I much prefer to dwell on that positive note then simmer on the negative.

I sat in that gym during the EC tournament and thought, "Hmm, HJ built a new gym and EC built a new gym.  Why couldn't ours be as nice as theirs?"  That continues to bother me.  A quick and easy answer would be so that they could have the second gym right next door, but that answer seems hollow when you realize there are two gyms right across the driveway (50 yards away!). That is a fantastic gym, Buc fans!

But your reply tells me that you ain't listening to sound advice.  If you were at the HJ-Kountze game, you know that TrophyMan was right.  Those dunks were followed up by lay-ups by Turner.  That should be inexcusable.  Once maybe, twice oops.  But all three times. Now, I think Joubert is a little smarter than you (at least, I HOPE so!) and has shown that little fact to his players and they won't let that continue to happen.  If they fail to adjust to that, there is a New Waverly or two just waiting to play ya'll, because you KNOW that they'll be trying the same thing.

The only time I saw HJ press the whole game during a blow-out like that was when the other team's coach told Coach Sutherland to keep up the pressure.  It seems the other coach wanted to teach his own players a lesson.

I recall during the middle of Kountze's record-setting losing streak in football(back in the 80's), Orangefield went and spanked Kountze 99-0.  Actually, the game wasn't as close as it seems... there were only 2 digits to post the OF score and word had it that they scored 107!! Sadly for Orangefield, however, Kountze had to play them that year in basketball and I recall hearing about a world-class beatdown.  Of course, it may not have reached 170 - 35, but in any event, the Houston Yates football coach may have some long Friday nights ahead of him next year!!!  People don't forget things like that very easily.

BTW, are there any numbers available for Coach Sutherland's Play-off record?  That is probably an impressive statistic. And, while he was at HJ, I would be willing to bet none of those Play-off wins was against a 1A or 2A team!!  8)
