1. Man, two fumbles, two SC TDs, not the way to start against SC!
 2.
Be nice if we could get a holding call .
Would really be nice if we could hold on to the ball!
 3.
Be a sad drive home to Vidor :'(
You could be right and SC is a tough first round opponent, but win or lose, I look for the Pirates to represent well.
 4. Big 12 type score tonight, with one team going almost exclusively with the pass and the other with the run.  Vidor D gave up twice the points than they usually do, but had some substitutes in after the 28-0 first quarter. Still 9-1 is the second best regular season record for the Pirates. Really enjoyed the "after game" performance by the band!
 5.
Pirates by alot Soooo...If Vidor wins and Nederland loses to Central...would that make Vidor and Nederland Co District Champs?
Yes
 6. Vidor will be favored to win this one even with this game being a playoff game for LCM.  Bears should be able to score 3 TDs as that seems to be the new normal in district for the Pirate D, (except for PNG & Lumberton), making the score 42-21 in favor of the visitors.
 7.
Delusions of grandeur... Name the last time a black and gold team from 20-4A beat the Broncos? Not going to happen this year neither. A Central victory tonight (as predicted by Toups Graphics) clears the way for the Pirates to be in division II.  Pirates have a chance to make it to quarterfinals there.
Central still has to beat district champ Nederland to make the playoffs.
 8. Well, now it is a must win situation for LCM, look for the Bears to throw everything they've got at the Pirates.
 9.
Central wins tonight and gets Ozen in the Play-Offs.  I love football!
So you're giving Central no chance at all against Nederland?
 10. Mitchell is carrying his team now, with the playoffs on the line, can Sezar lead the Bears back in the 4th quarter?
 11.
Lcm better win this game because if there defense plays like this next week there will be no playoffs for them.
Thought LCM's pass defense at least was supposed to be pretty stout.
 12.
Iam not quiet sure why Collins did what he did tonight? A player of his caliber does not need to do that imo. Montana gets talked about alot  on this sight. Sure looked like he was trying to turn this into a look at me game after Montana scored his first touchdown and Collins walked all the way to our sideline beside him holding up the hookem  horns and jawing
There are similarities between QB's, both are their teams main offensive weapons, both start on defense, both are very athletic, etc, etc., but if Collins was going into this game looking at it as a Chevoski vs Montana matchup, then I think he wound up being a little disappointed.
 13. One of two ways, play to win or rest some starters.  Last year they played to win against Livingston in the final game, even after they had clinched a play off spot.  A Vidor win put Ozen in the playoffs then.  If Central beats LCM Saturday, then a Vidor win would put Central in the playoffs. It may depend on the outcome of that game, but I think they play to win anyway.  A win would give Vidor 9 regular season wins, the most since '64 when they went 10-0 and ended up 12-0-1 in the state semi-finals.
 14.

I agree with you Stangfan, Vidor does need some passing plays to add to the very lethal running game. I have said that since back in the 80's.
And that is all I am saying....Would like for Vidor to have that extra weapon!!!
May see more passing next year as our running QB, MQ, will graduate.  Still, the Slot-T, by it's very nature, is a run-heavy offense. Livingston's version is more varied with the shotgun, zone read, and even some spread with quite a bit more passing.  I think all the "extras" that the Lions run  may be geared to Collins' abilities however and that makes their version more of a hybrid Slot-T, rather than Vidor's "pure" slot T.
 15.
Did somebody score 60 on them yet? LOL
Yes, but they never gave up, played til the end.
 16. Still, this was one of those games that was hard to relax knowing that Livingston had the ability & athletes to score on the big play.  Proud of the defense for keeping containment for most of the game.  After a shaky first quarter, the Pirate offense got going and Montana's second touchdown was  definitely highlight reel worthy.  If I'm not mistaken, he now has 25 for the year. The refs lost control of the game early and it got ugly.  Glad to see the Pirates kept their composure.  Good, tough win for Vidor.
 17. A little off topic, but I know that Livingston has clinched a playoff spot with a 4-1 record, 2 games to play and Vidor hasn't, with the same record and 2 games to play?  I'm assuming that's because Livingston has nailed down a spot in D2, while Vidor would go D1, (unless Central somehow gets in), is this correct?
 18. Would like to get Soulja's opinion on this game as he has seen Vidor and Livingston play Central the past 2 weeks.  Some outside insight if you will.
 19.

Good post. As you know, high school football can be cyclical with good years and bad, it's just a down year for y'all right now.  Hope I'm wrong, but with the talent we're losing to graduation, we could be looking at one next year.
Tim we will be ok on talent for the next 3 seasons as far as I can tell.... We lose a lot of good kids this year to graduation but I think we will fill their shoes very nicely next year.... Granted Q will be a tough set of cleats to fill ... This year when he went to the BYU summer camp they worked him at safety and at TB ....
Coach, hope you're right, I know the subvarsity teams are winning, but we will be young next year.  And yes,  Q is a special player who will leave a legacy at VHS. (BTW, it's good to see that I'm not the only one who takes a while to unwind after a game!)
 20. Great to hear he's not done.  Cooper is a big part of all three phases of the game.  And Boutte did well in relief at safety.
 21. Good post. As you know, high school football can be cyclical with good years and bad, it's just a down year for y'all right now.  Hope I'm wrong, but with the talent we're losing to graduation, we could be looking at one next year.
 22. Yeah, he was definitely the QB's favorite target.  Still think y'all should be able to get some run game going with the size up front.
 23. BTW, I heard Bryce Cooper #3, is done this season, ACL, anybody know if this is true?  If so, a big blow on defense, offense and special teams.
 24. PNG offensive linemen are huge!.. but Rose appears to be the only offensive threat.  Should be able to run behind that line.
