1.
Hell, I'm proud of them too!! All of you played your hearts out against our Wildcats, and you have a very disciplined and excellent team and wonderful fans. I know you have all been through a lot the last couple of months, and I could see from across the field that Everyone has become closer because of it. I kinda Wish that BOTH teams could have won tonight, but unfortunately we all know it doesn't work like that. I can't wait to see how you guys do next year!! Thanks for a great game tonight, it was a pleasure to see you play football!! Congratulations on a great season!!
Thanks, very classy post and sentiment.  Y'all have a great team and fan support, hope you do well and go far!
 2. We are visitors......underdogs.......party crashers........but we will prevail!
 3. I have no problem at all with 4 going from an 8 team district.  Over the years I've seen 3rd and 4th place teams get hot and go on a deep run.  They never would have had the opportunity otherwise.  ( I believe that  Livingston also would be a worthy playoff team this year if they had gotten in. )
 4. Congratulations to Nederland on a hard fought win!  And 20-4A rolls on to round 3!
 5. Great win for the Panthers!  And another reason I have no problem with 4 teams going to the playoffs in an 8 team district!
 6. Being chippy in warmups usually precedes an emotional hard-hitting game. Just hope both team's players can keep those emotions somewhat under control so they don't lead to penalties once the game starts.

Let go Cubs!
I hope Ozen takes it to brenham! Because you have got to be the sole person that has downed Vidor on these past few weeks. keep it up so Vidor cant keep shutting you up. Go 20-4a!!!!! Good luck Panthers Go Vidor, Round 3 baby!
I don't think he has really downed Vidor, honestly.  There were a few Montgomery fans who did, but he was not one of them.  Picking against a team doesn't necessarily equate to downing them.
I agree, Brenham fan seems to be a classy guy and supports his team, can't knock a fan for that.

 9.

I expect the UIL to look into it if Coach T request it.
Don't want to beT a dead horse but if you were there, Garrity, you would have wanted to punch people from the stands it was so bad. I mean, it wasn't just some shoving, it was blatant tanting and puching way after the play. They were honestly trying to hurt our kids. If i was the uil, I would drug test the whole team immediatly and fire their coach. He was encouraging it.
Sounds like the coach needs to be disciplined and the UIL needs to impose some kind penalty on the coach/program.  I know it's hard for kids to keep their composure when the other team starts something so blatant and keeps it up.  Props to the Mustangs for keeping their heads and showing team discipline.
 10.
"The Montgomery football team is right where it wants to be." Maybe if they want to be on the basketball court. ;D
LOL!  ;D
 11.
Way to go Vidor, y'all have done what I thought wouldn't be done by our whole district and get to the third round. Great game but don't take your foot off the gas for one minute, things can change real quick, ready for the ozen -brenham game and the ned game today, along with the broncos and their pro kicker! Represent well, this png fan will be at yalls game this week since I will actually be off for once on the weekend and won't be in mynomex lol, congrats again on an impressive win. May try to get soulja to go if his woman will turn him loose for a couple of hours, y'all are doing a fine job of representing 20-4A , keep the momentum going!!!
Appreciate the support from PNG and the rest of the district.
 12.
Congrats Vidor I'll be the first one to eat crow on this one and please keep the ship sailing to Austin. He's on the plate ready for cooking. [Hidden Content]
Monkeynuts is a classy fan, don't think he ever talked any smack leading up to the game, just supported his team.  Good job by your Bears to keep fighting to the end.
 13.

They let their excitement get the best of them a little bit and Montgomery wasn't going to quit.  I'm sure Mathews will have them more settled next week.
Agreed. We all need to remember though that they're just kids. I know I can't control my excitement and I'm an old man.
Hey, I'll bet I'm a lot older than you and I still can't go to sleep!
 14.

Great game Pirates.. One thing for certain Montgomery NEVER gave up, great game Bears.. [move]HOW BOUT THEM PIRATES[/move]!!
We beat a good team tonight. Let that sink in...
Yes indeed, Montgomery has a very good team with a "never say die" attitude.  This is win to be proud of.
 15. Very exciting 4th quarter, props to the Bears for the comeback and never quit attitude.  Some of the best receivers I've seen in a while.  Montgomery held to 50 yards rushing, but got on a 4th quarter roll with the pass.  Glad we got that last onside kick.  Great game by the Pirate offense against a swarming Bear defense and great support by the Vidor fan base and fans from other district teams.  Keep it going Pirates and to round 3.
 16. Congratulations to BC on a gutsy performance last night and a great season.  Super effort against a heavily favored team.  Western Orange County was pullin' for ya!
 17.
Ozen, if you are going to win state, which is the dream of all teams, sooner or later you are going to have to play a team like Brenham. You have to make your stand and take it up a notch. Play mistake free ball. Brenham is very tough. This is the game you played all year to be in. Good luck.
+1  Good post.
 18. I listened to the Crockett/Malakoff game last weekend, Crockett rolled.  EC should take this one.
 19.

thanks for those minor stat adjustments on the bears.saw my info last week before playoff game.bottom line is they are pretty good overall team with more playmakers than crosby
I agree!  I've tried to tell people to take them seriously....
Believe me, any knowledeable Vidor fan is taking Montgomery seriously and then some.  At this point you have to give all due respect to an upcoming opponent, especially one that seems to be as good as Montgomery.  I'm sure they'll be favored in this matchup. That being said, the Pirates will show up and will give it their all for all four quarters.  Win or lose, an opponent will know they've been in a battle.
 20.
We were just repaying the support that was given to us the night before..... as always once District is over its time to pull for our 20-4A Brethren.... District is District..... Playoffs is different ;D
+1.  Sat in front of some PNG fans that were at our game Thursday night and saw several groups of Pirate fans at the game.
 21. The Lions would have had a good shot for sure. IMO Livingston is the best team in the greater SET area that's home for the playoffs.
 22. GCM's #2 on defense was Nederland's best offensive weapon on one drive, I think he committed 3 big penalties in a row before coaches pulled him out.  sandlot football is a good description of GCM's offensive scheme, but I thought their defense was pretty solid most of the game, their secondary kept knocking passes down and Raines had a couple batted at the line of scrimmage. With more discipline the Patriots have the potential to be a pretty good team, IMO.  Congrats to the 'Dogs on the win and hope #45 is all right.  I know it looked like he had a pretty serious knee/ankle/foot injury.
 23.
It was the night after the game and all through the land I searched fan and wide for a Barber's Hill fan.  After all of the smacking day and night, the most vocal of the bunch is now out of sight.   I witnessed the whole thing, it was worth the ride To see the 5-5 panthers give the Great eagles a black eye! Lol! Both teams were great, best game I've seen in a while!  This smack is for the BH smackers only! Kids keep your heads up you played a great game!
+1
 24.
I was in attendance at this game last night and didn't have time to post my observations. Big congrads on Vidor for their first playoff win in ages.  Crosby is a good team with those twins and #11.  They al have some get up and go and the acrobatic leaping catch when showed on the jumbotron screen were awesome.  This team athleticwis should have put up a better game than this.  But I've heard that the twins are sophmores (somebody correct me if I'm wrong).  They'll be back strong again next year and I feel sorry for who draws them next year. Nice looking team. (ps...  One of the twins got frustrated at the end of the game and threw his helmet down.  Hang in there, kid.  Yall will be in it next year in the same position) Vidor?  What can I say about them.  They played GREAT playoff football.  I'll start with offense. The thing that stuck out to me was that all the running plays, they were not ONCE called for holding.  That's excellent football.  Major props to Matthews and company.  Vidor's offense was not stopped except for the initial drive and that was on a faulse start penalty.  Other than that, the Pirate offense were not denied.  # 23 for Vidor was a man tonight.  This kid, without doupt will win MVP of the year.  He runs with a purpose and with heart.  Clark (who me and the neigboring fans referred to as 'Big Boy') made me proud.  That's the way a 'big Nasty is supposed to play.  Play of the day?  The Vidor RB (i forgot on what play) hit the sideline and trucked a Crosby tackler and they showed it on the big screen.  We went nuts. Vidor's defense is what was most impressive.  They didn't back down nor was intimidated by the twin's speed (and boy, those twins can flat out fly). They made good tackles (for the most part as the twins broke free on some long plays) and took excellent angles to make the tackle on much faster and quicker players.  This is the aspect of the game that made me pick Vidor in this game.  #23 was a tackling machine as usual.  Very deceptive speed as most of the starting Vidor defense.  They withstood Crosby surges and played bend don't break football, until late in the 4th.  Then they went and got that QB!  It was a pleasure and worth my admission last night to see these pirates again. (This is the 3rd Vidor game this year for me).  Makes me proud to be a fan that's part of the most pationate district in the state of texas.  Sail on, Pirates.  Sail on!
Great post Soulja.  I always like to hear from fans who don't have a "dog in the hunt" so to speak to get their take on the team/game.  You can usually get a more objective view that way.
 25. The Crosby twins are the most elusive runners I have seen this year, even moreso than Jacobi Jones from Ozen.  You cannot arm tackle these guys and several times some of our better defenders got faked out of their jocks and got caught flat-footed.  Due respect goes to the Cougar offense, I could never relax when they had the ball.  Using the sidelines they could run a play every 6 seconds, (I timed it), so 2 minutes was like an eternity.  As far as the earlier post from the Crosby fan about losing their best defender, any time you lose a starter it will hurt, but our offense played without Smallwood last night and anybody who has seen Bolinger play knows he has not been the same since his injury at Nederland.  Props to him though for gutting it out and contributing last night.
