Whats the foul situation.  Listening in, it sounds like the whole game is being played at the free throw line!  I would imagine both sides have some kids in foul trouble.

[/quote]I would also point out that HJ has been to the Regional Tourney in Hunstville 5 years in a row (at least) with a record in said Tourney of 6 - 3.  Silsbee runs a close 2nd in this feat having a record in Hunstville (4 trips in 5 years) of 5 - 2. That's pretty good stats coming out of 1 little district.... a combined record of 11 - 5 in the last 5 years!

Lazeek, please understand, you may or may not remember how much  I love statistics. And I realized that the odds of you, Nash, and BadSanta being the same person are more likely than the odds of you three agreeing on anything, such as our respective play-off games being played on the wrong night. ;D My bad.

But to your questioning the Indians' past greatness - They been rated in the top 4 (or 5) at least twice in the last 3 years and have never made it to Regionals.  I'd say that's a little disappointing.  I think that's what Indian may be referring to.

If I recall correctly, they are cut out of the same mold as Silsbee. They had Silsbee down by maybe 10 points in the 3rd before the Tigers came back.  This was a District warm-up game. You can find the thread a raad some comments.

I think that's part of what defines champions - winning games that you should lose.  And the other part of being a champion is realizing that you can't make a habit out of winning games that you should lose.  Nederland needs to be prepared to play all 4 quarters Friday night.

It's what has made HJ basketball so much fun in recent years... watching David once again take down Goliath; especially when Goliath thinks that his "stuff don't stink" (Sorry, Nash, no reference to you!) ;D

[/quote] I haven't seen several only the two I on there.  To be honest I couldn't tell from the camera angle(fairly high up mostly) how big they were.  I did read about there big man, as a football recruit, being 6'4 and somewhere around 240 and from that I would guess they have at least a couple good size guards after seeing them near him. Honestly, they were playing two 4A or 5A schools and both games were close.  I am not sure just how good those teams are.  La Vega has some talent but I wasn't as impressed with them on tape as I have heard some have been in person. [/quote]Yeah, I think the TV does that.  Some teams look far more impressive in real life than they do on TV.  Especially when the camera is far away and up high.

Royal adjusted to king speed after the 1st qrt and was having a lay up drill everytime king pressed for rested of the game. King stayed in the game by hitting threes. If silsbee can 40% of their threes they will win. Silsbee fans picture a taller Baytown Sterling team. That is what you will see Friday.
