do?  Do you do it in the middle of a 50-50 game between Silsbee and get benched because Sutherland can't believe you're playing around, or do you do it when the score has already been settled. If HJ continued to do that in the game, then it would have been over the top.  If HJ would have celebrated on the floor while HF takes it to the hole, then it would have stupid and over the top.  But instead, Gus and Jacoby hurried back on defense, although you couldn't wipe the grins off their faces as they finally succeeded in the off-the-backboard-alley-oop!  And within 30 seconds, coach removed all the starters. In the meantime, I'd call it "style points".  But you guys have the right to call it show-boating, too. I still think it prevented that 50 point rally that HF was fixing to reel-off, so the play was integral to the win!  I mean, BlueDove and Ron Burgundy have convinced me that HF is like a coiled-up snake waiting to strike!  ;)
 14.
I think the whole Hawkette Nation need to get on here and apologize to Me, Coach Joubert and the 09'-10 Ktz Lions. They bashed us for throwing legitimate alleys. People we throw alleys because we can. Hj throws alleys because they are a fan of ours. They throw alleys off the backboard against H.F when their up "Half a Hundred" They throw alleys off the backboard against Milburn when their up "Half a Hundred" Its called showboating....We throw alleys cuz its a high percentage shot... Can I plz get some apologies?
I think you'll get apologies when you show the accusations.  What I've seen people questioning on these forums is that, while you guys are celebrating your dunks (and they ARE great dunks, btw), the other team is taking the ball and scoring.  Net score?  2-2. When you are celebrating so much that the other team gets an easy layup, that's show-boating!
 15.
swagg i have the facts that the play was a show boat .......but of course they hawketts will try their justify the play...... just wondering how the pot can call the kettle black
Let it be known that there were no HF layups during the ensuing Hardin Jefferson celebration!  8)
 16.
Losing Hill is like HJ losing Turner Just imagine if you are HJ and you had to play Silsbee without Turner ???
If its for the 6 weeks then he should be back for the play-offs, eh?  This will give his backups a chance to step up.  This may not be a total loss in the long run.  For instance, I saw some improvement in Will Anderson's play after Ricossa went down.  This benefits HJ now when Ricossa takes a breather. No, if Hill comes back, this is certainly not a show-stopper.
 17.
How is Ricossa holding up after the injury?
He seems to be doing OK.  I understand that he has to ice down his knee every night.  He hit in double figures tonight and got numerous rebounds...... but it was against HF.  They did not play well at all in any facet of the game, including blocking out.
 18.
No pass no play  :( I can see everybody in HJ having a party tonight after hearing about this news
Well, I have a feeling Gus is feeling a little better.  That's a shame, however.  That dude is quick!  He used to give Jarvis Benard fits!!!
 19.

What happened too P. Hill??
The next time he will return might be the last 2 district games  :'(
What do you mean?  What happened to him.  Dude has to be one of the best defensive players I've seen in a while.
 20.
hey swagg i heard turner took a page from the alley hoop book tonight. I wonder if it was show boating or just a heckler of a play........
C'mon.  You can't be sure if Gus missed that layup on purpose, can you? And Turner just happened to be trailing the play and luckily was there to dunk the ball. I think we were lucky to have made that play because it stopped the beginning of an HF rally that would have overcome the 50 points deficit at the time. BTW, I saw where Kountze scored over 100 against Buna.  I have a feeling that had at least 1 or 2 dunks of their own in that game, don't you?
 21.

Starters might have played a total of 12 minutes tonight.....no stall and press was on!!!!
jacoby surely went for 30 tonight... at least.  and he spent more time on the bench than on the court!
He scored 8 points in a 30 second span (layup with a foul and a technical for 5 points, followed by a layup and a foul).  When Jacoby and Sean Prudhomme (?) played the 1 & 2 on the press, HF couldn't get the ball to midcourt.
 22.
Can I ask everyone what "bruh" means?
"Bro", "My homey", "Brah", "Bro-ham", "Brother from another Mother", "Blood", etc., etc.,
 23.
So what you are saying is that it is now or never!!!!!! ;D ;D
Well, of course he's not saying that!!! I mean, everybody knows that (all together now), "next year is going to be a down year for Hardin Jefferson".
 24.
Asked my brother in law he said an intentional foul results in two shots regardless of what kind of shot it is and the bucket would count if the player was shooting and they get the ball
There's no chance that a technical foul was called?
